Dr. Dre Apologizes To All The Women He's Hurt

It doesn't pay to be a bitch.

When I saw this thread title I immediately thought of Dee Barnes, the chick that Dre beat down way back in the 90s. He got sued for it, settled, and moved on. Whatever.

But this is the thing, see.

While Dre is apologizing to them, they're not reciprocating. Women never forget, and never really forgive.

I googled Dee Barnes name, and guess what I found out? She's still mouthing off. She doesn't like Dre's movie, blah, blah, blah.

Here's the Gawker interview she gave:

http://gawker.com/heres-whats-missing-fr...1724735910

So my point is this: apologizing doesn't do any good. You may take the high road, but they never do.

If you decide to apologize, do it without any expectation of anything in return from women. Because you won't get any reciprocal sentiment.

It's just not in their nature. They hold grudges. They stew about stuff. For years.

And just look at Dee Barnes. Even after all these years, she still can't let it go. She still has to get her digs in.

It just doesn't pay to be a bitch.

Ruse, my ass.

The personality he projects in his music is the ruse (or at least became one after he'd moved on with his life). I realized he'd changed when I found out that he had to ask his wife for permission when he decided to start producing gangster rap again. Don't remember if it was a documentary or an article, but either way, it definitely changed my perception of the guy, and this apology is zero surprise.

I actually think the message gangster rap sends to young men is pretty dysfunctional and can even be dangerous. Even us white kids where I come from grew up on Snoop and Dre - I think Doggystyle was the first cd I ever spent my own money on - but these weren't and still aren't the best role models.

But it's almost worse to be doing it just for the money when it's not really the life you live or believe in.

Dre is trying to take his billion and chill.

After what has happened to brothers like Cosby, Brother with money and influence realize that they don't control their money.
Dre can either go broke.. or say sorry and try to let it fade away for some time again.

He isn't going to go broke for not saying sorry, he is a billionaire.

Hmm. You guys got me thinking: Dre has displayed feminine ways for some time. For example, I remembered hearing the song The Watcher on Chronic 2001 and raising my eyebrow at a few of the lyrics. At the time, I took it at face value: he's a grown man who's done with the thug life he projected for 15 years (at the time):

Quote:Quote:

I moved out of the hood for good, you blame me?
Niggas aim mainly at niggas they can't be
But niggas can't hit niggas they can't see
I'm out of sight, now I'm out of they dang reach
How would you feel if niggas wanted you killed?
You'd probably move to a new house on a new hill
And choose a new spot, if niggas wanted you shot
I ain't a thug, how much 2Pac in you you got?
I ain't no bitch, neither
It's either my life or your life
And I ain't leaving, I like breathing
Nigga, we can go round for round
Clip for clip
, shit, fo'-pound for pound
Nigga, if you really want to take it there, we can
Just remember that you fucking with a family man

I got a lot more to lose than you, remember that
When you wanna come and fill these shoes

For a while, Dre wore the role of a "hard" dude who had moved into veteran status comfortably. But this new declaration has reminded me a few suspicious things scattered over the last many years. He might not just be "soft" or a phony.

In retrospect, my first impression of Dre when I heard him and saw him speak (versus rap) was that he displayed some gay voice and gestures in speaking. I also thought some of the gay references in the original Chronic album were a little too detailed and graphic (e.g., "Gap teeth in your mouth so my dick's gots to fit" or the "fuck me in the ass" impression of Tim Dog in $20 Sack Pyramid). I also always thought 2Pac's cryptic remark at the end of To Live and Die in L.A. was a little odd (at 4:04):

Quote:Quote:

L.A., California Love part motherfucking two
Without gay ass Dre

At the time, I thought it was just Pac being Pac, but as I think about it, I know 2Pac's catalog pretty well. I don't remember him calling anyone else "gay." Ever. Maybe I'm wrong, but it isn't a common choice of words in his catalog.

The late-great Easy-E called it out back in the day. Pay special attention at 1:05 and especially 2:40:

It was only later that I heard of the rumors. Very troublesome word choice in an early Dre verse:

Quote:Quote:

I'm Dr. Dre gorgeous hunk of a man
Doing tricks on the mix like no others can
The nurses say I'm cute, they say I'm fine
But you betta beware cuz' i'll blow your mind

And now this new thing. I have no choice but to come up with this verdict: when Dre was dissing hoes, he meant it like Gangstalicious meant it:

If you're not familiar with the show, this is how that story ends [SPOILER ALERT]:

Yeah she's mouthing off about not being in the movie. I doubt she realizes that while his kicking her ass was the biggest thing that will ever happen to her, he probably barely even remembers who she is.

