As Italian (from the deep south), let me tell you a little story about italian players:

first of all there is a huge difference from the people living in the south and those living in the north (which is way richer). It is generally accepted that in Italy the girls from the south are somewhat more conservative and hard targets than those living in the north (some says northen-italian girls are rich and slutty), so most of my fellow southern Italians are driven by need to develop some better game strategy even to get some basic lay compared to those in the north.
I know personally guys from the south that moved to the north and started scoring lots more than when they were at home. The life in the northern part of Italy is way more cosmoplitan and less social-circle-based than in my place, hence you don't actually need good game to get laid sufficently.
Northen Italians are for many aspects colder and similar to central europeans. The last real natural players in Italy very very often come from the south, especially places like Neaples, Sicily, Calabria and so on, where life can be kind of "complicated" and you need some very good survival skills just to get by.

I am no big player whatsoever, but I do have the example of these two guys working with me in Slovakia and they are un-fuckin-believable. First of all I have to make clear that they are both short, even shorter than me (we are talking 5'6" or less!), and in a country like Slovakia that's often a big minus.

The first one is an older 65yo guy from a southern region of Italy (Calabria). He is short, not good looking, doesn't have a lot of money, but the man is a fucking approach machine. He's always stilish (jacket with handerchief in his pocket, well groomed, nice shoes etc...) and he consistently approaches every single women within his range of action (young, old, fat, thin, he just stays away from the real pigs), all day long. He has somehow managed to completely eradicate approach anxiety, seeing him at work sometimes is unbelievable. His game is somewhat arguable if you are even 30 or 40, but in his age range, approching with a smile and complimenting the women (rigorously in italian) and playing the "old Italian gentlemen" works. On top of that this guy dances like a devil and I have seen him even trying to excalate on waaaaay younger women. They let him do his thing because he dances well and he looks old and not too dangerous, but he definitely has a killer instinct. At the end of the day, with all the limits from being 65yo, not rich, tall or good looking, this guy is consistently bedding 40-50yo women (so some 20 years younger than him) and on top of that he is always living with some different woman (at her place) rotating every year or so. This is probably what the "old Italian school" was, and where Italians got the player reputation in the past. This kind of reputation is mostly gone here for the new generations, sad but true.

This other guy is in his late 20's. He's working as a peddler in my food retail company. Short, not particularly good looking, and no particular language skills. I have seen him pulling incredible stuff in some expos and events we worked. I have seen him consistently number "closing" girls in minutes, as they just pass by our stands. He is an incredible salesman and due to his particular job he doesn't know approach anxiety too, he just keeps speaking italian to the girls, puts in a few words of slovak, german and english, and apparently gets consistently laid. I think this guys secret is his face, he would tell the worse shit in italian to the girls always with an impertinent cocky smile, and they would just laugh and hand him over their contacts dating him after work... (he actually hands them a notepad and a pen and show them to write their number, it just works!)
Funny note: sometimes the girls did spoke italian and understood all the shit he tells them (do you want to fuck? what a sweet ass! Mamma mia, some stuff I would do to you! and so on...) but he is still doing this... rather successfully too. Somebody could say that this is no game, but it works really great for this guy! He's just a shameless cocky Italian matherfucker and women love that.

What happens now in Italy is that most of the guys for a series of social and economic reason became much different from what we used to be in the past. They live with their parents, they have no job or shitty part-time jobs, they don't want to travel to find a better life, no interest in studying other tongues or in anything that could better their lifes... it's just laziness all the way. Becoming a real player is a difficult path of self improvement and is not compatible with being a lazy fuck! The two guys I mentioned above have travelled extensively trying to make a better living and even now are living abroad far from family and friends trying to build something, they don't even know that game is a thing, but they are getting premium game skills from their strong survival instinct and drive for more life. In the past many Italians had to be creative, innovate and travel too, just to survive and maybe improve their lifes, this is when we got the good name. What happens to Italian playership now is that this last generation (and my heart is in pain as I say this) is mostly lazy spoiled fucks! I know many guys that are in their middle 30's, no job, no gf, maybe a notch count of 0 to 5 in their whole life. Then one day they buy a discount ryanair ticket to Bratislava for the weekend and they think they are going to score easy because they are italians in eastern europe, because their basic knoweldge of the world is stuck somewhere in the 80's and they still think they are coming to Czechoslovakia... then they just end up being ripped-off in strip clubs. If you judge Italian players based on these individuals, then you are damn right in saying italians are bad players!
Look how some older 50-60yo well-travelled italian rolls, or the very few young ones that are living abroad and travelling consistently (not talking about myself in particular here!) and you will see the real italian players, or what is left of them!

Didn't mean to make the thread all about italians, every country has their top players, but I think it was the case to make this point clear.

The few italians players i have seen here in BA are like PLayer G describe, mostly older dudes, or with a good travelling experience. The younger ones tend to be a lot lazier.

If guided by my patriotic feeling, i would say that the argentinians are the best players, but my experience tell otherwise.

