Roosh's Eye Contact Test applied to different countries

I've just re-read an excellent article by Roosh from 2013 on one metric he uses to gauge whether a foreign dating market is favourable or not to males, called the "Eye Contact Test":

"I can tell if a country is going to be good to me within two hours of landing. I don’t use any complicated formula or system. I don’t count sex ratios or do test approaches to feel out the vibe. All I do is notice if girls are making eye contact with me. If during my first trip to the grocery store a handful of women look my way, I know the country will treat me well.

My eye contest test isn’t on just attractive women but all women, even grandmas. I want to see if there is a culture of evaluating foreign-looking men for their value, an important first step in any seduction. I want women to simply notice what is out there. A country’s eye contact habits is therefore more a sign of openness than raw attraction. It means women are in buying mode, ready to be approached by a man who wants to sell his goods. It doesn’t mean she will be easily sold, but the opportunity is there.

Here are the five countries where I got the most amount of eye contact within my first couple of days:
◾Poland
◾Croatia
◾Estonia
◾Lithuania
◾Brazil

And here is a list of countries that I one day would return to:
◾Poland
◾Croatia
◾Estonia
◾Lithuania
◾Brazil (more so to see how it’s being destroyed by feminism)

It’s in these countries where I know that if I put in an honest day of approach work, I will eventually be rewarded. They are harder than places like Argentina and Latvia where I got little eye contact and my results were random and inconsistent, even with dedicated effort.

The catch is that not all women from the top five countries consider me their type. For example, Brazilian girls like men that are just about the opposite of my appearance, but I still had some of the best women of my life while I was there. The fact that Brazilian women are open, which I can tell with their eye contact, means that approaches can successfully be used to get laid, even if I’m not their ideal.

The implication of this is simple: if you’re in the United States right now, and you go to a country where you get less eye contact within the first 24 hours, it will probably mean you have to work harder. If you get more eye contact, you’ll have to work less. You can read all day about which type of guy does well in which country and which race is desired by the local women, but all you need is a trip to a crowded supermarket on your first day to predict how things will go. No other analysis is required."

I can say from my own experience that this is true. For example, in the UK women generally give no eye contact whatsoever and it is without question of the hardest places to game women.

Has anybody else on here managed to confirm the correlation that Roosh identifies between the willingness of women to give eye contact on the street and their ease of gaming women in that country? I've heard that Poland passes this test with flying colours, but what about the other countries in central Europe: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, et.c.?

In which countries have you had the least eye contact from the local women and in which the most? Has this been a reliable indicator of ease of gaming in that country?

I've never actually read that article, thanks for noting it and expanding my knowledge. Strange how Latvia doesn't follow suit with the other two baltic countries. I met two different Latvians one night out a few weeks back and noticed a stark difference between the one who lives in Latvia and the one who lives in the UK. Native was much more feminine. She was also a higher class girl too. Oddly spoke better English than the UK one who'd apparently lived here for 10 years. Number closed the native and she put in the international dial code instead of the normal way (+371 instead of 02xxxxxxxxx) so I knew she was open to text game.

Anyway this test is going to have different results for different guys.

Could you provide a whole list of countries you had visited whilst doing this?

I never read this article before, and it seems to make a lot of sense.

In the US, I get eye contact from perhaps 3 or 4 women per week. A trip to the grocery store, even when there's a lot of women, I may get eye contact from one, if I'm lucky. Either it's not a good country for me to game in, or I'm just really oblivious.

My trip to the Philippines is coming up next week, so I should be able to confirm this article if true.

You don't get eye contact in the Philippines, you get eye raped! Maybe not so much in Manila but even in Cebu, which is a decent size city with quite a few foreigners, girls at Ayala will stare at you right in the eyes and not break contact, its takes getting used to.

Thanks for the reply and good luck with that Latvian girl you've met.

When you spoke about the contrast between sweet and feminine native Latvian girl and the one that had lived in the UK for 10 years, you put your finger on a phenomenon that I've noticed with other foreign-born women in the UK who've lived here for longer than a couple of years, namely that they often behave in a much more obnoxious, i.e. Western, manner than when they first arrived. This is understandable, I suppose, given that Western culture is akin to a virus that will corrupt any woman who has lived here for any length of time - often infecting her much more quickly than one might have imagined possible.

