White people thinking about studying or working in China choose Shanghai above all the other cities as their first choice usually. The reason for this is because they hear of the pollution in Beijing (even though SH is still pretty polluted), and the heat & humidity in Shenzhen and Guangzhou. So what you get in the end are tons of annoying whites there. It’s also probably the least Chinese style city, or “China lite.” A good introduction city for a newbie who wouldn’t be to handle ‘real’ China.

You guys should be trying to deter others from coming and badmouthing the city if you really think competition is blowing up, not talking about how great it is haha.

I will be moving to Seoul soon for a new job related to the military, but I'm no longer actually in the military so I have freedom to travel. As a white man, I speak a intermediate level of Chinese - not that great but good enough for pickup. To this day, the hottest girl I've banged was a Chinese actress I met in Seoul, and I don't think it would have been possible without my language skills.

With that in mind, Shanghai has definately caught my eye as a daygame location I want to visit (Shanghai seems to have the reputation as best city for game in China), possibly during back to back weekends during my time in Korea. I know China has a 72 hour visa free policy but it requires you to be in transit to a 3rd country.

So I was wondering if China has a policy similar to Russia's 3 year tourist visa you can get as an American citizen?

Something that allows multiple re-entry over the course of 6 months to a year or longer.

If it's a lot of trouble, I may just end up going to Hong Kong or Taiwan more often so I can still use my language skills to access higher quality girls.

As an American you should be able to apply for a 10 year multiple entry visa. But you can only stay for 30-90 days per entry.
The Chinese Consulate has the final say on the number of days.

I think the city is too big to care about exoticism. All the young talent goes to the big business city and plenty of those people would have interest in foreigners, so I wouldn't worry about it. I haven't been to Shanghai, but I've been to Shenzen and there are plenty of expats there. The only pro Shenzen has is how cheap it is and you can go to HK reasonably easy.

I agree that K girls are generally hotter than Chinese girls, no disputing that. BUT, what I've noticed with Chinese girls is that the hot ones are really hot, can give the hottest K girls a run for their money as well.

Now, as many of us know, the hottest girls in foreign countries tend not to speak English because they can use their looks and not their brains to get by. I believe this is a significant factor in why I haven't cracked the very top tier in Korea yet - don't get me wrong, I've banged some HOT K girls, but not the very top tier. Thus, I want to go to China to try my hand with the China top tier, knowing that lack of language skills won't be an issue.

Honestly, I'm slightly more excited to daygame in Vladivostok, Russia (2 hour flight from Seoul) than I am China, but I really want to see how I fare in Shanghai. In the world’s fasting growing superpower, there are a lot of reasons why people are here.

Lots of Chinese people use ‘western’ social media networks via VPNs. You tried one that didn’t work out for you. Have you tried the others? VPNs are a constant testy topic but there will be one that works after awhile, we’re talking about China here.

One of the girls even said "you seem like such a gentleman" due to me actually trying to have a conversation with them compared to the retarded caveman shit other guys were trying to pull on them.

Two of them went to sit down at a table, so I managed to isolate one of the other girls near the edge of the dance floor, a 7.5 Shanghai local, and at one point she said 你笑的时候显得更帅 (you look more handsome when you're laughing). Took this as a green light to start dancing with her, which she agreed to, but she just wasn't really feeling it despite my attempts at escalating. Eventually they all went and sat down, and maybe I should've sat with them for a bit, but they said they were tired. Tried to add the Shanghainese girl on WeChat, but never got a reply. Went home after that.

In hindsight, I shouldn't have spent so much time with the Chengdu 6.5, I thought it was a case where if I just persisted enough, it would happen, but it just ended up fizzling out. There were def some other cuties in the building that I could have approached. I think I'll finally try a different venue to start off next time, waking up reeking of cigarette smoke from Perry's is starting to wear on me.

One question: How is your day game looking like? It says here you’re asian so I’m assuming you’re ABC? Do you get a drastically different reaction when you open in English during the day? I can speak fluent mandarin and am considering a personal tour of China soon. I do mostly daygame and while I understand experiences will vary drastically whether you’re in Shanghai or in the deep countryside, I would still like to hear your experiences.

