Where would you like to live after 65?

That's about 35 years longer than I'd like to be around.

That's what you say now ( presumably at 22 or so.) It's because you feel so superior to those older people.

But a lot of what you value as cool and progressive, and specially revealed to your generation and not others, will just seem jejune, shallow and obvious later.

If you don't smoke cigs or drink a huge amount or get fat you should feel great until you're past 40 and into early 50s.

Very few healthy 40 year olds want to die.

The unfortunate thing from your point of view is you can't be YoungTallCool when you're not Young anymore. If you're a famous actor or DJ you can be cool for longer though. Good luck with that...

My father turns 77 this year. Looks in his 50's and has a hot women. He goes out dancing 3 times a week and doesn't want to check out anytime soon.

Unless you're currently older than 50, there is no way of guessing this.
By the time I'm 65 the world is going to be a very, very different place.

I don't think the world will be THAT much different, there'll be -

Rich and poor
Fanatics and calm people
Young people and old people
War zones and mostly calm places
more computers

If you're on the "apocalypse is coming" plan you should read about what people in the year 1000 thought--- it was all going to be over.

Not sure why 'apocalypse' [Image: smile.gif]. The best countries to be in in the world will change.
Thailand might be the best now, but in 40 years Thailand might be crap. Japan in the 80s would have been an epic place to live, but in 20 years there's going to be serious problems. Hell, Iran might be a liberal secular democracy in 40years for all I know.

Yes, I think you're right in most ways. Iran liberal secular might take 75. I may have misinterpreted your "everything will be different" as being the old paranoid apocalypse stuff I hear from so many male malcontents.

But as far as availability of of hot women go, I have trouble seeing it as getting better anywhere, unless something unfortunate happens which I don't want to see. As wealth increases, which it does in most countries , women get more and more demanding.

EXCEPT what if---Obesity becomes cheaply curable with no unpleasant side effects? Just a cheap pill that makes you not like overeating!?

obesity REALLY doesn't seem as complicated to cure as it must be-- what if there were no fatties? Hey, I'll move to LA!!!

^^I actually think body optimization using drugs is going to become more and more prevalent. It's well proven that willpower is on average too weak in people to be effective. Appetite modifying drugs etc bypass that.

One problem that I can see coming up is the current low birthrates in many parts of the world. This creates a 'youth premium' as old people become more numerous than young people. An example manifestation of this is 'compensated dating' in Japan. The 'older men chasing younger women' dynamic becomes more competitive as the balance thereof changes.

Yes, and this is connected to increasing wealth in countries -- as far as I know the birth rate ALWAYS goes down as a country grows more wealthy-- there's more distractions, more shit to buy, and women don't want the "drudgery" of child-rearing when they can play on their iPhone , attention-whoring all day.

So combining our two ideas-- increasing wealth means an increasing old-young ratio, meaning we're fucked. I mean, YOU'RE fucked. I'm already old and just jerked off all over my 34 years younger (over 18) girlfriend in the Philippines.

Heh heh. Sorry kids, your world is gonna suck unless you save a lot of money FAST. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Actually there are always areas where you can arbitrage what you've got. Russia's going through the second crisis in 20 years right now. In the boonies there may be some part Asian chicks that are smoking and ready to have your babies.

I would like to hear from some of the older guys about their plans. If you are a few decades away from that age, it is impossible to tell. The world changes. If you asked me ten years ago, I probably would have said Brazil. Now there are other countries I would place ahead of Brazil.

To be honest, I'm going to end up back in the first world with the most submissive cute girl I can find. The people of the third world are just too boring. Luckily I have both EU and USA passports so I have a wide choice.

In the third world, constant family mutual reassurance duties , with deadbeat members draining and holding back the productive ones, television, and exhausting work fill up a life and make for pretty boring companions.

It's pretty brutal here, our Japanese cameras come from factories where the workers are on contract so Konica et al doesn't have direct employer responsibility, and the girl I'm dating has worked there two years and still clears less than a dollar per hour. They live in a squatter house, and can't afford $25 a month for gas so they cook with wood. I was dating college girls but the cute ones are looking for YoungTallCool and ditch at the slightest conflict back onto the dating sites or their smartphones. Or spinsterville but they don't know yet.

I'm kind of done looking for an interesting fun wife and looking towards getting a tolerable one lol. Waking up alone just sucks too much, other guys handle it better.

I think this is a good option. One that is often discouraged here, but it has advantages.

Family factors to consider:

Children/grandchildren: You may want to live close to them.

Aging parents: people live longer now. When I am 65, my parents will be in their upper 80s. I may consider it a responsibility to look after them.
