Part of the red pill is that we have found out, too late for some of us, that having a well-rounded life and a diverse, interesting collection of experiences is essential to our development as men. It is essential in having a fulfilling sex life as well as having a fulfilling life overall, and leaving this world with no regrets.
We will encounter people who want to deny us this well-rounded life throughout our lives. You will often hear, in your work as well as in your hobbies, religion, social functions, etc., platitudes like "dedicate your life to this, man", "you aren't sincere about this unless you really live it and have true passion for it" and "live it or leave it." You should run like hell every time you hear this and don't look back. These are people who want to steal your time and your youth from you for their own gain. This is literally the technique that cult leaders use. It especially works on directionless, impressionable, emotionally fragile young people who believe that there isn't much to their lives and who haven't realized that their life is the sum total of what they do. Make them think your scene/cause/religion/career/whatever is all there is and all there ever will be to life for them, and question their sincerity/integrity/whatever if they don't dedicate all of their time, youth, and energy to it and forego having a well-rounded life. It's one of the most insidious forms of cultural Marxism there is.
This is especially true for a music scene. A lot of small, tight-knit niche underground music scenes are full of these kinds of cult-like platitudes, particularly the hardcore and punk scenes. Every other band will have some variation of "dedicate your life to this scene, maaaaan" and "live it or leave it" - the latter has even been a t-shirt slogan for various different bands. A music scene is the most silly and inconsequential thing to dedicate your time and youth to. Don't do it. The ones who are smart aren't. They are seeing the bands they want to see, going to the shows they want to go to, maybe being in a band for fun themselves, and developing their lives in other ways as well. These music scenes are full of cultural Marxist ideas and the application of "live it or leave it" in these scenes are there for the purpose of graduating its more naive members into "activism" where they dedicate even more of their youth to the spread of cultural Marxist ideas, or even just preparing them for a corporate job where they will hear similar platitudes.
Some of you will hear it at your job too. It will be the justification they use to overwork and underpay you, keep you there for most of your waking hours, and suck the life out of you at the expense of your well-roundedness and development. "You gotta have passion for this or don't do it", "live it or leave it." More cult-like platitudes. They will use you and then move on after they burn you out. Run like hell from them and find a job that lets you go home at a reasonable hour and live like a human being. Putting that kind of work in for anyone else other than yourself is a dead end.
Maybe the only place where "live it or leave it" actually applies is your own business. This is something you genuinely do have to live or leave, because it's something you build from the ground up. Having your own business being a "live or leave" situation gets a pass from me because it's something you do for yourself and is therefore part of your development, and is necessary due to the nature of owning a business.
Otherwise, there is absolutely no need to "live it or leave it" in most life situations. Be well-rounded. Have a variety of different experiences. And for heaven's sake, study the behavior of cults and cult leaders and run like hell from anyone you hear cult-like platitudes from. They won't pick up the pieces when you wake up one day with your youth gone, no life experiences, no social skills, no job skills, and no nothing else full of regrets and having missed out on life because you "dedicated your life to this maaaan" and "lived it instead of leaving it." No matter who it is, you'll be left on your own and they'll move on to the next one and burn him out. Run like hell and don't look back.
This is, of course, preaching to the choir for most red pill men, but, there may be some young impressionable people lurking on this forum and reading this post, and, frankly, everyone needs to know cult-like platitudes when they hear them.