Yep I'm an ABC. Day game isn't my thing, as I'm generally very busy during the week/day. The level of English here is also such that opening someone in English here during the day will often be met with a blank stare, even though Shanghai is a fairly Westernized city. The rat race mentality among regular people here doesn't help either, and adds to daytime bitch shields. That being said, if you're all about day game, and that's your forte, you should do quite well here with your aforementioned language skills. Stick to more touristy, or busier areas in the city center (Jing'an Temple, along Nanjing Road should be good talent-wise) for better English skills, and you should be good.

The kinds of people that go out to bars/clubs here are more likely to know English, and thus opening in English during night game is more effective for me. You're right that Shanghai is drastically different from the rest of the country, the first place that I'd recommend outside of Shanghai is Chengdu. The information on the forum about that city is from a few years ago, but for the most part still holds true, as I was there a week and a half ago. Curvier, more approachable, and in my opinion easier girls, not to mention sightseeing nearby that blows Shanghai out of the water. You should def make that part of your trip.

Appreciate the reply. It would be my first trip back to China in about 7 years. Last time I was there, I was a teen and it was a family vacation.

I tend to have a fusion of Chinese and English mixed in my openers. I always open in English to establish I'm a foreigner and then only switch to Chinese when communication breaks down. I can also do the "white guy/ABC speaks Chinese" accent that Asian girls love so much. Never fails to get a smile whenever I 'struggle' to speak their language.

The earliest I can do this trip is in April or I could push it back to July. Is it warm already in China in July? Which would you recommend if you only had to consider 1. weather 2. girls (if it affects at all)

I can also do a much much longer trip in July (about a month) but only about 10 days if I go in April.

I didn't rely on exotic value while I was in Shanghai but I just noticed that Shanghai is declining. It's still a good game destination like I mentionned earlier( still 10 times better than any european city in terms of easiness) but the amount of thirsty foreigners coming in definatly has taken it's toll. Like for example when I was dating a few chinese chicks before in Shanghai, at least 2 of them were dumped and cheated before by a foreigner and because of that, they had a higher bitch shield. In 2nd or 3th tier cities in China, you won't have this.

Another thing that influence game in Shanghai a lot is that it's a come and go from people. Most people stay their for 3 or 4 months for an exchange semester or internship or temporary work and than head back home( mostly because of the visa situation atm), it makes it easier for game. But It's a city with over 20 million inhabitants, so off course, plenty of oppurtunities to find your niche. Being Club promoter is also a very effective way to get laid in Shanghai.

To recommend other 2 or 3 th tier cities in China for gaming, I recommend Kunming. I had a great time there again. I'm considering to set up a base camp in Guangzhou or Shenzhen, anyone has been there?

Appreciate the reply. It would be my first trip back to China in about 7 years. Last time I was there, I was a teen and it was a family vacation.

I tend to have a fusion of Chinese and English mixed in my openers. I always open in English to establish I'm a foreigner and then only switch to Chinese when communication breaks down. I can also do the "white guy/ABC speaks Chinese" accent that Asian girls love so much. Never fails to get a smile whenever I 'struggle' to speak their language.

The earliest I can do this trip is in April or I could push it back to July. Is it warm already in China in July? Which would you recommend if you only had to consider 1. weather 2. girls (if it affects at all)

I can also do a much much longer trip in July (about a month) but only about 10 days if I go in April.

No problem. Yeah girls love that struggling-to-speak-Chinese-accent here, I find myself naturally doing that as a way to pique their interest more.

Most of China is oppressively hot and humid in July (daytime highs above 30 C, I'm from the northeast US so I can't stand it), aside from Kunming, which Spursfan suggested above. Weather-wise April would be perfect. I don't think what month it is really affects girls here, the only thing I can think of is that 清明节 (tomb-sweeping festival or something like that) is on April 5-7th, so a lot of girls might go home to where they're from to visit their families' graves, but it's also a long weekend for people who don't want to go home. But if you don't mind heat (I think you said you're Singaporean?), a month in July versus ten days in April would probably be better.

圣诞节快乐 (Merry Christmas)! Went out two nights in a row this past weekend. Got laid last night.

