If that's a 3, I'm a 15. She's a zero if there ever was one. I'm debating throwing a few thousand to the family of the guy who was killed. It's tax deductible, right? My concern is that even though everyone is basically saying the guy who died was the salt of the earth, he may very well have some loser, alcoholic, and/or drug user family member who would just by alcohol or drugs with my money. Basically the last thing I would like to see happen.

Right about now might be a good time to listen to Tariq Nasheed's old game podcast about Extra Average Females. (If you're short on time, just listen to the first 90 seconds.)

Its a funny image for mocking people. Doesn't really fit in with this case. Just my opinion.

I gotcha. I don't think your viewpoint is dumb. I just disagree with it

I'm suprised we haven't heard about a gofundme set up for that man yet.

Also, I agree 100% it would suck if someone used it for drugs or alcohol to get high.

But I also couldn't blame anyone in the family that said "fuck it" and got high.

I did see a gofundme that apparently a person who is not a family member or a friend set up. It seemed kind of shady and very surprisingly only had around $50,000 in it last time I checked. It's strange and little disturbing that the old lady who had to deal with those complete scum of the earth, loser kids on the school bus a few years back received something like three quarters of a million in contributions, but this guy lost his life and his family doesn't even get a tenth of that.

Maybe for the same reasons you didn't contribute? I don't really know how it works if you set one up on behalf of some other party. Is there accountability?

It's up to over $83,000 right now, but some was set up by some guy in Arizona who I seriously doubt knows either the victim or his family. I would say that the vast majority of people seeking donations, including those on go fund me, are scammers. That's why unless I physically put money in the hand of the person who really needs it, there is way too much of a risk involved with donating anything ever. Even if I pay it to the right person, the risk that the person will just buy drugs or alcohol then arises.

Edit: The person who started the go fund me thing said, "I am working with GoFundMe to make contact with the victim's family as we speak. GoFundMe will ensure that all funds are deposited directly into the victim's bank account." Interpret that however you wish. I still don't trust it.

True giving is best done without any expectations, otherwise it is more a contract - even if only a mental/emotional one.

Few people can give in a pure way.

The only exception in terms of giving I would make is for drug addicts and gambling addicts. I sometimes give to old bums who will spend it on booze. They won't turn their lives around at that stage and my money is just a gift to someone who is essentially terminally ill and my cash will just ease their suffering for a day or two.

I never give it to younger bums, begging mafia or stupid Gofundmes by deluded Westerners.

So unless that man's family consists of hopeless drug or gambling addicts, then it is a worthy cause to give.

I'd say now is not the best time to bring up Tariq's old podcast, no matter how valid the first 90sec. Considering he used Mr. Godwin's murder as a chance to race bait a current event instead of talking about something true.

I highly doubt it was just a coincidence that this podcast was chosen, that you Scoundrel, glossed over Tariq's bullshit tweet response in this very thread. But I don't know why? To be funny? To defend Tariq? I don't know.

Maybe I'm being too critical but a good man lost his life and Tariq's response was out of line. Then you come along with some podcast about what? How commonly it occurs that a phone caller's ugly oneitis is not worth a response from Tariq? Maybe he should start responding to these people that call in instead of getting all high and mighty and saying it ain't worth his time. He could save a life instead of insulting the honor of a dead one with some fucked up tweet.

Not trying to make this personal on you man, just found the post in bad taste all around. Not funny, not helpful. A man, by all accounts a good man, undeserving of losing his remaining days, got shot dead on fucking lame ass facebook.

Maybe that just resonates a little more for me than you. I'm probably coming across a lot more intense in this post than I'd like, but I don't know how else to say it.

Are you talking about the image of Pepe as the old black man from 4chan?

Sad Pepe is often used for posts about feeling unity over something sad. That's legitimately not made to belittle the victim. It's just thoroughly chan-ish in its character, so that can be hard to catch if you're not used to how they express things.

I didn't see Nasheed's tweet, and I tend to be oblivious to his latter-day work and statements. Tariq Nasheed has gone off the deep end with his race obsession, no question about it. His early Mack Lessons podcasts are still valuable, though.

Nasheed and Heartiste are peas in a pod and present a moral quandary.

Do their current stances on race mean you shouldn't listen to them anymore?

Is it okay to look at their old stuff as long as you stay away from them now?

How far should we take any of this?

Or you could just listen to their race stuff and disagree with the parts you don't like. That's what separates us from the libtards.

I don't think Heartiste and Nasheed are peas in a pod. Heartiste has a better understanding of science and begins with scientific fact, while Nasheed doesn't and cannot.

I am not comparing them on all points, only on the point of game blog turned race nasty.

There's an enormous difference between "race nasty" that at least begins with verified scientific research (such as Heartiste and Charles Murray) and "race nasty" that abandons all scientific pursuits (such as Tariq Nasheed, Carolyn Rouse, and the protesters against Charles Murray).
