I don't usually gamble because I have a very addictive personality, but I thought I'd put £100 on Trump in this case (at 4/1 as I left it late). Was a nice little bonus. After following the Trump thread I felt pretty confident, and regret not having put a grand or so on.

Wow July 27th 2015. That must be the earliest bet, I don't think anyone could beat that. I'm suprised the odds weren't 100/1 or something. It would also be interesting to know who got the best odds. I managed to get odds of 11/1 but that was at 8pm November 9th as some of the states were being called for Hillary.
Kieran and Samseau you should both be asked to be put on the list. It's not about how much you win but just the fact you put your money where your mouth was.

Gotta give a big shout out to this forum(once again) for convincing me that betting on Trump was a smart move. Been following the Trump thread since the beginning of the year, and after listening to the wise sages of this forum and other alternative news sources (Bill Mitchell, Scott Adams, etc.) I was sure he would win. All the mainstream media was doing was saying he would lose, but the data and trends were pointing to a Trump win. It was really a perfect storm. Upon hearing the good news, the common reaction from friends was "Wow, how could you bet so much, what if he lost?" But this was never a bet to me, I always viewed it as a smart investment.
Back in late July I bet about 3k when the odds were only around 2/1 for Trump, since I didn't think they were gonna get any better. But then the Trump tapes hit and the odds jumped back up to about 5/1. So I got another 2.5k on Trump around 5/1 odds. Wish I would have had more money and just bet it all the morning of the election, as the odds were 5/1 the last time I checked, but of course I can't complain! Cashed out 6k on predictit and about 17.5k across 2 other betting sites. Made roughly 17.8k profit off my 5.5k investment. Still feeling the high energy from when I got home from work that day and saw the GREAT news!

I won just over $1000 on $300. First "sports" bet I've ever done. Now to decide whether the most American thing to do with it is buy an AR-15 or invest it into the business I'm starting.

Paddy Power paid early Hillary Clinton victory bets, in a PR and publicity stunt.
Luckily, it backfired terribly for them:

While I've tried my hand gambling at the casinos this is my first time seriously betting on an event (even considering Melbourne Cup was earlier this month).
The first $1000 at 3.25. I had already read the Donald Trump forum and was convinced enough by the analyses of the forum members here. $1000 was a "safe" amount for me, and if it was lost it wouldn't be a big deal.
The second $1000 was because the odds had lengthened to 4.0. I was like "Hey, free money!", and I had enough on hand.
The third $1000, the odds had lengthened again to 5.0. Similar reasoning to the above.
As time passed I followed the odds as closely as I could, shifting from 5.5 to 2.7. Sportsbet allows early cashouts and at shorter odds my returns would have been higher. As more news reports came out, I did become more concerned if Trump could overcome any election rigging.
Just prior to the election, there was a point when the odds reached 10.0! While I knew rationally that the odds only reflected what other bettors think, at the back of my mind I was still wondering "Is this evidence that Soros is so confident of his rigging?"
I was at work during the election counting, and was checking my phone in between dealing with guests. As the votes came in, I watched Trump gain more electoral votes and the odds plummeted, while Clinton's shot up to 14.0! I was fist-pumping behind the scenes.
As always, there is always 20-20 hindsight - if I had cashed out at 2.7 (returning around $4000) and then bet right back in at 10.0, I could have won ~$40,000. I probably wouldn't have acted any differently, but it's always interesting to ponder how you could benefit more.

I think you can bet in both AUD and USD on betfair. I bet in AUD since I live/work in Australia.
seems like Scott Adams actually bet on Trump winning (he never mentioned how much he wagered and won). I suspect he was the unnamed individual that made 2.5 million USD.

I won $372 on a $93.5 USD bet (6.5% got shaved from $100 on the website I used). Not much compared to many here but boy did it feel sweet texting that completed wager screenshot to all my butthurt liberal friends and acquaintances.
* Will share screenshot in PM if I need to to get on the spreadsheet. Has my real name on it

I'm ready to put a modest $250 down on Donald Trump Jr. for President Elect 2020. What kind of odds can I get?

Personally, I don't intend to "spend" my winnings, I'll keep them around as a little reserve for a rainy day
However, I AM preparing to maybe to some stock bets on the upcoming French/Germany elections. Preparing means I'll be talking with a buddy who is a trader, doing my research on markets / trading basics and trying to decide if I found something where I feel there'll be a movement caused by the election results. This step of mine is just in the preparation phase so far.
