Man starts massive fire after trying to forge a sword in his backyard

Anyway, if I do the datasheet I would rather show making a machete, bowie or survival knife, with minimal tools and money needed, than a sword as it requires more resources. It would also be more "functional" as you can take machete or knife to camping trip and reenact Crocodile Dundee in bars instead of waving sword at tatami and bottles in your yard.

You're absolutely delusional if you think there is anything uncool about waving a sword around in your backyard. If you don't believe me, check out these super cool photos.

The evidence here speaks for itself. Playing with swords as a grown man is super cool.

At a job I got like 10 years ago they talked in the training about being aware of what coworkers we up to.

This story where a guy manufactured his own sword whilst at work, and then used it to hack the neck of the company bully was the example they cited.

Ah, but who was the bigger bully? The bully, or the bully who made a sword with which to bully the bully?

I hope this guy pays extra attention to this situation:

He's using fire and swords to give people haircuts.

So to get both sides of my haircut even I would need two wakizashi's. I must recommend that to my hairdresser.

I was surprised to see this as the next recommended video:

Apparently, using fire to cut hair is an old-time Italian barber thing. I assumed it was just a hipster stunt.

It's 2017, everything is a hipster stunt.

Yeah, but as you two are obviously ovulating in sync already, she has probably sensed this. It's pretty cool!

Shitty turn of events and obviously some better precautions were needed, but I for one support the idea of men being into shit like this. Yeah, some weirdos in those pics above, but I also know some very masculine redneck guys who forge knives and swords as a side hobby.

Knowing how to use your hands to create a formidable weapon from scratch is not a horrible skill to have up your sleeve, in my opinion.

Especially if the shit does ever actually hit the fan.

Is it potentially unsafe? The last thing our society needs more of is banning and shying away from things that are unsafe.

What if he is a male hairdresser? Isn't hairdresser gender neutral term? I don't want to disrespect their profession!

In more recent news, Gomes was sentenced to 1 year in the county jail for this fire.

The man who pleaded guilty to starting the Remsen Street fire in Cohoes last year will spend one year in prison.

John Gomes will spend one year in Albany County Jail after admitting to starting the fire that destroyed several buildings last November while trying to create a home forge. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to fourth degree arson, meaning he didn't intend the damage that happened.

Gomes' sentence will begin immediately.