She wasn't in the movie because she didn't matter any more to the story than say... the dump Dr Dre took on Nov 18, 1993

I don't fault Dre. He is talented and made a billion with his gangster character and selling out with his overpriced, mediocre headphones. I would have done the same for a far less $$ [Image: smile.gif]

It is amazing the difference a few years can make. Now I know where Samwell learned how to drop mad beats.

Dre is a musician and producer he followed trends like every other musician. Onyx used to have blue hair and was a dance group before they were gangster, Ice Cube went through a islamic phase, KRS One was gangster before he became conscious, Tupac was a backup dancer for Digital Underground before he came out gangster. Dre is not gay (and for the record Eazy E died of AIDS) he is just a musician and a family man.

I dont know about him being feminine, selling out, getting soft etc as much as it is growing up. You cant gang bang forever I mean in all reality the "active" gang members thats really out there living that life is the young boys teenagers... Most people I know slowed that shit down in their 20's at least thats how it is in Chicago, you always have your hold outs (you know that 30 year old dude still on the block) but for the most part in their twenties they really tend to slow the fuck down. Too many bodies too many people getting too much time and reality begins to set in.

Right. Things change, you change. As you get older and mature your interests change. In my late teens and early 20's, I'd feel sick if I missed out on going out to some club on a weekend - those city lights called my name...every weekend. Now, you wouldn't find me dead in a club. I prefer a chilled relaxing atmosphere, every once in a while I'll get out there and cut a rug, but not in a club atmosphere.

You get over things: "burnt out". Happens to everyone.

Either way, MCA (B-Boys) did this 2 decades ago in Sure Shot. Dre's a bit late for jumping on the bandwagon all of a sudden. And at least we don't have the duplicity of someone like Kanye's who raps all thug and gangster like he's the biggest pimp but then wifes up the biggest whore in America, Kim Kardashian - a woman mind direclty responsible for Bruce Jenner becoming transgender, lamar odom becoming a crack addict and all other sorts of crimes against humanity.

What Kanye have you been listening to?

I don't have a problem with his apologizing. Of course what he did was wrong.

What really bothers me is that according to our feminized media, hitting a woman is akin to being a child molester or murderer.

Around the same time, in the early 90s, Dr Dre pled guilty to to battery of a police officer, and involved in a brawl in New Orleans. Does he have to beg for forgiveness for that as well?

So I don't have a problem with his apology, but that should be the end of it.

Dude changed his ways...gangbangers cant bang for ever.
Once you get Dre money.. but know it be taken away money... I'm sure priorities change.

To defend him, seems a bit hypocritical.
We don't advocate beating women on this forum.
Dre didn't just push a chick around.
He actually was out there stomping hoes out.
Yea, it made him a lot of money at the time...but that doesn't mean he should still be doing it in his 50's

I agree with you. It's not just Dee Barnes, he's beaten up quite a few. His ex-girlfriend was one if I remember correctly. Not pushing around, but punching etc.

We don't advocate that on the forum at all, and on the odd occasion where people have, it's usually called out - it gives our opponents legitimate ammo to throw at us. Especially at the moment when more people than ever are reading the forum.

This is the statements they used to give to the press..

Quote:Quote:

After her 1990 interview with Ice Cube in which the rapper discusses his leaving N.W.A. at the height of their feud, the group, feeling they had been negatively portrayed, sought retaliation. On January 27, 1991 Dr. Dre encountered Barnes at a record release party in Hollywood. According to Rolling Stone reporter Alan Light:

He picked her up by her hair and "began slamming her head and the right side of her body repeatedly against a brick wall near the stairway" as his bodyguard held off the crowd with a gun. After Dre tried to throw her down the stairs and failed, he began kicking her in the ribs and hands. She escaped and ran into the women’s rest room. Dre followed her and "grabbed her from behind by the hair again and proceeded to punch her in the back of the head."

Quote:Quote:

N.W.A.’s MC Ren later said "bitch deserved it". and Eazy-E echoed with "yeah, bitch had it coming". As Dr. Dre explained the incident: "People talk all this shit, but you know, somebody fuck with me, I’m gonna fuck with them. I just did it, you know. Ain’t nothing you can do now by talking about it. Besides, it ain’t no big thing—I just threw her through a door."

Dre has been insanely wealthy and in mogul status for a long time now. All these guys all sound like this after getting a good taste of the royal life.

The irony is Dre is technically more white and Jewish than Jerry Heller at this point.
