Had this situation a few times recently. You're going for the pull, have them in the building, coaxing them up the stairs – when they stop. They refuse to come in the door, because they know what will happen. I've not been able to get around this one. Anyone dealt satisfactorily with this?

Had this quite a few times. This is the second LMR stage. First is when you make a decision to head toward your place or hers, 2nd is at the door, 3rd is at the bed.
If you are passed the first stage the chances to get pass the next one are in your favor. Persistence is the only answer. Talk, convince, find lame excuses. In the end of the day that is all she needs. An excuse to not feel like a slut. Take the blame.
Agree to all she says but keep pushing.
Last time I had this staircase LMR I was literally fighting for every step and every floor. The doors are the hardest to pass. What a struggle. And how good it felt when I managed to overcome the resistance.
The harder the LMR the more girl will respect you for overcoming it. Yet sometimes if you fail you might never see her again.

More details would be welcome. But I'll go into the little detail you gave.
In my view you should not have to put effort in getting a girl in your place at that stage (front door, stair case etc). What I mean is, she should already be on the level that the decision to come to your place has been made before you go to your place.
Possible exception if she was driving you home. But even in that case, either she comes up or she doesn't. If you have to put effort into her coming up the staircase, there's something wrong.
I haven't once had this problem. Why would a girl come to the front of my house to go home? Need more details for your situation
