Norway creating all-female special forces unit called Jegertroppen

ISIS is shaking in their boots!

Quote:Quote:

...the soldiers taking part are battling to break down one of the final barriers to women serving in the armed forces. They are training to become part of Norway's Jegertroppen or "Hunter Troops" — the world's first all-female military special forces unit.

The unit was started after Norway's Armed Forces' Special Command saw an increased need for female special operations soldiers — particularly in places like Afghanistan where male troops were forbidden from communicating with women. The exclusion of half the population was having a detrimental impact on intelligence gathering and building community relations.

"When [Norway] deployed to Afghanistan we saw that we needed female soldiers. Both as female advisers for the Afghan special police unit that we mentored, but also when we did an arrest," said Col. Frode Kristofferson, the commander of Norway's special forces. "We needed female soldiers to take care of the women and children in the buildings that we searched."

Translation: when there is no active combat, and the men have put down the most dangerous troops, the women will hold everyone's hand.

If you live in Norway & are trying to decide on a career.

A knee or lower back specialist / physiotherapist might be the way to go.
If the training for these chicks is serious, there'll be plenty of physiotherapy required...

I saw this on Drudge and came here to post a thread but you beat me to the punch.

Here's another interesting nugget from the article:

Quote:Quote:

One of the unit's members, 22-year-old Tonje, said the unit is proof that women can do the same job as men, even in the male-dominated world of the military.

"We're carrying the same weight in the backpack as the boys," said Tonje, who did not provide her full name due to the unit's rules. "We do the same tasks."

Those tasks at Terningmoen Camp, about 100 miles north of Oslo, include parachuting out of military aircraft, skiing in the Arctic tundra, navigating the wilderness and fighting in urban terrain.

She added that the weapon, backpack and other gear she carries on long marches, weighs over 100 pounds.

"I'm the smallest, so I carry as much weight as I myself weigh," she said.

No you're not, sweetheart. The "boys" are carrying at least 5x that weight in other training exercises and you can't keep up, that's why Western militaries are lowering standards to let you in.

There's a reason the Bible refers to women as the "weaker vessel:"

Quote:Quote:

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

Their role is keeper of the home. Their bodies were naturally made for it, but that role is slowly dissipating in the West as more corporate propaganda media outlets brand it as "oppressive."

Yet another reason to either flee the West to find a wifey (and bring her back) or look exclusively in ultra-conservative/Christian communities that don't indoctrinate their women with this "you-go-girlism" garbage.

Sometimes I think this stuff is an indirect form of bragging. Like "we're so rich and powerful and safe we can afford to indulge in behaviour that would be suicidal to a *stan or African state".

Similar thing with America, like its goading the world that "we can afford to be hipster fags who speak in up-talk and call trannies 'brave' and spend all day in starbucks participating in reddit SJW circlejerks about gender pronouns on my macbook and we're still stronger than all of you!".

Give five women an uparmored humvee with a flat tire and I doubt they can change the tire without getting hurt.

M1114 weight: 6 tons
Wheel and tire weight: 140 pounds
Spare tire height: about 50 inches midline
Equipment available: janky hi-lift jack, manual tire iron

Better call the wrecker, cause if they try fucking around with that odds are one of them will lose a limb. You know, if they can even break the lug nuts loose.

Maybe Norway has a dogshit military but "helping each other out" isn't something male soldiers need to learn from women.

Women can actually be extremely effective intelligence assets, for a number of reasons, some obvious some not. They can also be an intelligence liability, since they fucking love to talk. Women were very useful to us out in Afghanistan within Military Intelligence, and were able to gather quite a lot of actionable information. They make pretty horrible combat troops, of course, but some specialist units where these women can be put into primarily intelligence gathering roles, and have some semblance of a chance of avoiding being raped and killed in the process, is not necessarily as stupid as it may seem.

One has to trust that although the dictats from on high may be primarily motivated by political correctness, those tasked with deploying an effective fighting force will be savvy enough to use the resources at their disposal effectively. There are many roles that women can usefully fill outside of direct combat. It is worth remembering that SF is, outside of the movies, primarily an intelligence gathering operation. Of course, the men will still do the rough stuff, but an intelligent general could find a use for these girls outside of 'camp comfort'.

Could we think about psychological effect of soldiers fighting alongside these female soldiers? Or what about enemy fighting against them?

I am interested how islamic factions of future european war will react on these females, will they be afraid to be killed by them (some say this regarding Kurdish women) or would they enjoy killing them, or beating them into submission.

In case of brothers in arms, I think it would have negative effect as it will produce something akin to literal damsel in distress situation. I think that was case in Afghanistan and Iraq where male soldiers have been traumatized by death of female soldier or they would make tactical errors in order to help their female comrade who made a mess.

What are your opinions?

In future European civil wars, women will almost certainly be used at first, but not by the nationalists or islamists, rather the states that are governed by neo-liberals trying to hold onto their power, will use women in the military and police (just as in the present) as part of their ill-conceived defense. They will quickly find that these lasses will not last long against either of the aforementioned groups.

