My background is SEA. My great grandfather had the same arrangement, and it was his first wife that went out and found him the younger wife. 2. Polygamy means barbarism. Two women for one man. If every man did that, there would be serious violence or societal death due to insufficient birthrates (one man cannot support multiple families with time or money as a single man could and there are far less children as a result). A pastor is supposed to be the moral leader of the community, a blameless man for others to emulate.

3. Shows that priesthood is about obtaining worldly goods, and not spiritual goods. The message to other guys in the Church: "I need to join the ranks of the Church so I can get laid!" This rot kills a Church in the long run because the community members stop going to love each other, but instead pose as social climbers. A tremendous amount of corruption and decay to the Catholic and Orthodox Churches have occurred in exactly this manner as well. Eventually the laymen stop going to Church and say "Fuck you" to the hypocrites leading it, with many of them becoming atheists and dooming themselves to Hell. And pastors like this one will share the great burden of this sin on their judgement.

This is actually true. And one of the reasons I think that today there's resentment over older man/younger woman pairings is because a lot of we Gen X-ers saw our women being taken by older, divorced Baby Boomer men and hated it. This is a form of "soft polygamy."

I remember getting my first job at a local newspaper and being really happy there were lots of women around who were my age. Then I found out time and time again, they were either having affairs with the older married guys or were dating the divorced ones (in one instance, an older spurned wife of one of these men came into the building and caused a huge scene).

Anyway, ours was the first generation where we had an inordinate amount of divorced men in the next age bracket. This really did affect our dating pool and if there's "age prejudice" now, it's probably because this went on so much and left so many guys out in the cold.

That said polygamy should not be tolerated in our times with a deep female shortage in the West. It's not the women who will have problems with that - it's the men.

And yes - it's infitinely better for a hot 8+ girl to be the mistress to a wealthy man for a few years and then later become a loving wife to another man. That was the case in Europe up until the 19th or even mid 20th century. In Russia that is still valid - be a mistress from age 18-22 and then try to marry from age 23 on.

The carousel riding and Alpha widowdom are unrelated to the above mentioned situation of upper-tier men having mistresses.

So no:

1. Polygamy should be banned unless there is a massive male shortage - all examples in history show that it was crap for development as you got a huge unmotivated male underclass - this is still the case in many Muslim countries by the way
2. Mistresses for top-tier men cannot be avoided. This will always be happening. But it's a huge difference between being the mistress to one wealthy bloke than to riding the carousel and fucking NBA players and doing Dubai trips non stop until age 28. The first activity may leave the girl even more or less innocent, but the second will leave her emotionally rotten.

So no - I don't condone the pastor's actions - he has enough kids by more than enough women. I for myself plan to have only one mother of my children and it's by far better to have some honey on the side than to spread your seed like Attila. European aristocracy had it right - one wife, heirs from that and then mistresses for fun. That's way more stable than the Ottoman's empire backstabbing and harem craziness.
