The city is quite international and there is always something to do. Seems like some people don't look hard enough. Obviously it's not the most glamorous or "exciting" city in Germany...but it's decent enough.

Who needs to approach anymore if you just have to look "hard enough"

Because I think all cities nowadays are crap for the most part. Be serious, what's so SPECIAL about say, a city of equivalent size in another country? At the end of the day, most places are limited and there are no earthly paradises. Some people here make it sound as if though other cities don't have junkies or "issues". How delusional.

I don't drink anymore, but I do remember Frankfurt for having one of the worst surrounding area beer selections in all of Beer happy Germany (Licher is passable though).
The Hbf there actually dwarfs Hamburg's in sheer junkie population.
The most fun spot is probably the American embassy with the awesome racket they run with the neighborhood's shops (fun fact:it's easy to tell which people are not german around there as they won't reply when you say "hi!")

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

Apple wine is quite good in the Frankfurt area...almost more so than the beers (which are still much better than the beers you get in Southern Europe). I would say this about Frankfurt:

IT SHOULD NOT BE A PRIORITY AT ALL to visit...but if you happen to go there for business reasons (as I did), it's OK and you have to make more of an effort to enjoy it as compared to more touristy "in fashion" cities.

The area around the train station is grubby, but I can think of few cities that aren't that way. Ever been to the literally from hell Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC? In comparison, the Frankfurt Train station looks like the Ritz.

No it's not and you should watch your back.

I live in Germany, travelled within my country and a lot overseas .. Frankfurt is a dirty shithole. I can´t think of any othe mayor city, where you get out the train station and its loaded with Turkish Kebap shops and foreign shops. Of course you have in every city suburbs that are shaped by immigrant communities, but especially in Frankfurt you can see how Germany gives a fuck about its culture. And if you walk around the train station you feel like you are the clear minority in your own country, feeling more like in Arabia or Turkey. And furthermore all the drugies shooting heroine on open streets.
Just look at primary schools in Frankfurt, a lot of them have 80% migration background. 60 primary school directors out of 80 primary schools in Frankfurt signed a petition to complain about the horrendous situation there. A lot parents can´t speak german at all, some of them don´t write or can read even in their own language. Its full of uneducated parents not caring about the education of their children. They even want to get back teachers who are retired, because the situation became really messy within a few years.
Just the future for other german cities .. [Image: sad.gif]

I find Frankfurt a bit underrated actually. The girls are more fashion conscious and feminine than in Berlin. I agree the area around the Central Station is not pleasant. I was just in Munich and the surrounding area outside the Central Station is similar.

Being the major hub of Europe, it is a good entrance into Europe and you can find direct flights to most major European cities. I wouldn't make Fankfurt a primary destination, but there are worse places to be stuck for a long layover for example.

That's pretty much everywhere else in Germany (might make an exception for the gals in Göttingen or eh, Mannheim...)

This is whole Frankfurt thread with ZERO useful data in it.

Can anyone drop some real data in here just in case anyone of us is passing through for business?

I mean fine its a shithole, the main station is bad, and migrants annoy some people here but there HAS to be some quality floating around that city somewhere.

What are the best locations or nightclubs to find the best girls in the city in? This is a financial capital so theres guys running around there with cash and where theres alot of money theres bound to be girls.

I spent 2 long weekends in Frankfurt over the past year. I am in no way an expert of the city but here are some observations:

Along with Munich, Frankfurt has perhaps the best looking women in Germany. There are of young, stylish girls to be found in Frankfurt. Frankfurt is an international city, so there are a variety of girls from all parts of Europe who come to study and work. Coming from Berlin “hipster heaven”, Frankfurt will feel like a breath of fresh air.

I didn't do much Nightlife, but Frankfurt is surprising solid for Daygame. Ziel street has both quantity and quality. Ziel street is the main shopping district with a few malls. You can walk there from Central Station. It is a perfect layout for approaching during the day. The main part of Ziel Street is a pedestrian area. You can approach on the street or in the malls. I didn't see anyone else approaching so you will probably have this area to yourself.

You can also pay by the day at some of the gyms located in the malls.

Precisely -- I'm not going to entertain the anti-immigrant rants from some Sean Hannity types on here so I will focus on this.

Walking around Frankfurt I saw very nice looking women -- serious, well-dressed.
It is EASY to talk to them and I did do that when there was an appropriate opportunity. I was not disappointed - unlike women in Spain (a country I know VERY WELL) they don't look at you like you have 10 heads if you talk to them and from the girls I met most have good topics of conversation and smile more than in Italy or Spain.

Train stations all over Europe have kebabs and immigrants...so it is ridiculous to say Frankfurt is unique in this. If you go to a London train station there are also plenty of druggies and migrants, JUST LIKE IN PARIS OR MADRID OR ANY MAJOR CITY.

I didn't do nightlife in Frankfurt because I was too busy but did go to bars during the day -- there are plenty of options around the central areas and in the surrounding suburbs where you get quiet bars or more popular bars at affordable prices.

And Frankfurt is NOT a shithole -- you get very pricey areas with financial types walking around - you have important banks there (I'm not a supporter of the euro but that's beside the point) and it is an international city. Almost half of the population are expats and there are many upper class Germans around the city.
