Where To Get High-Quality Tapered Clothing?

Just as many of you here, lifting has given me very "top-heavy" physique. I cannot wear regular dress shirts/ hoodies without looking like a sack of potatoes.

For the past two years, I've been mostly sticking with Under Armour/Gym Shark and the similar sort of athletic-branded clothing for the tapered cut.

Sort of something like this:

Wearing clothing with athletic branding gets me some eyefucks/compliments, but also gives off the "gymrat" vibe. Secondly, I don't like being a walking billboard.

The biggest problem is that these clothes tend to be a low-quality 50% cotton and 50% polyester blend, which is reasonable for a $30/shirt. Washing/Drying them (even in delicate cycles) was cause pilling and overstretching the fibers, which ruins the clothing in under two months.

Where do you lifters/players find high-quality and tapered clothing? I mean anything: dress shirts, polos, henleys, t-shirts and hoodies? I do not have access to a reliable tailor in my area. Specific brand, patented cuts or websites would appreciated.

Thank you.

Charles Tyrwhitt is the best value for dress shirts at $30 a pop on sale. Sales are frequent. Anything better will cost at least $20 more. Go for the most tailored cuts.

Suit Supply offers great fitted suits.

I'd give Uniqlo a look for good fitted staples at a great price.

Personally, I'd avoid the stuff you posted for the reason you mentioned. When girls say they don't like guys with muscle, they really mean they don't like one dimensional meatheads (and even then they might be lying). You can avoid all that by dressing in stylish non-meathead clothing.

I agree with everything Basil wrote.

I will add that I have some thermals from Champion which I wear underneath my suit on nights out during the winter. Their quality is generally good. They also make the other sportswear you mentioned; the materials should be of the same quality.

If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.

T-shirts are generally OK for me, but dress shirts never fit right. It's like they're made for box-shaped men rather than guys with shoulders. So I just get tailored shirts. They look and feel way better. No tightness around the shoulders and no puffing-out around the waist. Well worth the money.

To add to Basil's comment.

CT is having their 30 dollar shirt sale right now on http://www.ctshirts.co.uk

Their shifts are on par to Brook Brother's and better than Banana Republics.

I've never tried Uniqlo before, but there is one in San Francisco. How are their v-necks in terms of material quality and cut? Since Uniqlo is Japanese, are their shirts more "Asian" cut?

For Charles Thyritt, their casual shirts look good . Does it make a difference if I order from their UK or US site? Do they modify their UK cuts to fit the more boxy American physique?

No, it's the same wares for CT.

If you're near a Uniqlo, just go in person. If you're not, order online. I don't have their v necks. Their cut is more fitted but not Asian.

Muji is another great option, although less color and variety than Uniqlo, but great quality staples.

I buy what ever I like and then get it tailored.