As for the Eye Contact Test yielding a different result for different men, yes, I can understand why you think this, since every guy is going to be starting out from a different baseline of attractiveness to women, as it were, prior to moving to a different foreign female market. But the point is that the test is still very objective and informative in spite of that, because it is the perceived change in women's attentiveness when a guy changes location that matters and that allows important conclusions to be drawn as a result. I do feel it does provide such a goldmine of information about how easily one is going to find gaming women in that environment, since I've experienced how the Polish and other nationalities I've met in the UK and Germany sometimes gave me much more eye contact, including a wry smile when they caught me making sustained eye-contact, that the difference with UK women was like night and day, in addition to the way they would ask me questions and show an interest - all in contrast to the utter solipsistic indifference British women display when I speak with them for the first time. I can only imagine with envy how different it must be for a guy when gaming on the ground in Poland. To be honest, though, I'm more interested in visiting and living in Slovakia for some time, so would appreciate comments on how much eye contact girls from Czech Republic/Slovakia give when out on the streets there, if anybody reading this would like to throw in their two pennies worth, I'd be happy to read about that.

The countries that I've lived in include Norway, where I found women really didn't give much eye-contact on the street, as well as Germany until 2013, where I found I would receive a little bit here and there, more so in summer than during the winter months, but generally would be ignored. Generally-speaking, though, many German men complain about women being very aloof in public and German women certainly do seem to conform to the standard behaviour in the Anglosphere of making sure not to make eye contact with men. Other than that I've visited the Netherlands, Belgium and France on and off and found the women there, although not particularly open or friendly, nonetheless to be at least happy to acknowledge the presence of men in their surroundings.

I'm currently resident in the UK again and find it is the most extreme case of all of passive-aggressive avoidant behaviour towards men. Women where I live in the north east of England walk around with permascowl countenance and immediately avert their gaze as soon as I even accidentally glance in their direction, often twisting up their face as they do so into a frown or grimace. Suffice it to say that I find gaming women here to be pretty much futile, although I do still run day game approaches on the very few female unicorns who look more cute and approachable. If nothing else, the UK functions as a bootcamp to hone one's gaming skills and to rid oneself of any approach anxiety, since if you can put up with being blown off by entitled and stuck up UK women, it can only get better when travelling to countries such as Poland.

How about yourself? Have you visited all three of the Baltic states? Which countries have you visited and are able to give an opinion on, may I ask?

Thanks! She had lived in the UK in the past. From what I could work out she did a few years of school then college then went back to Latvia for university and stayed there due to employment. Out of all the Baltic nations Lithuania has always ranked top from everyone that I've heard mention it. Followed by Estonia with Latvia ranking dead last. Which your list agrees with also.

In my adult life I have only been abroad twice. Both times to Ireland. Once int October 2014 (childhood friends 21st) and second in Feb/Mar 2015. I did notice that I got tons of looks from both men and woman walking up Grafton street, Dublin. I think a lot of that came down to my style compared with everyone else. I looked like I had money. I'd say roughly 25% of the people I walked passed looked at me as I walked passed. Head turning as I go by and 95% of those people had an extremely puzzled look on their face.

The most positive looks I got had been stood outside Cork train station waiting for a taxi. Several 7-8s blonds ran passed me saying "Hi" before disappearing inside the station. I think that had more to do with the fact I was wearing a suit on a Saturday than me, it certainly helped a lot.

Anyway I have Germany planned for later this year & one more trip to Ireland(same friend mentioned earlier's daughter is due to be christened). So Ireland again in July and Oktoberfest with a few friends in September.

As for solo trips, they are going to have to wait until 2016. I'll definitely spend a week in continental Europe. However I am not sure where just yet. Poland seems to be the main destination in my mind but I will use these forums to really make my decision. I am considering Vegas too but I'm not sure on the suitability of a solo trip there.

Fortunately a friend of mine works for a largish hotel company here in the UK and can quite frequently get discounts to hotels around the country of upto 50% depending on availability. I may find a few weekends around the country on the cards for this year too.

All the best on your travels.

Roosh's Eye Contact Test applied to different countries

In my experience, eye contact is a complex indicator.

Women in New York are not shy about eye fucking you on the street or at the bars. In LA however, it's rare as rocking horse shit.

Moscow girls rarely make eye contact on the street. But once you open your mouth and approach, and they are some of the most receptive in the world.

I also find a lot of it is dependent on state of mind. If I haven't been with a woman in a while, or if I'm in a new city, I get hungry eyes. Women respond to a hungry man.

