He's not the richest man in the world, and no one knows anything about him.

Biggest takeaway from this topic: Going Strong loves allegedly conservative Spanish people, and hates "nerds."

This conservative (because he is a conservative, he didn't give any money to Hollywood charities, I need no further proof)...

How the bloody hell is that proof he's a conservative?

By that standard, the next girl I pick up at a nightclub and do at my place later, who doesn't give a damn about politics and doesn't donate a dime to any leftist charity or cause, qualifies by default as a "conservative" I've slept with.

This thread has officially gone bonkers. Conservative does not mean non-active leftist.

I can spot a Conservative by seeing what he does, or what he carefully avoids doing.

This man was undoubtedly under massive pressure to give money to leftist organizations (to "promote Zara's image"), and give interviews to CNN's Zacharias, all billionaires are. Well, he (almost) never gave in. I think he's the only Western billionaire who never gave a cent to Clooney or the likes, and never appeared on CNN. It means something, it tells us something about this man's mind.

"Conservative does not mean non-active leftist.": I disagree. Any public person who is not engaged in active-leftism, is a (secret or not) Conservative.

Bill Gates deserves to be the richest man, because his company's products have the done the most good. Word and Excel dramatically transformed and increased the productivity of all people and business around the world, not to mention the Windows OS itself. I still use those two applications on a daily basis.

"The billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates has told the BBC that the United States "should set a better example" by taking in more refugees.

Mr Gates said his home country "had the capacity" to follow the examples of Germany and Sweden, who were "to be congratulated" for welcoming migrants.

On the other hand, our Zara Spanish billionaire never said a word about the undocumented migrants, never gave them money. This in itself speaks volumes. The man doesn't care about SJW peer-pressure, does only what he wants and totally disregards MSM...

Is this viejo really thread-worthy?

Just because one conservative, mind you we don't really know if he is, guy is wealthy doesn't mean they all are. Also if you look at the Forbes list of billionaires the rest of Top 10 are leftists/globalists.

It's as silly as if I went to any large coastal, liberal*, Democratic US city, found one 25 year old virgin. Then I ran to rvf and starting a thread with a title of:

Quote:Quote:

NYC/Boston/LA is Full of Chaste Women Who Hate Clubs, Alcohol, and Hooking-Up with Strange Men

Ortega, like my fictional 25 year virgin, is a statistical outlier. People get rich creating solutions and products that people want...anyone can do that regardless of their politics or values.

OP is falling for the halo effect: He shares Ortega's politics/values and is trying to link Ortega's conservatism to his success in business. If his conservatism was the key to his success would there be more conservative billionaires. Going Strong's hamster is spinning at Mach 3 right now.

I like those liberal coastal cities and don't really care for the sudden shift towards toward conservatism in the manosphere in the last 2 years. I came to the forum to learn to get as much money and pussy as I can in my 1 life and can't do that as a conservative society.

He is probably a conservative because he unapologetically refused to expand into USA because "the people there are too fat". I recall making a thread about that in my early days.

Other than that, we have no idea who he is or what he thinks. Obviously he's very superior to Cucksperger, but that's it.

I'm separating what a person did to earn his money from what he decides to do with it or his own personal beliefs. In my mind they are mutually exclusive.

Dostoevsky was a mess of a man in many ways, but it shouldn't prevent him from deserving to be regarded as the greatest writer of all time.

From a business standpoint Gate's products changed the world for the better in a way akin to the lightbulb. That's all I'm saying.

This isn't the dominant view in tech circles, where Gates is reviled for having retarded innovation, crushing non-proprietary standards, bullying competitors, lawyering, wielding quasi-monopolistic control, etc. These practices did not benefit consumers. Microsoft products are widely used because they're widely used (networking effects), not because of their high quality.

I notice that we (members on this thread) had disagreement on whether Gates is, or isn't, a nefarious "faggoty nerd married to a plain-Jane", but, nobody denied my such characterizing of the Facebook guy, whatshisname. Good, at least we agreed on something.

Anyway, "Space Cowboy" complained that my thread was "useless", it certainly was useful... to him. He (if male poster) after all, got 2 rep points from it. For writing a couple of one-liners, of no-value negative and snarky posts: not bad, Space Cowboy, well done.

I already noticed by the way that Left-leaning members distribute between themselves rep points for no-value posts. Sad, unfair and low-energy! Here's to give you high-energy, haters:

Here's how I view the post drama in this thread..

Lots of hilarious back and forth but.. I really don't see anything wrong with this thread.

Going Strong is bringing to attention a person we don't know much about. How politics intertwines in it is interesting to read about. Whether or not he's a closeted globalist is irrelevant. It's still an interesting background story of a man who came up from nothing and became a lot.

I came from absolute nothing and built a modest business so I respect guys like this and like reading about how they achieved their success.

There are deeper insights into their character there that go beyond politics.

There are deeper insights into character there that go beyond politics: I agree. Especially, consider that this Spanish guy spent like ten years sewing clothes with his wife in his living-room, before making it big and becoming a millionaire, and soon billionaire. What resilience, commendable power of will, fruitful sacrifice and trust in his commercial vision! Much respect!

With hardly 100 usd in his pocket, he starts making clothes in the living-room of his small apartment of La Coruna, pajamas and underwear. He'll have to work 12 years to open his first commercial shop in his native city, on Torreiro street.

Going strong, want to show the stark contrast between a bitch facebook millionaire and a man who in span of decades became a multi-billionaire that kept himself ground to reality. Ortega does inject himself in politics to indulge in signaling his virtue to the masses. He is quiet man that knows how his workers are doing and enjoys the simple things in life. Compare to pirates in silicon valley who actively fuck over their own people for a chance to make a quick buck, it breathe of fresh air when looking at Ortega.

Again, the guy is personally admirable for his austerity and his hard work. But he's just making more stuff for the global fashion / mass media / social media mill.

Feminism is 90% a product of the market: women spend more on things they don't need, so they needed to be freed to be able to make and spend their own money, because this boosts economic growth. Women's employment and "liberation" is a stated goal for aid programs which aim to boost economic growth in developing countries. Because when they made money, they spend it. It's not a secret.

"Fashion" is the constant excitation of material desires for status and glamour in women. It is part of why women want to trade up with men.

This is his product:

I see your point. But the very few times I entered (with women, in malls) a Zara store, I had (not that I was looking closely, granted) the impression that Zara's products are not so bad, quite ok looking, not very degenerate (even though you did find some bad, beta tee-shirts above, sure)... Let's say, Zara is not perfect but probably (or so I hope) above average in terms of design and principles?

By the way, I never said that this Spanish man was perfect: once or twice in his life he had to bow, a little bit, before globalists (Caritas got to him, at the end, but just once and for pocket money), but, it's not too bad... I mean, almost all his life he maintained his independence and hard-work principles, and humble -though successful- profile. He also got himself a (second-spouse) woman much better looking than the homey Facebook wife (and he divorced in good, gentleman terms with his first wife)...

Anyway, once again: what I find the most remarkable is, this man persevered ten years (or twelve years even!) sewing clothes in his living-room, so strong was his commitment, his trust in his business plan, and then he made it to billionaire. Ten years working like a dog, with one thought in mind: "I will succeed, I'll keep on!".

I don't know how conservative Ortega's political views are, but his lifestyle exemplifies the lessons of The Millionaire Next Door.

I'm thin but not short, so I have trouble finding cheap clothes that fit me in the US. Zara and Uniqlo have often come through for me. Zara's line is so limited that supposedly it's common to see someone else wearing the same shirt you have on but I never notice that kind of thing nor would I care. I hate clothes shopping and Zara makes it relatively painless.