Friend of mine flew in to Shanghai from Chengdu where he was studying, and rolled with me both nights, but wasn't too helpful. Went to C's to start off Saturday night, got there around 11:40, not that many people for a Saturday night, but enough to fill the tiny dance floor. They were playing deep house, which I'm usually not in the mood for unless I'm drunk as balls, so I wasn't really feeling the vibe. Opened a 7 on the dance floor who was wearing a full sweatsuit (lol), but didn't really pursue her much. Stayed for maybe 25 min tops and left, probably won't be back to C's anytime soon, despite the cheap drinks. We rolled over to Perry's afterwards, and stayed there for maybe 2 hours. Opened a three set of Thai chicks, but my friend wasn't really feeling them. Isolated and danced with one of them, a 6, but she went to the bathroom and then just disappeared (her friends couldn't find her either). Opened a shit ton of other girls, don't remember too much about being there Saturday night, since I was also there last night. Hit Myst around 2:30am.

Opened a 6.5 HK chick and her friend, danced and made out, but she wouldn't abandon her friend. My friend had left by then, which was a shame because he could've occupied the other girl. Got her WeChat, and they left at 4:30ish. Started dancing with this tall, curvy Korean chick, who initially laughed at my dancing (like she thought I was a joke or something), but I didn't give a fuck and just brought her in closer and started straight on grinding with her. Damn I haven't danced with an Asian who could move like that in a long time. Made out with her, but she left, as she had to catch a flight the next day. I finally went home at 6:30am, latest I've ever stayed up on a night out.

Went to Perry's again last night and stayed for close to 3 hours. I opened a ridiculous number of girls, probably too many actually, because I'd start talking to them, something would happen that would separate us (crowded as fuck there), then I'd come back to them but forget their names (not a good look). Had a decent conversation with a group of 4 who went to NYU Shanghai, a Spanish chick, 2 Shanghainese girls, and a Filipino dude. I befriended the dude first, which helped out a bit. The girls were all hot, I guess I was a little intimidated, and it ended up fizzling out though. Danced and nearly made out with a Shanghainese 8.5, don't remember how I managed to blow that one, but saw her making out with some taller jacked dude later (god damn). Also got blown out big time by a Malaysian 7. My friend didn't really help, because it was crowded, and I was approaching so many girls and he wasn't as in the mood I guess. He left early, and I went to Fusion at 2am.

Had trouble getting in initially, as they were charging cover that I wasn't expecting to have to pay, but I'm friendly with the head DJ there (social circle!) and he got me in. Met up with the HK girl from the previous night. Danced a bit, but she wouldn't make out with me this time (don't know why). Her friend was ok with us at first, but we went to the bar, and she somehow ended up talking to 2 other girls, who started boxing me out and not letting me get to the HK girl. Well shit. Cut my losses and started approaching other girls. Started talking to a Shanghainese 9, but she wouldn't dance with me.

It was 4am at this point, and I was about to leave, but I saw one Chinese-American girl dancing by herself who looked pretty hot, an 8 or 8.5 upon reconsideration (posted that she was a 7 initially). I think some dude was trying to dance up on her or something (So many guys here do that instead of trying to talk to girls first, they just look retarded. Oh well, less real competition for me). I used the classic "where are you from?" that girls here are super receptive to, and not only was she from the US, but she also lived in my home state for a few years. Quickly bonded over the fact that neither of us had seemed to run into too many other Americans that night.

It was hard to hear, as we were right next to the dance floor, so I isolated her, and we found an empty couch. Conversation was fairly normal, I hadn't even tried sexualizing it, but physically I was getting closer to her, and not breaking eye contact. At one point there was a brief break in the conversation, our faces were super close, and she just started making out with me. Got real handsy rubbing her over her clothes. She was there with a younger guy friend, and the guy had been dancing and making out with this other chick for like 3 hours (wtf). She said he was like 17, and this was his first time getting action like this, but she wouldn't leave unless the guy left. But she said "I mean, I'm pretty down tonight, I just need to make sure he gets home safe" (she was like chaperoning him or some shit I guess), so I knew it was on. Dude finally left, we left too, back to her place, no LMR, banged, and went to sleep. Didn't have a condom in the morning, so put on her big ass coat and made a condom run to the nearest convenience store, I must've been a real sight to see at that point haha. Got back and fucked all morning. I was her first Asian guy (score one for the Asians!) even though she's Asian herself. Finally finished up around 1pm. Hottest girl I've been with in my life.

