Selling Coupons on ebay

I recently moved from one address to another. When you go to the post-office, they give you a change of address form which has a crap ton of coupons inside. There are Best Buy, Lowes, Pottery Barn, etc encouraging you and the wifey to spend tons of cash on your new home.

I took the entire packet of coupons and sold them on ebay for $30 using templates. I didn't bother listing the ones that had low value, just focusing on the ones I could sell for decent coin. I sold a 10% off coupon for Best Buy for $14.90 and emailed the guy the code right after the purchase. Encourage the buyer to take email receipt instead of having to mail it, cutting down on overhead.

Thoughts for expansion:

* Sign up for every major retailers coupon mailing list (snail mail)
* Sign up for major retailer email lists (print out valuable coupons and sell them, making sure they aren't linked to your specific account)
* Grab extra change-of-mailing address forms at the post office
* Look through your local newspaper (usually the Sunday edition has the most coupons) and post them online. Find out if there's a recycling center dude who can help you out by saving the coupon stacks for you, then cut him in on the deal

I spent less than hour listing all the coupons and with templates, it could have been even faster. This is a business that is scalable with a little bit of effort, plus there is virtually no overhead. You won't get rich doing this, but it is easy cash for those who don't like complexity. Enjoy gents.

I mean the absolute bottom of the barrel top 0.1% dumbest people on earth may buy into this but I just don't see this anything more than a complete waste of time for just pennies in your pocket.

This reminds me of junkie hustle, a desperate attempt to get a few bucks cash to get the next hit.

I did something similar before. An airline was giving away $20 of flight coupons so I collected about 10 of them. Listed them on eBay for a few bucks with a buy it now and sold out quickly. Ended up making $50 from coupons that didn't cost me anything and were obtained in a few minutes.

The key is to collect them for free, that way once sold, you have a near 100% profit margin after ebay fees. I just woke up to another $40 in sales.

It seems like a lot of effort for not a lot of return, I believe eBay limits the amount of coupons you can sell per month to 25 or $100. They also don't allow "free" coupons to be sold. eBay is getting strict with policy stuff and if you get banned it's for life so make sure you follow the rules.
