At least one person has been convinced because of Trump's performance last night:

The comment above is a great example of what's going on. This is what H1N1 and many others don't get about Trump's campaign.

He's running a NYC POPULIST campaign. Think about it. Trump has lived through 50 years of elections in NYC. Republicans don't win often, but they manage to do it from time to time with guys like Rudy Giuliani and others. And how did those campaigns win?

By appealing to the working poor. The welfare class votes democrat (and is mostly black/latino) but the people working just to make rent hate the rich and usually never vote. But the working poor in America outnumber the other classes by probably at least 2:1. There are tons of women in this group as well.

So for a NYC Republican to win in such a blue state, amidst all the voter fraud, there has to be a MASSIVE turnout among the city's working poor. And that means speaking out on their behalf, and attacking the rich out of touch upper classes as viciously as possible. A good populist campaign energizes the poor into voting by slamming the rich as hard as possible.

Thus, Trump is just using NYC style class warfare on a national level to beat Democrat domination after 8 years of Obama rigging the system. That's what you're seeing at the Al Smith dinner.

As I campaign in NH, the biggest predictor of whether or not a house is voting Trump is by looking at the quality of the house. If it's a poorer apartment or smaller house, the people inside are voting Trump 2 out of 3 times.

These working poor get shit on all day every day by the elites, for years on end, with no relief in sight, so for someone to finally relay the big "FUCK YOU" to the rich at the top is an amazing way to win votes.

Sure, Trump may piss off 1/3 of the country, but he was never going to get their votes. The other 2/3's of the country love it. Trump was having fun at their expense. Zero mercy and it made the little guy feel powerful for a change. The little guy will pumped to go cast a vote for Trump, and these little guys normally never vote.

It's a strategy most guys on this board aren't used to but you're learning from a man who has lived as Republican in blue city for over 50 years. He has seen what it takes to beat the Democratic machine before, and he's using the same strategy for the desired result.

He's playing to win in a supposed democracy - that means getting the working poor vote because they are the biggest class. This is why no matter how much Trump is slandered or abused in the press, he still is keeping on pace against Hillary in the polls that matter because he has the working poor on his side.

You'd be foolish to underestimate the effectiveness of this strategy - look at how many tinpot dictators in South America have risen to power using this strategy? Not saying Trump is a dictator - I'm saying no one can deny the effectiveness of a populist campaign.

Trump's Roast of Hillary at the Al Smith Dinner

Absolutely savage.

Yes it was.

There is a difference between 'having them eating out of the palm of your hand' and 'overplaying your hand'.

Politics is a dirty game. It's dirty because you don't stab your opponent while you shake his hand. You stab him when he turns his back. It's called 'diplomacy'.

Trump overplayed his hand in that video. He had a rare, rare advantage - casting a spell and having all his opponents off guard, liking him, no, loving him. His magic being: going close to the edge, but never going over. You never go over, you never go full shitlord in someone else's house - it's just rude.

And then he went over, and he spoiled the magic, the magic you can't buy, the magic you can't plan for.

It gained him nothing. But he showed his hand too early. Never let your enemy know how far you are prepared to go. That video showed a shot across the bows. There was no need for it. I believe it did not serve him well. It made him enemies. All he had to do was remain neutral, likeable, charismatic, the Alpha in the room who commanded respect.

Trump sent a signal to voters - I'm on your side and will take these bastards on, ruthlessly. But he sent a bigger message to his opponents (who are out to stop him at all cost) - he must be stopped now, at absolutely ALL COSTS. He telegraphed his intentions. Not good.

Trump has nothing to gain or lose from the voters now. They will all vote for him. But he has a lot to lose from the powers that pull the strings. This gross insult will not go unrebuked.

Battles and wars are not won or lost by kings and queens meeting with their counterparts and exchanging the best insults. That is not how great fights are won. They are won by out-maneuvering the other side once some kind of advantage has been already won, whether that be the enemy thinking you are stronger than you are, or weaker than you are, sometimes matters little. You catch them off-guard.

Do I respect the Don a little more for doing what he did? Sure. I just believe it was ill-advised. And will be counter-productive in the long run.

