Kinda getting the feeling from looking around that low interest rates have made it more or less impossible to find good passive investments.
Is that about right?
A massive wealth transfer from the middle class to the wealthy. If not for mass ignorance and increased government welfare payments to the middle class, people would riot in the streets if they knew the truth. This will end in tears.

If you want to study this are in depth, go to the Mises Institute, study the Austrian School of Economics, and read the books listed in their store.

If somebody just refuses to pay you on one of these things, do you have any recourse at all?
It sounds just like unsecured loans.

I'm fairly sure this is one of those things that everyone talks about when they are getting paid then they go quiet when they aren't.
I'm in private equity, feel free to PM if anyone is interested. Similar to REIT's but private with higher returns. 20%+ IRR on each project we do, with an estimated 5 year hold
I'm actually trying to come up with some investment ideas and in the meantime I have quite a substantial amount of money on T-Bills, just so I don't have it idle on some bank account.
Quick question about the p2p lending... is there minimums you have to invest? And is it simple to get into?
Could probably get a better return on investment by making and selling sluts.

As someone who bought into lending club a few years back and picked a lot of D E F G loans that went tits up, no you have no recourse. I finally got back in the black with the earnings from the good loans. Learned my lesson to only buy A B C loans. The recoveries are crap, I got $5 total out of $200 in charged-off loans.
