25 years old, tall and relatively good looking. Was in Ios last August for 5 nights.

Had very similar experiences to previous posters. This island is high tempo, for me to hit this tempo I had to consume lots of alcohol and most days ended up drinking too much.

Travel: Ferry from Athens. This ferry stopped on many of the islands on the way to Ios. No real opportunity to talk to girls/pull on this, no one was drinking or partying.

Accomadation: Stayed in Princess Sissy, good hotel/hostel with a bar downstairs that also was the reception. Chilled there most days and was a great place to get talking to new arrivals. Best place to stay on the island is Farout or Francescos. I think accommodation is key, girls you talk to there and more likely to be the girls you end up getting with later in the night.

Nightlife:

The first night out there we arrived late and headed straight out, was not prepared for the high tempo and wasn't in party mood or drank enough. Spent the night in Sweet Irish Dream, this place really becomes a cock fest the later the night gets.

The rest of the nights got more into the swing of things. Made out with a few girls, one 8 from the US that was working there for the summer but she went off with some other working dude by the end of the night, Irish Dream again.

Farout Beach Club has some great day time parties, was getting on well there but drank way too much. Again a lot more guys than girls there. Great place to open girls that you can potentially lay latter in the night.

Had sex in the sea with a UK chick (a 5 at best) on the final night. There literally is no where else to have sex on the island. Hostels are all packed, beaches are open and people on them at all times. Swimming out a bit is the only option I can think off.

Lots of Aussies, Aussies dude are killing it in terms of bodies and beach fashion. Hard to compete on those levels. Aussie girls only seemed interested in Aussies guys. Some Scandinavian girls there, good looking but hard to get any where with plus didn't see them out late. UK + Irish girls = easy. Some real french stunners there, got on really well with them in the hostel but didn't bump into them later any night. Got the feeling the Scandinavian/French girls would not be the type to be having sex on the beach like the UK & Aussie girls.

Overall you are going to have a good time in Ios, be prepared to drink a lot though! Any questions I would be happy to answer if you want to pm me. Also this was my first post so bear with me!

Yup, it is still a college crowd. 19 to 24 mostly. However you do get a lot of people that are island hoping that are older mid to late 20's.

I've been wanting to party on the greek islands. It seems like Ios is primarily for Aussies and Brits. I heard the scandanavian girls party in rhodes.

Sucks the OP struck out, I suppose it was rookie-dumb mistakes. Always Daygame everywhere - essentially never stop gaming. If you're just relying on night/club game you've got to have superior game - good looks and very drunk girls. Also, if you're striking out all the time, perhaps just hit on the fat girls or any girl for that matter, rather than go home empty handed. Its vacation, who cares if the girl is fat or uglish.

No doubt in Greek there are many islands for spending holidays. I have only visited one island of this region. Rhodes is a beautiful island of this region. In fact, in these days, I am also going there for enjoying my some days with my friends. What say about this?

I Have found greek girls to be ugly in general, not very different from the ones in the US, fat, hairy, loud, hooked noses and nothing special. On the other hand, they don't even go anymore to crowded touristic places anymore.

However the islands are beautiful places and it depends what you are looking for.

For me it doesn't work like that anymore, I went for the last 2 years in Croatia and also liked a lot the Albanian coast and services and the traditional atmosphere around the place.

In those islands you will find from pretty swedish girls trying ONS every night, to drunk brits, drink aussies who will not remmber who they banged etc.

Depends what you are looking for.

A lot of Aussie culture is gym or surfing or football/rugby/rowing or non-physically intensive cricket which is primarily aimed at sledging (aggressive verbal takedowns).

Then you have a huge alternative music side too for the inner city uni educated guys who don't buy into the meathead game. When there's that guy in Thailand strumming a guitar by the fire he's probably an Aussie too (if it's a ukulele it's 100% an Aussie).

When you grow up in Oz you're used to gaming at a high level - don't leave your girl even for a second, take her outside to the smoke area or outside the venue ASAP, a lot of it is protecting your girl from other guys swooping in. They swoop fast, it's considered a sport, the girl is the prize and you the opposition.

I know this thread is a couple years old, but I just got back from a few nights on Ios, as a mid-30s dude who's generally laid back (read: exact opposite of the loudmouths that thrive in the club scene). This was part of a structured island hopping tour, not strictly for gaming although I was certainly open to possibilities, being single.

Most of what the OP stated is pretty much on-point, with some updates I'd like to offer for those considering a visit.

TL;DR for the impatient: unless you're young yourself (say, < 27), and thrive in caveman-style bar/club game, you should skip Ios.

BACKGROUND

There's basically two main groups that completely dominate the island this time of year: Aussies in the 21-25ish age bracket, and to a lesser extent Scandis that just graduated high school (in the 17-18 yr old range). You might find a tiny amount of local Greeks and other Euros, but because of their very small numbers they're not worth discussing.

Unlike what the OP stated and what you might expect given it's a beach scene during the summer, I saw practically no jacked dudes. Just the garden-variety skinny-fat young kids running around being loud and obnoxious. They are, as wilberforceeggmont noted, harmless and just out to have a good time.

And yes, this is absolutely, positively not the place for the laid-back style of gaming, or verbal pick-up. At all. If that's your manner of picking up chics then don't even bother coming here. To even get noticed by the Aussie women on Ios requires being as much of a monkey as you possibly can - loud and drunk as fuck, stumbling around, etc etc. You guys know exactly what I mean. I noticed this was predominantly an Aussie thing - the younger Scandis, oddly, were a bit quieter. I don't know if this is standard Aussie style of pickup or just the type of Aussie the Greek Islands attract, but this is what your competition is like if you plan to come out.

GAMING

As stated earlier, it's mostly Aussies followed by Scandis. There were definitely a decent number of quite attractive Aussie women, but for hook-ups they'd stick to their own. Many travel in mixed groups and end up bumping into friends, or friends-of-friends and hook up that way as well. I'd say 99% of women either already came with a guy they were screwing or would hook up with a guy from their own country.

There are practically no low-key bars (save for one or two that were just 'meh'), pretty much every place has blaring loud music with a dancefloor - even the tiniest of holes in the wall are like this.

ROUND-UP

I was only here for two nights in total but learned quickly that it's not for me. I'm at least a decade too late to this party, but for those on the young side with tight club game, this should definitely be on the radar for a summer jaunt. Come for a week, and come with a wing (or two) as that will help quite a bit.
