Even if they don't vote her out, I don't think Germany is going to suffer a massive invasion anymore. Fact is Trump will end the wars in the middle east by killing ISIS, so it is doubtful there will be massive refugee waves entering the country in 2018 and beyond.

Congratulations, you've stumbled upon the crux of the matter. The whole idea is that they haven't even determined yet if he is an actual "refugee" with the corresponding right to stay in Germany. This is determined through a bureaucratic process taking several months, during which he is allowed to remain in Germany. Considering his origin, he is in theory likely to deported in the end, but by that time he will already have disappeared.

Also make no mistake: The average German is utterly fucked in the head. Short of a large scale massacre of women and children (100+ deaths) by refugees on New Year's Eve, people will vote for Merkel again, no matter how many incidents of this kind occur.

They first expanded it to include people from countries that are not at war but are dictatorships like Eritrea, Iran and various -stans.
Then to include anyone from a country afflicted with terrorism (the irony is staggering, I know) like Nigeria and Pakistan.
Then to include anyone from a very poor country like Bangladesh and several African countries.
Then to include anyone who wants "better economic opportunities" because "everyone deserves to have a chance to become wealthy" (just remember that these same leftists love railing against consumerism and wealth-seeking), which in comparison to Germany is pretty much the entire world*.

And then on top of that there were no border checks because having a poor "refugee" wait in line for a few hours is dehumanizing, so anyone from anywhere could just enter freely, including the very terrorists that these refugees arr supposedly fleeing.
