I was going to buy a three story house there for 40k about 6 months ago but the guy sold it. I talked to a contractor/architect and he told me for 7k he would install a hot tub and bust out the wall in the house and make it like a 12ft by 12ft stained glass window of a nude latina. That would of have been amazing. I still wish I would of jumped on that but I didn't have the Spanish ability to hire multiple people to test out the electricity and plumbing and go over tax information. . In one year, I should be fluent enough to get it all done and then I can move to Cali.

Big air-bnb opportunity there LINUX. Turn it into some pimp pad, charge $+150/night for the developed world people and roll in the cash. You'll get a variety of types going in. From business team retreats, families, bachelor parties and so on. Use it as your space when you go yourself.

I would check if your condo HOA will murder you for having partying tourists coming in first although. Maybe a city house would be better for that for less BS. Or maybe in Colombia they are not NIMBY assholes like that.

I need some travel advice

Just returned from three weeks of fun in the Philippines. It was my first international poosy vacation. Had a really good time and I'm looking forward to my next adventure. I'm in my early 40s but look 35. Good looking with decent style. Only do online and day game. Was thinking about visiting Columbia. Do you guys think it's a good place for someone like me?

Yeah, I hate apartments but it's less likely to get broken into than a house, specially with a door man and security.I definitely will ask about whether or not I can do monthly or nightly rentals. I wont get this apartment though. I need a one bedroom, two bedroom at the most. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms is too much.

Ideally I would buy a house with one large room at the bottom and a loft. Put my bed upstairs and have a fire-pole going down to the bottom floor, right beside a big ass hot tub. I've wanted a firepole since I was a little kid and there is nothing better than getting straight out of bed and going downstairs and getting right into the hot tub naked while a maid brings you your morning coffee and bowl of fruit.

Then I can take my morning walk on the bridge toward el centro, buy my 10 cent cup of tinto, stare at a few asses and ask them to join me later for some dancing.

They kicker is having a big enough air conditioner in Cali to cool my house, in order to get into the hot tub and not have a stroke. I need to think about this some more.

As a guy who recently moved into a place too big for him, it can be pretty nice. Turn one room into a gym, another into an office / guest room or whatever else. It all depends on the cost ratio of everything. Although I could see you getting one of those 1500 sqft 1 bedroom bachelor pads. The 1 bedroom bachelor pads are a harder thing to sell & buy although. In the US at least, housing is bought and sold by families and old people.

As far as AC goes, I wouldn't worry about it too much in a house. That is a pretty solvable problem.

Come check it out and see if it works for you. It's much cheaper to fly to Colombia than to Asia. But I would not go to Colombia unless you had some people to hang with. I think that's what makes the difference. You have to come here to have fun and not for a pussy mission. And I sure as hell will never go back to Peru, so if you take route, send a postcard.

I have a girl and am just enjoying gym, reading and learning some new skills. The Spanish is getting better too and I can now make some basic sentences etc.

I will be pretty low key for the next few months but I love just having the nice daily routine and enjoying a relaxing life. Colombia is a lot of different things for different people and that's then best thing about it - whatever you want it's not too hard to find.

Scotian just said it. I'm using local connections through a girl I'm with.

If you are staying in the main areas and using AirBNB then you will be paying much more. I've noticed though that lots of them have 90% vacancy on the booking calanders. Try ask them to cut a deal.

I am not in that area and have only seen one other foreign guy since I landed. He had a fat girlfriend tatted up with pink hair. Me and my girl had a good laugh at their expense.

You could use Tinder and ask girls if they have a friend who rents. Me and Scotian did that and it worked out fine. Just get pics and pay by the week after you see the place.
