Why Are Men Still Marrying--The Church?

As a boy, I had grown up in the Deep South in a Christian environment which had only amplified my (former) beta tendencies. Growing up, we were taught "old school" PUA by being a gentleman and being an honest, responsible, provider for the family. Of course, I've since taken the red pill, but this post by Herbal Essence in The Spearhead's comment section in "Stop Looking for a Wife" resonated with me on a personal level:

Quote:Quote:

“As for the Christian preachers out there who say that all you have to do to obtain and keep a wife is provide and be godly, they are liars and fools who pervert the message of their professed religion. ”

Christianity has many sins to answer for, but this is near the top of their worst crimes. Any man who comes even close to the tentacles of the modern Church is going to be confronted with constant male-shaming, female-pedestalizing propaganda.
A Churchgoing man is under constant pressure, both from society at large and his religion, to sacrifice himself to some woman. Even worse, the Church holds women to few standards of conduct as long as they shout “Hosannah” on Sunday and promise to vote Republican. When their family is a success, the woman gets the praise for wifely and motherly talents. When the family hits a rough patch, the husband is blamed for not exercising godly leadership.

^^^Ding ding ding!

This is so true. I have personal experience to back this up.

The male-shaming part comes, in part, from the rise in single motherhood. Single moms who were working two jobs to provide for her children were praised for her good traits, while the church lamented over the lack of available of "good men" and instructed the churchgoing men to be good fathers and providers. (Of course, the mother's slutty ways and her conscious adult decisions were never really expounded upon.) It never really hit me until much later that BOTH of them entered the bedroom willingly as adults.

Churches are conforming to culture.

Like it or not, for much of Christianity, a man was considered to be the head of the house and to lay down the law. He was a real MAN. Today, when confronted with scripture that says that women are to "submit" to men, many church leaders try to rationalize this away as just "respecting" her husband, but, in truth, the man ought to have the final say. The guys who wrote the Bible knew a thing or two about women: they like to be lightly dominated.

And, as many of you players probably already know from your experiences with women, they really do like to submit to a man. I believe it was Mixx that said that doggiestyle was all women's favorite sex position.
