Looking for advice on best place for me to live in Eastern Europe

You sure ask a lot of questions for a guy who is knowledgeable in rental income, buying property abroad, living in Colombia, spent several months exploring cities in Europe, has been a forum member for nearly a year, and has contributed exactly zero value to the forum.

Other guys are nicer than I am I guess. I'd tell you to piss off.

I'm not sure nicer is the right word...but maybe other guys are less of a prick?

The op self-admittedly has limited experience in EE, a region that intrigues a significant percentage of the forum. Doubtless, a lot of guys would relocate there given the opportunity.

And therefore, the questions in this thread and the answers pertaining to them, are of great interest to many of us.

Of all the shit threads that pop up on this forum, I can't think for the life of me why'd you castigate the OP for making this one.

Your ad-hominem attacks are largely irrelevant to the thread, essentially trolling.

But I guess you feel you can get away with it because you have an 82 next to your name...

Well other guys might be silent, but know we're all laughing at you.

One day, your illusions of keyboard jockey grandeur will be shattered and you'll join a long list of ex-RVF senior members.

Until then...ta-ta.

Yeah, I was being a bit more of a prick than necessary. That's true. The op didn't deserve it, though I do still stand by the spirit of my post that the op has a lot of knowledge he should share with the community as opposed to only asking for information and giving nothing in return. This community is built on sharing knowledge and he obviously has a lot he could share.

It's ok if everyone is laughing at me. I'm not the guy writing "ta-ta", so I still feel pretty good about myself.

Yeah, I've been twice. Dated a girl on and off for a couple years that lived in Odessa (now Kiev).. beautiful city, but I prefer Kiev. Actually, I am trying to figure out where in Ukraine has the highest concentration of blue eyed brunettes. I think I'm going to have to checkout Kharkov next.

Do you mind breaking down exactly why your prefer Kiev? Just more to do?

Many of the top lookers from all over end up in Kiev, not to mention I'm love with the city's nightlife. If you go to the more posh (expensive) venues, the talent you will find there is the best of all Ukraine.. (and then I would return to my hostel hehe)

Of course they're on the more expensive side of personal taste, but if you can handle it, you have a chance of tea-bagging one of the most beautiful girls in the world.

I spent a great deal of time at City Beach Club in the summer of 2014. My Vodka tonics were $10 a piece, however, the girls I met were amazing. As you can see in the photo below, I just took a pic from where I was chillin at the bar, and caught two of the many knockouts in one picture frame.

And after all of that, it's just safer than Odessa.

Thanks for the great idea! Safety is an important part of the equation. Here in Medellin I keep a real low profile. No watches, expensive cloths, I walk and take taxis and metro everywhere. I had a gun stuck to my head walking near my home in the nicest part of town and after that didnt want to show any money.

In Eastern Europe I plan on buying a nice sports car and showing some money. I figured I worked hard for it and want to enjoy a more luxurious lifestyle. From everything I have read about Kiev is nowhere near the level of danger in Medellin but still something to take into account when I consider a permanent home.

Thanks for the advice!

I guess I didnt really understand the value I could add. I would search the forums checking out info every once in awhile. Frankly I saw some divisive comments and didn't want to get into a online word battle with someone for not following the forum etiquette until I understood the flow of the forum.

I do have a lot of Knowledge on Medellin and Central and South America and have traveled extensively and would be happy to share more. As you can see once I popped my cherry with this thread I dabbled in other threads sharing what I know to some extent.

That being said I dont have a online presence besides facebook and casual internet use so first time being involved in a forum I prefer to step lightly.

Good luck to you RioNomad. No offense taken

I was being an asshole, so I do apologize for that.

It would be nice if you added some value when you can though because I think you have more to offer than you realize. I think a data sheet on buying property in Colombia would be really interesting to a lot of people here. I think forum member scotian plans to buy a condo there in the near future.

Yeah you see right there....I had no idea data sheets for buying property was par for the course for the forum. I would be happy to write about my experience buying my place here in Medellin

Bigger city, more women. I wouldn't say they are hotter, they can be more attractive because they dress fancier.