The Islamists will show no mercy to infidel whores who try to fight them, they will be raped and killed on the battlefield or sold into sex slavery if captured.

The nationalists will take a more back handed slap approach if the women don't get the hell out of their way, they possibly may take more violent actions if these women side with the neoliberals/islamists.

Basically the world will rediscover why women were not on the front lines or in positions to commit violent force for most of human history.

I'll sincerely try to be objective on this.

From my knowledge/experience of the Norwegian military, to their credit, females in the their military do actually mirror closer to men in their standards and requirements- more than any other military I have ever seen. For example, rooms are mixed (that one blew my mind), and in field training events there's much less emphasis on modesty for the chicks changing, and for at least the basic entry training, it's pretty equalized but those universal standards are quite low. I'm not sure if it was lowered to accomodate women at some some earlier point.

That kind of integration would never happen in the US military, because no commander would ever take on that risk for fraternization, cries of harrassment, etc. I have to reluctantly give Norway kudos for that level of integration, if only because they were able to do it on that level without it being a total cluster.

The problem that I saw with that level of integration however, is that in those integrated units the men lack that kind of raw aggression and comraderie that comes from being with a group of guys with no chicks. Throw one girl into the mix, even a "cool" girl, and the dynamics change.

The physical deficiencies, the injury rates, and the extra burden placed on men is well known by the forum so I won't get into that. But I end with this:

The value of an all female unit, for "intelligence" purposes, is completely useless.

In Iraq they had the same concept, and every single white knight journalist, General, and politician LOVED these all female units as if they were turning the tide of the war. Whatever marginal (at best) value they added with their intelligence gathering, was far outweighed by the burden they brought with them. The mindset was that you HAD to use them on missions, even if there was no need. Sort of like forcing someone to use sledgehammer for some tack nails. If they ever got mixed with a male unit, there was always some handjob action going around, and from an operational perspective, the senior staff OBSESSED about what these female teams were up to - because of their psychological imperative to protect women. The amount of attention and resources dedicated to these female teams was ridiculous and unwarranted and for sure the same thing will happen with these Norwegian girls, because they are "special".

I'll end with a very tragic story that shows my point. In 2007, there was Command Sergeant Major and a Corporal who were both killed together by the same suicide bomber in Iraq. This was more or less during the height of the war, and were several fatalities a day on average. At that point, very few -if any- Command Sergeant Majors had been killed. This is a very significant position in an unit that had a big leadership and mentorship role for thousands of Marines. Several hundred corporals had been killed by that point in the war, and a Corporal may have responsibility for a handful of other troops, if any. I want to stress unequivocally that both deaths are tragic, and their sacrifices were great. But hopefully you see the difference in military significance I am alluding to.

The next day, the Corporal's death and picture took up nearly the full front cover of Stars and Stripes. The Command Sergeant Major was a small paragraph buried in the middle. Why was this?

Because the Corporal was a young pretty woman.

They forget about the Amazons.

Quote:Quote:

The Dahomey Amazons were an all-female military regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey in the present-day Republic of Benin which lasted until the end of the 19th century.

Conflict with France
European encroachment into West Africa gained pace during the latter half of the 19th century, and in 1890 King Béhanzin started fighting French forces in the course of the First Franco-Dahomean War. According to Holmes, many of the French soldiers fighting in Dahomey hesitated before shooting or bayoneting the N'Nonmiton. The resulting delay led to many of the French casualties. By the end of the Second Franco-Dahomean War, special units of the Amazons were being assigned specifically to target French officers.

8,800 Dahomey Regulars
1,200 Dahomey Amazons

Casualties and losses
Dahomey: 2,000–4,000 combat deaths, over 3,000 wounded
France: 85 combat deaths, 440 wounded, 205 disease deaths

I've heard several times that in Iraq the supply trucks were always unloaded by the men while the women watched.

One guy at my gym said he met one female soldier that was badass for a chick but she couldn't lift a crate of 81 mm mortar shells to save her life.

This. You can tell the girls whatever you want for esprit de corps, but this is a FAR better idea than trying to integrate them with front line combat troops. It's actually a clever way to keep them AWAY from the stuff women suck at, and it actually does help to have women for certain stuff. This is actually much better than what the US military is doing lowering standards for elite units.

And I just read the Norway folks conscript all their bitches. So you meet a woman in Norway, she's been in the army. That's not good. The army, even shitty ones, usually don't turn out pretty lay like creatures.

Especially in relation to this, in the Afghan culture women will not speak to men, and in order to communicate with outside forces in a place where spec ops would be, the women, at minimum a translator, is needed to interact with them.

Afghanistan? They're still fighting for that shithole which would devolve into barbarity should NATO leave for even a week? That Afghanistan?

Going on how many years we're still there and with a resurgent Taliban and the pretenders to the throne Islamic State, I wonder if this will ever be called out by the people paying for this country to be sheltered.