Having lived in 5 countries in 4 continents and having been party organizer for international students at a university in Europe for 3 years, let me give you my assessment.

-Spanish: in general they have the basics to have many girls; appealing looks, rich culture, good reputation and so on. However their culture is pretty beta. Spanish woman are hard to crack and they seem to determine the rules of the game. So the guys basically do romantic stuff, get LTR, are not very macho , etc. True players are hard to find. I think Catalans are probably a bit better as well.

-Eastern/Central Europeans: many of them have unappealing looks for woman which set them back, also less attractive perception of culture, they can be pretty direct sometimes but often too direct,... not impressed.

-Italians: some strong players there indeed, but also plenty of nerdier guys etc. It might be true that there are regional differences. Anyway not bad overall, players can be found here.

-French: overall pretty decent, girls love their accents/culture and lookwise there ok, they do pretty well but not really based on skills, more on culture and not being lousy in any department.

-Germans: too introvert/cold in general, not impressing.

-Belgians/Dutch: pretty decent outside their countries, they are a bit a mix between Germany and France in culture and it can suit them well. Dutch have the height advantage as well. Belgians the fact that they speak many languages.

-Brits: often pretty macho and they can be decent players, but lookwise they are not topnotch in womens eyes. Still Ive seen some with game, mostly very direct.

-Americans: a bit similar to British, but very big regional differences offcourse. Main setback for them is mostly the bad name of Americans in the world, in general Europeans have a much better name then Americans in the world. Americans are more game oriented though. In general Id say weak game, but with some top outliers; mainly guys who truly learned game as many on this site or others having grown up in NY,LA,Vegas etc who were born in it.

-Brazilians: they kill in Europe/US/Africa, strong game by these guys + the attractive exotic associations made with them and cultural aspects like dancing etc. Even popular within their own continent. I think they are probably top notch in this regard. If you are a handsome brazilian with money to travel, you can get an unbelievable notch count I think.

-Indians: lol (to be fair I know one guy with good game who is Indian, props to him)

-Chinese: not a chance

-Australians/white South Africans: these guys can compete with Brazilians, often they are strongly build, have an appealing accent, not poor in any way, come from a culture where partying/nightlife are high quality.

-Turkish: very direct macho game, looks are decent with good clothing, but they have a bad name. They get mostly the sluttiest ones.

-Moroccan: similar to Turkish but less looks/style, bit better talking skills and a lot worse name.

So overall, players level, my take is:

Australians are popular everywhere in Europe. In fact I think they are popular everywhere in the world except perhaps for the US/UK. I would say Brazil and Colombia are tied for number one. Ecuadorians someone mentioned it and they can awesome as wings.

My little grain of salt: the typical italian player to me was Marcello Mastroianni (watch the movie "la dolce vita" which is also a classic movie), classy, educated and smooth talker, the latin lover at it best.

Typical french player, hmmm I don't know, to be honest I have the feeling the best players in France aren't french but I highly recommend an old movie ("L'homme qui aimait les femmes" directed by François Truffaut), the typical french player is alpha but in a subtle way, it is not about being drunk and throwing punches like brits or australian, it is about seducing women and handling them without making lot of noise, not sure what I say makes sense.

Spanish and brasilian have a lot of success in Europe mainly becasue of the laid back spanish lifestyle and exotic factor for brasilian. I think for the ones who get laid a lot, this aspect helps them A lot.

The only factors that effect it are obesity, smoking, drinking or hygiene. Hence why some might say the average Dutch guy beats the average American or Brit, as less of them are either trashy/chavvy or have dropped out of the system if you like.

I think for 99% of the time, your personal individuality will override any stereotype about men from your country, especially in real life instead of online. Turkish guys (often with a good reason) are just straight-up ignored online, but could kill it in real life.

Taking myself as an example, I've seen some guys say that Brits are known for being loudmouths/drunkards/trash when abroad. This is true to an extent, as the world watches the scum of our country pile in to the Mediterranean islands each summer. But it is obvious to a chick you meet in a bar in say New York that you aren't that type of guy.

I also don't get the 'drinking culture' thing? I thought in most Western countries people start drinking at 14/15? That's what the majority do here, can't be that different in America?

That's why I said this thread is just entertainment and can't be taken seriously as it involves mainly stereotypes and our perception of other nationalities.

Stereotypes must be taken just for what they are, generalisations which can be sometimes true but often wrong.

There must be wonderful and amazing people from Australia, but not the bunches that we see in Europe. Don't know why the Spaniards have so much reputation. Maybe once it was a great player nation, but the times must have changed.

I'm studying currently in Madrid and none of the Spaniards seem to be anyhow aggressive or very active. Even the Germans have much more self-esteem and are more outgoing.

My sample size of Spaniards:
15 in university class
3 Flatmates
4 met in Tokyo during exchange semester
10 social circle of a good friend

~30 Spaniards, which most of them I would describe as (very) lazy, beta and even shy. PlayerG wrote about the Italian players from the past and the same might be true for the Spanish.
