Netflix: The Punisher Series

I have been binge watching this show for the past two weeks and it is fantastic. I'd say the third best TV series I've ever seen. The direction, scripting and acting is all on spot and there's no SJW bullshit and minimal girl power. Its alot of action with some pretty red pill dialogue.

Basic story, similar to the comic and the film: High T former marine implicated in a CIA scandal in Kandahar has his entire family killed. He goes apeshit on a mission to kill everyone involved.

I highly recommend it and I think it'll be well received by forum members.

It's phenomenal, I give it 10/10, for sure the best superhero series there is currently. The actor is made to play his role and the action scenes are truly bad-ass. Binge watched this and hope they will make a second season.

Let's see how long it takes for them to add it.

Luke Cage was sorta OK until they jumped the shark with that old fat bitch killing the badass OG Boss over mean words, also they went full retard with the talking killer cliche when the main bad guy had like 5 different chances to kill Luke Cage with the ultra rifle and missed them all on purpose so he could keep blabbering like an idiot.

I'm on the last episode now and I almost want to save it.

It was announced this month they're making a second season. Can't fucking wait.

Netflix: The Punisher Series

This was the first series/ tv show I watched in almost a decade.

Watched the entire series over Thanksgiving weekend - it's pretty fucking bad ass, really good detail and character development (including for a possible season 2).

There's definitely some you go girl in this, but it gets checked quickly.

The backstory is pretty well detailed as well.

Advice:

You need to watch Daredevil Season 2 to understand some characters in the Punisher series.

Punisher is basically in most of Daredevil Season 2

I haven't had a change to do this.

Netflix: The Punisher Series

Looks like I'm going to have to be the stick-in-the-mud asshole on this.

I'm four(?) episodes in and although the writing and acting is good I was expecting a bit more lizard brain stuff. They seem to have already written Castle in as getting soft. When he for some reason fails to execute that gun dealer I found myself thinking "oh shit, here we go." [Image: boring.gif]

He doesn't kill the arms dealer. He doesn't kill the kid that robbed the mobsters despite him being a "former" criminal in the first place. I'm up to the bit where the Indian chick with the boatload of moxy [Image: boring.gif] puts out and I can't shake the sense that this entire series is going to be "Frank Castle kills old, rich republicans."

I thought I'd binge watch it too but currently it's like watching someone kick your dog. What made the Punisher good in the first place was that his scope of revenge was infinite. ALL criminals were fair game and more often than not they were garden variety mobsters. But at the start of this series they castrate the character entirely by framing him as having trouble with the fact that his job of revenge is done and that he has to somehow come to grips with a post-revenge life.

DaFUQ?!

The whole point of The Punisher ™ is that he's NEVER done. As long as some two-bit scumbag is slinging dope on an obscure corner of a city block then The Punisher is hunting him down.

Frankly I think that the progs running these studios just couldn't handle the concept that Castle was the only character most people watching Daredevil actually liked, so they couldn't say no to the money when it came time to make a spinoff, but they refused to write the character the way he was supposed to be written because it chafed against their delicate, progressive sensibilities.

Sad!

Someone please tell me that all this shit is washed away in the later episodes.

It doesn't go that way... Its just him killing CIA spooks. A few episodes later they rip a Democratic senator for being Pro-Gun Control even though hes protected by good guys with guns.

I suppose I should watch it just to keep the ratings up because at least it's a step in the right direction, but really, Castle should be wasting criminals as reliably as he breathes. I was expecting at worst a brutally savage Castle leading towards some sort of redemption arc that would hopefully fall through and lead to a second series.

Instead we got "Frank Castle goes into construction until he finds out there are still a couple of guys left to kill."

I think the second season will just be him fucking people up. My guess Micro or someone from his family gets killed so Castle goes and fucks shit up.

Not quite a dupe thread but The Punisher and all the other Netflix Marvel shows have been discussed in the Daredevil thread - thread-46658.html

Yep, I'm loving this show. I just finished Episode 9 last night.

Punisher actually has some fucking testicles unlike the other Netflix shows.

Some RP truths as well: the Female DHS officer totally blows off her blue pill co worker for the tall and mysterious security contractor. I wonder when she finds out the truth if she'll be even more attracted to him?

I'm with Leonard. I think the series is shit. As a long time reader of the Punisher comics I'm extremely disappointed. The Punisher from the Daredevil series wasn't the Punisher we got. The Punisher from the jail WAS THE REAL DEAL. This hit was a letdown.

sounds like the Ray Stevenson Punisher we got in the 2008 movie is the only real Punisher. if you haven't caught that one yet i'd recommend it. definitely a throwback to the 80's and he didn't hesitate to brutally kill just about everyone in it.

I really like it because he kills a lot of people. The Punisher was the best part of Daredevil Season 2, Daredevils refusal to kill people got very tedious, but then Punisher just came in and murdered everybody-nice change of pace.

I thought the season was over all awesome, although with too much filler material like all the Netflix Marvel shows. My only previous first hand familiarity with The Punisher are the two movies and DD season 2, so while this version might deviate from the source material, compared to the other Marvel heroes this guy kicks and kills some serious ass, with mostly the same excellent acting as he delivered in Daredevil.
Also a few rather bloodily gruesome scenes I wasn't really expecting to be taken to quite that level.

Shame we might have to wait more than a year for season 2.

Just saw this recommended after watching that scream compilation above:

First season was released last month. All 13 episodes at once, as with many Netflix shows.

It has been renewed for a second season, but that's probably unlikely to arrive until 2019.

I wouldn't exactly say he sounds like a pussy, just a pretty normal pitched voice. But compared to his deep, raspy Punisher voice it's definitely quite a huge difference.

I remember the guys in Supernatural getting deeper and deeper voices over the first few seasons. I wonder if deliberate substantial pitch changes can be made permanent if you use them often enough, or if it's too tiresome?

Overall pretty good, his one-itis for his dead wife is the only real blue-pill stuff in here.

The girl who thinks she kicks ass gets her ass whooped by the Punisher and SPOILERS fucked sideways by one the main villains.

@Newmeta - don't watch Hugh Jackman in a musical then, Wolvering will be ruined forever for you then.
