loosewin,
Yea crowds in general seemed down this weekend. You'd think it would be the opposite considering it's a holiday weekend, but apparently not. I went to Crescendo on Saturday (one of the most popular places right now) and it was pretty weak compared to how it normally is.
I didn't see any stand-out tourists at Hunt Club. I have been to Hangge Uppe a few times, and I'm not a fan. It's what I like to refer to as the "sloppy flip-flop crowd". Just a bunch of way-too-drunk people dressed like shit and stepping all over each other, puking here and there, etc. It's pretty bad. Lots of older women from the suburbs there too, and typically not the hot kind. It's got the reputation of being a late-night pick-up joint, but personally I'd rather go home alone than deal with that crowd. Having said that, I think you should check it out once just to see for yourself...and see if you agree with me. You never know, you might be able to snag a cutie. Just be sure to get some food in her stomach at Five Faces so she doesn't puke on you in the cab.
It's funny - I've never really been into black girls either. But lately I've gotten so discouraged with the local Latina situation that I've started to dig light-skinned black girls big time. There are some gorgeous ones around. You have to work through the same ghetto filter, but there are a lot of black girls in this city so I think the numbers are in my favor. I'm white by the way.
Anyway, PM me sometime and we can talk more venue strategy.

Also, any of you Chicago guys have good intel on solid Lincoln Park spots these days? I haven't partied up there for years, but lately I've been feeling like blowing a hot little DePaul chick's back out.

This is becoming a good thread even for local guys. How about we make a list of good spots to hit up during the week? We know that you can pretty much go anywhere on the weekend but what about Sunday-Thursday?
I'll start by doing some recon. I'm going to check out the Hangge Uppe tonight and let you guys know how it is on a Tuesday night.

Nice idea. I don't make it out much during the week but I'd like to at least one night. There are probably some good options here in River North that I'm sleeping on.

What kind of girls does the Tin Lizzie get? I live right by there so maybe this is worth checking out even thou I usually don't like these small hood bars..

Hah, The Apartment was one of my old stomping grounds. Might check it out again one of these days just for old times' sake.

Yeah McGee's is a good spot. But I wonder how about the traffic at all these LP spots. I would think they are not as great since DePaul is in summer session.

best time to hit McGee's would be Thursday-Sunday while school is in session. The fall should be really easy since there a ton of underclassmen trying to get into places like that with fake id's and such.

I was going to wait to visit a few more spot's to give a break down. But I haven't made it to the Hangge Uppe because things just keep coming up. Planning on going tonight to check it out. Let's see how this place is on a good night. I have been to:
1) Detention on Division: This place is in a great spot right there on Division but for some reason its not as popular. The music is loud (plus or minus based on your preference) but it just doesn't seem to pop. With so many better options in that area just avoid.
2) Citizen--On Erie and Lasalle. Right across what was the old Rhino (this place was awesome and I had the hook up before it closed!!). Anyways, I initially thought this place was more upscale because I've been here before for professional purposes. But this place is not bad. It's laid back but more upscale than say your typical Wrigley spot. You'll find more than one girl wearing a dress. I also hear this is a good spot to come to Lunch or for an after-work drink spot. Of course this place also pops on the weekends. I will come back here because my other friend said he had a great time here. Also, it turns out I have the hook up here. My buddy is the general manager here. PM me if you want details but you shouldn't need it unless you come here on the weekend and there is a line.

I've been to both places several times. I agree that Detention has a ton of potential, if only they could fill the place up. Citizen is a little small for my liking, but has a good rooftop scene after work.
The old Rino spot is now Board Room. Been open maybe a month. I've yet to check it out, but based on their website it seems to have a heavy emphasis on bottle service.
Have you ever been to V-Live on Friday nights? The place is huge and packed wall-to-wall with Latinas.