Haha I'm not sure if I'm ready to go from virtually zero eye contact in the US to getting eye raped every 5 minutes, it seems like a little bit of a jump.

I won't be going to Cebu this time though, only in Manila and Boracay for this one trip. I'm already wanting to go on a second trip later this year, and I'll be sure to visit Cebu.

Never saw that article either, but can say it's more or less a good general indicator. For me the UK was horrible, the Netherlands was a bit better but still not nearly as good as Estonia - even as a white guy walking down the street I noticed tons of eye contact; ditto for Prague. Korea was accurate - if they met eyes with you there was a better than average chance of sending it in.

I would even go so far as to apply it to cities in the US. DC sucks of course; San Fran is an unexpected surprise so far.

I find the UK very inconsistent. Some days I might make eye contact with like 15 girls, others 5 or 6. Maybe it's related to my inner game, some days I feel like "yeah lets have at this shit" and others "I can't be fucking arsed". Maybe women are hard tuned to pick up on that?

I think I can understand what you're saying there, Wonder. My experience is as follows: If I'm feeling cocky and put out a bad-boy vibe, intentionally or otherwise, I've had a whole string of good-looking women check me out and hold eye contact on the street, sometimes even followed by a smile in my direction. But the rest of the time, which for me is 99% these days, I'm absolutely invisible and even seem to repel women's gaze when I look at them. It's all or nothing in Britain - a case of winner takes all.

The conclusion I've drawn is that we're witnessing the results of a dramatic rise in hypergamy in the UK, in which only the meanest and bad-ass guys get the gina tingling. I've witnessed this phenomenon too many times over the last 6 months to be in any doubt.

The result of such developments is surely going to be many more betas being forced into inceldom and having nothing but the company of their right hand for relief. Expect more Elliott Rodgers and George Sodinis at a shopping mall near you checking out with all guns blazing.

Here in Australia, I get virtually no eye contact in Melbourne and Sydney, and have to work really hard to get anything. I put it down to Western Millennial girls being socially retarded. Even on many first insta/coffee dates, I get bugger all eye contact which makes it hard to read whether to follow up. They can't seem to focus on anything - the other person's eyes included - for more than a few seconds. This can be partially blamed on them gluing their faces to smart phones most of the day.

It's a tiny bit better in smaller towns and cities.

99/100 times, if I get eye contact from a girl I haven't talked to yet here, I can guarantee that it's a recently arrived foreign girl (European or Latin American). FOB Asians are a whole other kettle of socially retarded fish...

By contrast, I got lots of eye contacts while I was travelling in the States, especially in NYC and NOLA. I even got approached quite a few times. It was very surprising as I always assumed that American girls were worse than Aussie girls.

I get eye-raped in SEA (Vietnam and Phillipines). It felt rather overwhelming at times.

I want to hit EE and South America to see what it's like!

I'm native to England, you're spot on with your points. The hit and miss thing is really apparent in Summer unless you are balling in well-to-do places. But those places are infested with gold diggers.

I have noticed that although the UK is easy to get laid in, it has become difficult due to a number of factors.

- Majority are insular social media addicts and have an over reliance on alcohol

I hate to say it but the majority of my lays last year were from Tinder. I would have never met those women outside on the town or sober.

A good number of guys are on all social media and dating platforms throwing out their worth and making women harder to get on with. When a legion of men send dick pics or body pictures showing abs it dilutes your own value.

The two times I got seriously eye fucked were by two foreign girls. A Colombian and Lithuanian. It was like a breath of fresh air, an exposure to something new and I really liked it.

Meanwhile girls 2 points lower than these two didn't even look my way. [Image: lol.gif] Its quite a revelation.

Yes, British women are very insular not to mention paranoid towards men they don't know and unless you already belong to their social clique, it's going to be almost impossible to get to know them, since they don't have a very broad range of interests, least of all intellectual and seem to deliberately cut themselves off from most guys and rely exclusively on social media to "communicate" with the rest of humanity these days. It's a negative feedback loop, I believe, in that the more their iPhones get blown up with thirsty orbiters, the more self-important they feel themselves to be and the more they will cut themselves off further from the unwashed hordes of thirsty guys desperate for a piece of action.

The thirst in Britain is something to be behold and it's getting worse by the day: It's no longer an unusual sight to see tall, young, good-looking and well-dressed athletic guys coupled up with a hambeast of a woman. Truly shocking.