Though being used to Portuguese standards, I might just not be able to tell the difference. [Image: biggrin.gif]

Hey Billio this may be difficult for you to answer being your Portuguese but do you think Blond hair, blue eye guys would be at a disadvantage in Poland?

Everything that I am reading is the Southern European guys, Latinos and Black guys have a huge advantage there. I think good game can overcome any disadvantage however I like to put myself in good positions to start.

Definitely not a disadvantage. It's not an advantage but also not a bad thing. Anything darker (skin, eyes and hair) is a bonus.

Good game is all that you need. They are smart and they like to be treated like ladies.

I dated a Polish Girl who had lived in the Sates for 15 years. She was married for a few years with a guy from Bangladesh I believe. She said Polish Women love hairy, dark men. I asked her what she saw in me and she replied I was fun to hang around. I could live with that. Poland is on the list! Thanks Billio

Normally I would agree, and say Kiev or Odessa, but in todays current climate I would consider Varna (Bulgaria) to be in the running.

Some of the advantages of Varna over Ukraine:

Equally (or nearly as) attractive women.
Much lower prices for accomodation, food & drink.
About 6 hours to Bucharest
A country not in crisis.
English widely spoken by U/35's in Varna.
City by the seaside and a favourite destination for many eastern european visitors.

Have a look here at the quality of a daytime beach bar:

First time seeing Varna mentioned. I am checking it out now. Question, have you seen many surfers on the beach when you were there? Looks like they have some swells but mainly its good for kite surfing.

No - not seen many surfers in Varna, but saw a few about 7 miles up the coast.
This part of Bulgaria isnt at all a surfers paradise to be honest.
There is quite a lot of windsurfing though.

Yeah sounds like only swells when a storm comes in. How long were you staying in Varna for? Would you consider Varna a walkable city? Parks? Hows the food in Bulgaria?

I stayed in varna for 5 weeks last summer, but have been going for about 10 consecutive summers.
It really is a hidden gem, which has been very popular with the Bulgarians & other Eastern Europeans for many years, whilst the western europeans are instead encouraged to go to the more expensive & commercialised purpose-built resorts where the tour operators have their hotels. Hardly any Bulgarians live or go onholiday in those resorts. Only go there to work.

The Varna sea gardens (park) runs parallel with the sea for a few miles and has many amenities, is very nice and a pleasant walk.
The food is extremely cheap, (western or eastern), though I wouldn't say Bulgaria is well-known for its cuisine, and the service can be hit-and-miss.

The local population is more than 450,000 but this swells dramatically in the summer months as other Bulgarians, Poles, Russians, Ukranians etc. arrive to enjoy the seaside city. [Image: banana.gif]

Scrolling through the photos of the city now. It looks green, nice architecture, clean beaches and streets. Girls look cute, they are darker skin in the photos but then I see a few blondes. I herd bad reviews of Sofia on this forum so I hadnt been focusing on Bulgaria but this changes my mind.

Sounds like you did mostly club gaming? Did you meet an Girls day gaming or internet?

I did internet, and Ive got to say I am quite a few years older than most of you guys, so harder for me to do day gaming. [Image: confused.gif]

Yes, there are a mixture of dark-skinned and blonde girls.
A real cross-section.

Trust me, I have travelled extensively and not seen anywhere yet, with as many beautiful women, though admittedly fellow travellers who I have met in Varna, say Ukranian women might be the only place to beat it.[Image: heart.gif]

Actually, plenty of Ukranians tourists used to visit Varna and some have emigrated there, but I expect the recent troubles will result in a drop in both Ukranian & Russian tourists this year.

The Readers Digest did a survey of world-renowned journalists from around the globe, to ask them which city they felt had the most attractive women, and Varna came 5th....however all the other 9 cities are mostly capitals or well known famous cities (like NY).
I bet many of those journalists haven't even heard of Varna City, yet those that had visited, still pushed it up to finish in 5th place.