He's not out to threaten the establishment - they already know he means business. He is in the business of winning new voters. And it never works better than by being charming, magnanimous and generous in your outlook. He had it all. But he overplayed his hand, when he had them eating out of his hand.

Not that this matters a jot, in the grand scheme of things. But the 'optics' are still important for the undecided voters. Just another viewpoint. And one worth considering.

Being diplomatic does not make you any less of an efficient killer, it makes you more so. This is my only argument about what he did. He wasted a rare advantage.

It's small potatoes though, and the Trump Train rolls on. Certainly nothing worth falling out over. But sometimes things have to be said.

Because Jesus was so diplomatic when he threw the moneylenders from the temple, right?

I believe he just rustled the jimmies of the anti Trump, and won over more undecided voters at the same time.He just needs to keep exposing Hillary for the crook she is. The MSM won't do it so it, so he's just left with the platform he is given.

Is it any wonder why they say "the love of money is the root of all evil"? I found this online and thought it was at least somewhat relevant and worth sharing:

Quote:Quote:

Jesus did not go to the temple to cleanse. He came to the temple to announce the destruction of a whole way of life. Those who operated the temple had no power to silence Jesus and put him to death. Those powers were held by the Roman retainers.

The charges that were leveled against him can be summed up as insurrection. There were three specific charges: encouraging non-payment of taxes, threatening to destroy property (the temple), and claiming to be a king. It was the temple incident that took Jesus from being an irritating, but harmless country rebel from the rural north to a nuisance in a city that controlled the great tradition. Rome’s retainers killed him on a cross.

In other words, Jesus wasn’t sentenced to death until he challenged the money changers.

Watched this a few times this morning with my GF. She said "this is what you do at dinner parties".

I don't know if it helped or hurt him. But I do know it was glorious.

And credit where it was due. Whoever wrote the line about Trump rating the statue of liberty a four, that's funny stuff.

I've given this some thought, and The Donald would be in the right to dislike the Statue of Liberty. Why? Get ready to put on your tin foil hat, gents! [Image: tinfoilhat.gif]

Quote:Quote:

The world-famous statue is located in the New York harbor, and was presented as a gift in the year 1884 from French Freemasons of the Grand Orient to their Mason Bro's in the United States. The statue was designed by well-known French Freemasons, sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi.

The Statue of Isis was first known as Liberty Enlightening the World, but is now more commonly called, the "Statue of Liberty." However, we must ask ourselves, "Is she truly enlightening the world, or is she actually the Goddess who keeps our illumination in the shadows as she holds the light above in her torch, only to hide the truth from the profane (uninitiated) of the abyss (sea of humanity) who are kept in the dark?"

A secret that keeps most of the population of the United States in complete ignorance as they are cast under the wicked spell of Isis. A Goddess of both Heaven and Hell.

It's no secret how Mr. Trump feels about ISIS, so I think it's only fair to assume The Donald would say...

I hope he survives, too, but the Left would be making a serious mistake if someone took out the Don. JFK became a martyr because he was assassinated. I think if he'd not been assassinated odds are on he would've been remembered as another Bill Clinton: a young but mediocre President that eventually would have been shamed out of office for his affairs. Obama will be remembered as a shit President mainly because the Secret Service was too good at its job.

Jesus had achieved some impressive miracles and worried the establishment of his time, but his worldview, his mindset, did not conquer the world until he was murdered under a rigged judicial process.

But more problematically, she revealed during the third debate the most important and decisive secret of the US military!! Namely, the response time for a nuclear counter measure. [Image: dodgy.gif]

This should have been the top news all around the world, I mean, Hillary inadvertently revealing the time delay between presidential-decision and nuclear response. The most sought-after secret of any nuclear power... Entrust a secret to a woman, and watch...

Also worth noting that Jesus preached forgiveness and his followers didn't have 300million guns.

Trump? Not so much.

Those two details might alter the immediate aftermath...

I loved the way that Mr Trump subtly patted Hillary on the shoulder as he took the podium. She must have HATED that.

Check out this screen cap. The way everyone is focused on Trump gives it this "The Last Supper" vibe.