Will be going to Nanjing tomorrow morning to do some sightseeing, and bang a Taiwanese chick that I smashed a few weeks ago in Shanghai. Fun times these days.....

Might be my final Shanghai field report for a while, as my LTR is back in town, so my only opportunities to game will be outside this city.

My chick in Nanjing ended up getting really sick, so I was just there sightseeing myself. Kinda nice, but it made me come back to Shanghai feeling a bit sexually frustrated. Went out this past Saturday, first to Perry's (Changshu/Huaihai Road), then to Myst, as has become my somewhat routine now (live fairly close to both). Pulled a 6 Laotian chick with a fat ass and decent rack (I def have a type) from Myst super late at night (basically early morning by then).

Pre-drank at my place and rolled solo to Perry's, got there at 11:15 and immediately opened two French chicks near the entrance, one I feel was sort of into me but pretty drunk, a blonde 8. I'm not as into white girls, so I started losing interest soon, and ejected after a few minutes. Opened a few decent-looking Chinese girls here and there, but seemed to have more approach anxiety this night than before, not sure why. Also ran into a few guys that regularly go to Perry's to game and got to know them a bit.

Started talking to two Koreans, a tall 6.5 and shorter sexier 7.5. The 6.5 was more into me, as her English was better (damn just my luck), and we sat down at a table right next to the dance floor. Talked about cultural differences, and our experiences with each other's countries (honestly 70% of my conversations with foreign chicks here cover these topics). Her friend started talking to this tall good looking Chinese dude, and they were hitting it off, so I suggested to my girl that we hit the dance floor. Man, Korean girls just know what they're doing when it's time to get physical more so than any other types of East Asians. Danced for a bit, made out quite a bit, but just wouldn't leave with me that night, but she kept telling me "just come to Korea". Got her Instagram, and might try to seal the deal when I go to Korea in a few weeks.

Was kind of frustrated by that encounter, and wasn't feeling Perry's anymore, so bounced to Myst around 2:30-3. Approached a few groups of girls, but no dice, until around 4:30ish, when I tried talking to this Laotian 7 or 8. She wasn't really feeling me, but she introduced me to her group of Thai and Laotian dudes and girls, maybe 6 or 7 of them in total. I think they had a table initially, but being the fun people they were, all of them had migrated to the dance floor by that time. They pushed this curvy 6 towards me, and at that point of the night I happily obliged and started dancing with her.

She told me her brother was one of the guys, which was a red flag for me, but I was determined to get some action, so I started talking to him, and shot the shit with him for a while. Still don't know if I would just let a dude get with my little sister like that if I were in his position lol. Lightly made out with her a couple times, before the whole group decided to leave and chill outside the club for a while, and eventually go home. They just sort of accepted that I was going to take this chick home, and were perfectly fine with it, as I dropped the fact that my place was walking distance from Myst. Brother told me "take care of her man", and left us to it (wow). Got back to mine, no LMR, but was so tired that I fell asleep halfway through smashing. Woke up at 10am, and she was gone (damn), but hey, picking up a new flag was nice.

Ended my "single" period of a little more than a month with 5 lays from going out 8 times (1 Tinder assisted), definitely surprised myself with how well I did, as I consider myself fairly new to game, although I groom myself well, am in very good shape, and have the advantage of looking Chinese, being near fluent in Mandarin, but from the US. Looking back, I definitely became an approach machine, which didn't hurt, and rolling solo as I did most of these nights made me just not give a fuck about what people thought of me. Going forward, I feel like going solo will be my method of choice when I do go out, and it's certainly given me a ton of confidence about myself. My LTR is a good girl though, so I won't be doing much messing around now that she's back. She'll be leaving the city for good in a few months though, and that'll be a day I both dread and look forward to......