Wow thats an impressive placing on the list, especially of a city of only 450k. Im thinking Odessa, Varna in April will be the start of decent weather. Any suggestion what part of the city to stay. Did you rent an apartment or stay in a hotel the entire time?

What did you do most days you were in Varna? Are you a beach person? Dis you use public transportation staying there? what if any city that you have traveled can you compare it too?

I used to stay in a hotel, but recently I have been staying in a decent apartment very close to the beach & its amenities.
I would stay as near to slivinitsa as possible if I was you(slivinitsa is a pedestrian walkway to the beach).
That's where I stay anyhow.
Most days I would go to the beach and the sea gardens. Walk through the city, sit in an outdoor cafe and watch the girls stroll by.

In the evening I would spend my time in the restaurant & bars. You wont believe how inexpensive it is, to eat and drink there!

I used public transport to travel to the westernised resort called `Golden sands' where fellow Brits are sheherded to as soon as they arrive at Varna airport (about 40 mins away), just to see what it was like, but prefer Varna (the `real' Bulgaria).
Taxis are cheap, except for the sharks at the airport.

I would think may is a bit early for the Eastern european tourists, but still plenty of locals around. It is a big university city, with many students from all parts of Bulgaria. English is widely understood by most under say 35 y.o.
June is starting to be ok, but July & august is buzzing. September not too bad.

Hello I was hoping to get advice on what might be the best place to live for someone in my situation.

I am a 40 years old, have an athletic body, maybe a little above average looking and most think Im somewhere in the mid 30's. I am financially secure and have income from my business in Florida and some rentals. I currently have a home in Medellin where I spend 6 months a year and I have a home and business in SW Florida where I try my best to avoid at all costs haha.

I spent 3 months in Europe last year checking out different cities to see where I might want to buy a home and live in the spring and summer or perhaps summer and fall. I feel like all Europe is open to me because I can choose what months to live there however a mild winter would defiantly be a plus. When I was in Europe I spent time in Barcelona, Paris, Prague, Amsterdam, Budapest and Bucharest. I felt the most comfortable in Bucharest with the people probably because of the English ability of the people but I made some good friends there. I think why I hesitate is the lifestyle of the people is not quite what Im looking for. Seemed like I was back to smoking a pack a day again and I quite 10 years ago. Otherwise I enjoyed Prague a lot and probably met the nicest Women there and got laid the least[Image: smile.gif]

So what im looking for is a picturesque city in eastern Europe with intelligent, attractive Women to date for shorter and longer lasting relationships.

Medellin to add to my background is great for dating multiple Women but even though I speak conversational Spanish I find them to be homogenous and not exactly dynamic. In other words 95 percent bore me so much I usually dont go for a second date.

So I was hoping for advice on a city where I would have good opportunities to meet attractive, educated, intelligent Women to date and for possible long term relationships. So far from this forum I think in late March I will visit the Baltics, Balkans, Ukraine and specifically Odessa, check out Moldova and Belarus and perhaps get my visa to Russia. I heard saint Petersburg is nice. I also plan on learning a third language so while long term that will make things easy it will probably take at least 2 summers to begin to feel comfortable in the native language.

Thanks for taking time to read this post. Any ideas on second tier cities or countries I should concentrate on I thank you in advance.
Poland or the Baltics if you want real and gorgeous girls (they also speak english).
Russia may be cool but you need a visa and moscow is fucking expensive (but it probably has the most beautiful girls).
Ukraine is good if you want a cheap whore, a trophy woman, a girl full of complexes, gold diggers or women that desperately want you to take them out of their country.
I would never advise anyone to live there, especially if you're a normal guy and you can bang girls outside of the third world.

Thanks for the input. Its interesting to see the divergence of Opinion on Ukraine. I think thats important for me to see because I would try to match the persons opinion with the lifestyle that closest matches mine.

Do you consider Ukraine a poor choice because the desperation and poverty breeds Women that are untrustworthy and deceptive, or are you referring to the quality of life in that country overall? Im a high net worth person so i can make a good life wherever I go and tend to find the less Westernized places generally friendlier and easier to make friends and of course date Women.

