I've lived in Davao for over a year. I can sit here and break down your budget and point out every area that you were skimping and every way that you hindered both your lifestyle, time, and game just to save an extra couple bucks a day.

Your housing situation is the easiest thing. For $100 to $300 more per month, you could have been living in a high end condo rather than a dingy apartelle.

Girls would automatically be more willing to visit. You'd have a pool to invite girls to. You'd be able to come and go more discreetly, which many girls are very conscious of. You'd have a nicer TV, that you could use to stream movies through your laptop and watch with girls. You'd have a Western-style bathroom. You'd have a full kitchen. You wouldn't have roach or ant problems.

This is not a personal attack, it's simply a counterpoint from another young, pretty minimalistic guy. If that's how you want to live your life, more power to you.

That doesn't mean that you weren't living on a shoestring and could have had considerably higher quality of life, game opportunities, and personal fulfillment by spending $300 to $500 more a month.

I talked about EE because I like to talk about things I know personally. I've never been to LA or SEA so I didn't talk about that but I've been (and lived) in EE lots of times so I know how things are there.
1200$ (1000€) it's not enough to live a comfortable life in EE and you know why I'm saying that? because guess what....I actually lived there. Erasmus 2013. As I said the only places where you can live with that money are Ukraine and Moldavia and probably some others shitty cities off the beaten path (ie shitholes).
For the rest you need more money if you wanna live a decent life.

Guess what - I live in EE for years now - moved here 4 years ago. Erasmus students are not a good example of the costs necessary. Average decent wage in EE is roughly 800$. 1200$ lets you buy even property - this is long-term lifestyle. If you want to have dinner every day at a restaurant, then yes it will not be enough. But on that note, 4000$ in most Western cities won't cut it, because you will spend 3000$ on restaurants alone.

So decent is a matter of the beholder.

Milan and NYC or even LA are not cities which display the fatocalypse happening in the USA, UK and most of Western Europe. Italy is generally much better - young girls are much slimmer - Austria and Germany is not so good though and Denmark - well, times have been much better.

Fucking special low-tier Erasmus sluts is not a good sign of EE, because those are specific kind of 5s and 6s who deal with that.

My biggest expense was rent - I mostly had gf staying with me, so I rented bigger condos usually 2- bedroom - as I like to stay in nice places in best locations - that was already 35-40k per month.

Also I have to admit I partied a lot ( 4-5 times a week) and I am a heavy drinker. 2-3 bottles a night in different clubs, even shared with friends, a few shots and it was a 100 USD night-out- and we are not talking about hookers or cocaine.

Don't know exactly how the Pimp works as apparently it has a farang owner and the system might be slightly different to the other G-Clubs - however if you are not prepared to spent serious money ( >10k THB) it is no fun at all in those places.

Nevertheless as I said even 2-3k guarantees lots of fun in BKK.