In Arab countries, I get lots of eye contact, but social mores make it hard to follow up.

I make it a point to look into the eyes of younger women wearing niqabs (face veils) and smile. You often get direct gaze back. If I'm not hanging around, sometimes I'll wink. It's a small amusement.

It's mostly impossible to follow up, though; even if you approach an unveiled woman without a hijab, any guys in the area will alert on the both of you and she will get extremely nervous and bail out quickly.

Czech Republic and Slovakia is generally better than Poland, but depends a bit on region and what type you are.

Probably the worst country in Europe is Switzerland - has gotten much worse in recent years.

Thanks for that input, Zelcorpion. I'm genuinely scratching my head over your opinion that you get more eye contact in Czech Republic and Slovakia than in Poland, since I've put up a Badoo account in Bratislava and in Poznan and have received significantly more returned "likes" and unsolicited ones than in Bratislava. I would have thought that Poland, having a surplus of women of marriageable age in most cities, would be a better hunting ground than either CR or Slovakia. Did you find the women in Slovakia also to be more receptive to game than those in Poland?

Why did you mention Switzerland - are you based there currently or is that where you're from originally? Worst country in Western Europe for women?! OK, I've never heard anybody assert that Switzerland is the place to go for pussy, but have you ever tried gaming women in the UK or Republic of Ireland? It's like the European equivalent of North America.

But as for getting less eye contact in Switzerland over the last few years, I'm sure you're right and can say that I've also observed this in the UK and quite markedly so over the last 5 years or so, coincident with the development of the Smartphone and the attention-whoring platform this has offered women. As for women avoiding eye-contact in the UK, it's so extreme that all but the most butt-ugly girls will go to absurd and sometimes comical measures to avoid making eye-contact with a guy these days. This phenomenon reflects accurately, in my view, the deterioration in the dating market for men over the course of the last few years, thus providing me a solid ground for thinking that Roosh's eye-contact metric is a valuable tool in any international gamer's arsenal.

Roosh's Eye Contact Test applied to different countries

I'll only do places I spent more than a few weeks in.

Got the most eye contact of any country I've been to in Singapore, including one girl that asked if I'd be interested in being a model (banged), and I wouldn't say I'm good looking. Had a field day there.

Thailand I didn't get that much eye contact walking around, but then my eyes are always fixed on some pair of legs in the distance. Lots of compliments out of the blue when going about my business though. I do well there anyway, and don't bother looking for eye contact.

Japan and South Korea - very infrequent eye contact. My bangs in Japan came through social circle, and in Korea I was living with a girl so didn't bang anything else. I got the impression it wouldn't have been that easy though.

Spain - Lots of eye contact and approach invitations, banged one of the best looking girls I've ever got there, and she said I was exotic lol.

France - I struggled, occasional eye-contact.

UK - Almost never get eye-contact from girls on their own, but often get it from girls when they are part of a group. Not sure why that is. I also usually get decent eye contact from at least one girl when walking into a pub / bar. Also often have lingering eye contact with staff in shops, I don't follow up on it though. Usually get at least one strong bit of eye contact on a night out which is helpful.

I will say this though - I often tell friends that girls are looking and they don't see it, and they often tell me girls are looking and I don't see it.

You don't get eye contact in the Philippines, you get eye raped! Maybe not so much in Manila but even in Cebu, which is a decent size city with quite a few foreigners, girls at Ayala will stare at you right in the eyes and not break contact, its takes getting used to.

I found this pic of Scotian when he was in the Philippines...

She needs to understand that my body (including my eyes) is my business. It's amazing how insecure and absurd people have become. They even confuse public and private nowadays. They want if a butt naked woman carrying a large wad of cash walking at 3 am in a seedy area of the town, not just she stays unharmed but doesn't even attract unwanted attention.

We need feminism to destroy civilization.

A better question to ask is "What EXACTLY do I want out of life and what EXACTLY am I doing to get EXACTLY that? If you can answer that question truthfully you will be the most Alpha motherfucker you will ever need to be. (PapayaTapper)

Czech Republic and Slovakia is generally better than Poland, but depends a bit on region and what type you are.

Probably the worst country in Europe is Switzerland - has gotten much worse in recent years.

Uk is worse, nearly as bad attitude as switzerland with girls being generally 2-3 points below in the scale of attractiveness..