I do however have problems with certain aspects of the third world mindset. for instance here in Medellin the culture does not have a strong tendency twords honesty. Women lie constantly here and it appears to be a cultural thing more than anything else. Its hard to get a handle on sometimes but then I simply need to remember that it is after all a game and I have a goal and I suppose they do as well. Do you think I will encounter pretty much the same thing in Ukraine with the Women?

Can I ask you about your lifestyle? Are you a partier or more health and fitness type like myself? Do you enjoy dating multiple girls or relationships? Im trying to get an idea of how your opionon is shaped. Thanks for the input

I didn't like Ukraine for different reasons, I'll try to list them here:
1) The language barrier: few ukrainian girls speak fluent english.
Many people here underestimate the negative consequences of this but a large group of girls are unapproachable because they speak no english at all, some others speak only basic english and it's a pain in the ass to interact with them. I really don't like it because I want to have fun when I approach someone, tell stories, make jokes, use double entendres ecc...with ukrainian girls all this can't be done.

2) Even when they speak a bit of english they are boring!! This is probably the biggest problem I have with them. I'm used to approach italian girls and I have lots of fun with them, sometimes things don't go in the direction I want but almost anytime I have fun.
Good luck to have fun with ukrainian girls! It looks like you speak to a wall.
They tend to suppress emotions and have few or nothing to share.

3) They are full of complexes. They don't see sex as something normal that happens between a guy and a girl, they see it like a prize to a man, as if they don't enjoy the sex. How stupid and annoying. They use it like a weapon to control men and it sucks
I know that girls tend to protect their reputation when it comes to sex but there is a difference between normal girls (who have sex if you establish the right privacy for them) and psycho girls (who will drag things on and on until you basically lose interest).
As a consequence ONS with decent looking girls are rare.

4) They are gold diggers. For the most part, not every girl but a good proportion of them. They enjoy luxury things, places, clothes, restaurants ecc and of course the culture there is that the man pays for everything. I can accept it on a short term basis (when we start dating), but they want it long term and I can't accept it.

5) They are deceptive, really. They want someone that take them out from their country and the majority of them are willing to do whatever it takes to reach that goal.
Some men are incredibly stupid and think that their "girlfriends" are true sweethearts! LOL.
And yeah, at a superficial level it appears it's like that because they'll cook for you, they take care of you, they act very sweet and girly but deep down those are just tools they use to appear like "perfect wife material". Once a man stupidly marry her and take her out of her country who know what will happen! Most of the time something bad happens and I can link you an italian site who is solely dedicated on ruined relationships with ukranian girls. There are really hundreds of stories and they all share the common traits listed above.
There are of course some men who have healthy relationships with them even after the marriage but the astounding amount of ruined relationships shouldn't be taken lightly.

6) Money=status. This may be bad or not, depends on your take about it. Personally I don't like it. A girl to me should have other values. If I wanna a girl who just care about money I would hire an escort rather than go to Ukraine. Of course not every girl is like that but if we consider that we'll meet the vast majority of the girls in some clubs, well...a huge % of girls in those clubs are exactly like that.

7) Food sucks.

Well, there are other reasons why I don't like Ukraine but these ones are enough to make my point.
Consider, anyway, that I'm a 23 yo guy. I seek fun and adventure and not just beauty.
When I'll be older I may change my mind and like Ukraine, but for now well, I like western girls more even though they are more difficult to score (but easier for ONS).

Poland and the Baltics are more developed than Ukraine and I like them a lot more.

P.S: I absolutely love fitness! I go to the gym 5 times a week (split workout) and I eat as best as I can. I have a very strict diet and I basically eat just organic meat, fruits and vegetables, wild caught alaskan salmon, tuna (not so much for the mercury risk), nuts and seeds.
I'm not into relationships now and I won't be for the foreseeable future, I just want to enjoy my age and the freedom.

Good luck, keep in mind that my opinion is personal and lots of guys here don't agree with me. We have different tastes.
