Agreed! There's a bit of that position around where I am at in Canada. There's a rose coloured glasses approach to the indigenous people as if everything was all happy fun time before whites came and then claim there was genocide but the majority that died were from not having the same immunities to diseases that the whites brought with them. Many of them did not even have a written language or even agriculture. They got wrecked. So blame mostly is on influenza, and smallpox.
It is very sad what happened to them. Very sad. But to glorify 3rd world conditions is rather odd. Technology has made life quite good for some. Having to hunt game and fish for salmon seems pretty tough and boring in comparison to fast internet, heated rooms, running water, and gas stoves plus all the entertainment provided by our current way of living.
We can complain all we want about Western Civilization but its made great achievements in science, philosophy, music, art, etc, etc. Why would we want to dismantle a so called patriarchy? I think some of these left wing types need to read up on the history of Western nations such as Germany. Maybe look up Goethe or Mozart. That would be a good start.
