Moving to L.A

Hey guys I was wondering where I could stay if I wanted to move to L.A long-term. I'm looking for a change and the only thing I'll have under my belt is an Australian teaching degree. Since its all new to me I was hoping you could give me the basics for moving to a new place. I.e. finding a job, accommodation etc. I just need a good background before I can commit to this move. Thanks

Why L.A? There's more financially sensible places to live.

Try searching. There is one thread in here I am sure that would answer your questions.
I took a peek through your post history, mainly just asking people to answer questions for you.
I only did it because you have been a member since 2011 and 62 posts.

Good question.
Why LA?
Unless you're trying to get into the entertainment business or something like that, moving to LA is not that good of a move.
I've lived there for a long time. It took a long time for me to start liking Los Angeles, it's a weird city.
And I have talked about LA in another post around here. So it depends on what you're looking for.

Looks like the average salary for a teacher in LA is $50-70k (if that's what you plan on doing), and I find that to be a pretty low income to live a pretty good life in California unless you live pretty far inland where rent or home prices aren't insanely high. Depending on the city, a pretty good spot in LA will probably run you $1,400-1,800 USD for an apartment (obviously higher the closer you are to the beach).

Your teaching degree will probably be worthless. You can MAYBE be a substitute teacher or teach a private high school which pays horribly. Find another hustle, move here and figure it out. This city is all hustlers who are in non-traditional industries. The bad thing is, you'll be paid horribly, your best bet is to see if you can be an uber/lyft driver (getting a license, car, insurance and if you'll pass the background check) while being a fill in substitute teacher at various schools around town.

Better hope that Australian teaching degree transfers over the U.S.
You might need some more schooling depending on your credentials. I'd stay the fuck away from LA to teach, maybe branch out to south and east of LA, maybe even Orange County a 30-45 minute drive from LA.

If not LA, where in USA do people recommend?
Some place with a lot girls, not that expensive, easy to get a round and fun? Would love to work in USA but it would not be easy without green card.

The cost of living in LA is around $2k/month if you want to live in your own apartment by yourself without getting a roomie.
The cost goes down if you get/become a roommate. You can live a fine life for around $1400 even $1200 (paying around $600 in rent for a room in a 2 bedroom with a friend).
You can't go out much in LA or expenses will increase a lot, going out in LA will cost you an min. $100 extra per day out (specially if you like to drink).
There's tons of options for eating, and you can talk to girls on the day time and save youserlf money, it will cost you nothing and there is still tons of girls walking around.
Actually Tinder worked for me in Los Angeles, I even went out with a model that I met on Tinder in LA. There's tons of options.
Other cities to consider:
San Diego, CA (although there is more guys than girls)
Miami, FL
Las Vegas, NV (it's cheap to live there, but outside of the Las Vegas strip it's a boring city... but there will be tons of girls all the time)

LA is none of those things. Sure they're are girls but gaming is more challenging here. I'd say one of the most difficult cities I've lived in and I've done the northeast, Florida, deep south and Midwest. I also live on the beach though... Which is a sausage fest. It gets better going inland.
It's expensive as fuck with high taxes.
You must own a car. The public transportation is garbage in LA. Only exception is if you could bike to work but you'd be confined to your neighborhood and areas within Uber range. I don't know anyone who is carless in LA.

Perhaps in in 1985 LA. If you want to live somewhere clean and safe and not in the burbs you're looking at 1200-1400 minimum per person.
If you want to live in SoCal go to San Diego.