Marky Mark, love the new book. Still reading it.
Are you coming to Chicago for business or pleasure? Do you want a chill place or something up beat? Also depends if you want to meet college girls or young professional type of a woman that can hold a conversation. If you are just here on Wednesday and Thursday you need to be selective because spots are hit or miss during the week. Although, Thursday is a good night and you'll have a lot more options of where to go. Here is what has been traditionally good spots on those days in my opinion:
Bull and Bear ( way more of a bar than club. You'll get professional/classy woman coming here). If you're going to be rolling in river north (see my first post) than this is worth a stop by. Chill place where you can diffidently talk.
Cresendo: This is a club and should be good on on Wed an Thur. You shouldn't have trouble getting in here. The crowds come in around midnight.
Enclave: This club has always been great in the summer and during the week. Also worth it to check. All the above mention are in the same area so you can realistically hit all these spots in one night.
Bars: I'm still doing recon to see what is good during the week. But Some of the above mentioned places are all good bets. Wrigleyville--any bar during a game. Also hot tip, a bar named Houndstooth is good on all Thursdays nights. It's country music night and the girls get wild up in here. You don't have to love country music to enjoy this place on a Thursday. Diffidently worth a check out if you're going to be on the north side on a Thursday. It get's loud and packed so this is not a spot to discuss existential philosophy.

Review on the Hunt Club.
I had to give this place another shot (Saturday) just because I wasn't ready to give up or feel going here once was enough. I came here around say 2 am and the place was somewhat filled. Not packed by any means (no line). I thought if I stayed longer the Hunt would get traffic as other bars were closing around the 2 am mark. I was hoping the traffic from Proof (which seems hot every day I've been in the area) would come over and bring this place alive after 2 am. This never happened.
Pro: It's open late. There might not be a lot of people but you may be able to catch some girls that party super late.
Cons: Not that much talent here to go after. Traffic seems low to me compared to what others have told me about this place.
misc observation: Well, I finally was able to see the stereotype this area is known for. I did see two trashy girls from out of town that were making out/talking to pretty much any dude that came by. This included some old dudes that bought these girls drinks and started grabbing their asses. kind of funny to see. Also, some funny as shit on the dance floor with a few people getting stupid up in here.
I'm pretty much set on the idea that with few exceptions; every venue in Chicago starts to die in a big way after 2 am. The Hunt club closes at 5am on Saturday ( I stayed till 4am) and the dance floor was completely empty at 3:30 so I don't think I'm off on this point. I've been to a lot of other places where this is the same case.
Yeah, there are some venues where it's 3 am but for all intensive purposes I think we should think of 2 am some target. You better have a girl by this time or start going super aggressive and see if you can get a 30 min pull.
To bring this review back to the Hunt Club. I don't think I'll come back here. I just do not think it's worth paying 5-10 bucks in cover to come to a spot with the above mention negatives. If I'm in the area and am not ready to call it a night than I may come again. But till then there are too many other places I want to check out.
Review of the Hangge-uppe to follow. I have some things to say about this place but I might wait to go again during the week for better intel.
Le me know what you guys think.

I got a few question for the Chi-town playas.
1. If you only had 1 weekend to game in Chicago (2 nights first time there), what places would you absolutely hit (day & night venues) that yield best probability for ONS?
2. Which would you skip?
3. Where would you set-up your fuckpad for optimal logistics?
4. Is renting a car an absolute must-have?

Howdy MiXX, I will put in my 2 cents and let the Windy city residents do the rest.......
# 1. If you have one weekend only
Day Game on Michigan Ave on Magnificent Mile, If time permits Millenium Park, American Art Museum, Navy Pier etc.....
# 3. Pad Absoultely has to be Downtown close to Michigan Ave, I was able to get a four star using your recommendation for $ 106 (Thanks to you), usually 4 stars in down town can go upto 300-400 depending what's going on on the weekend. Millenium park can work also....
#4. Don't rent a car downtown hotels charge $40-50 for overnight parking, Taxi's are everywhere and you will spend less........
I am sure you will have a blast in Chi-town..........
