(Almost) Ready to take the plunge

I think there is a factor of my circumstance that is being overlooked...it's that I am on a visa and getting married will solve it rather quickly. Being on a visa means you are tied to your employer, which is not ideal. Literally one higher up doesnt like someone and they are out in no time (I am currently rock bottom on the totem pole).

With that said, I dont want to sound like I am from an absolute shithole country like Venezuela, that it is either green card or mayhem (I could possibly restart in other countries), but permanent American residency is definitely one factor that should weigh in to this decision.

Sounds like we are somewhat on the fence as a group on this. Maybe I should wait a bit longer and only do this when I am thoroughly convinced to take this step...

Now, here is the kicker -
I am seriously considering asking my parents (based in South East Asia) to find a great looking South East Asian lady for me so I can marry her. Not going to get into the details of immigration law, but marrying her will also get me a green card almost as quickly as marrying an American.

Under what visa program?

Its pretty complicated and Id rather not get into that here other than letting you all know this is something I need to consider as well.

Tough call, mate. In a sense, your problem is that you have several good options. They all have their downsides too, of course, but still, all of them can be good choices, and you can't exactly do them all. Make your plans, by all means, and yet do not worry, as per the sermon on the mount:

"So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

I think it's safe to say that any man who is content with his marriage and whose children are healthy wouldn't trade it for all the casual trout tickling in clubland, all joking aside. But that doesn't mean you have to start now because of visa issues. I'm sentimental about marriage, despite all the red pills, and that's not without my reasons, but then again maybe I'm just more purple pill than I want to admit.

Godspeed, you Asian Emperor.

I dont need an explanation.

Im just asking you to identify the program

There are many visa programs but they all have a specific identifier

CR1
K-1
A-2
B-1
etc, etc

If the program exists, it has an 2-3 digit alpha-numeric identifier

Im just asking under what US visa program does marrying a foreign national afford another foreign national residency?

What is its identifier?

Thats easy...right?

Alright. So I did end up having this conversation and they've have already found a solid 7. Bear in mind, the 7 is just for looks. In terms of values she looks like way higher than that (family values etc). I've never been as confused in my life as I am now... What should I do? The fact that this would be a point of no return for me is whats got me frozen in my tracks.

How about answering my question?

What US visa program affords a non US national a green card by marrying another foreign national?
