Montreal Accommodations

I agree, W hotels are kinda passé. But in MTL, girls do find it appealing.

My favorite hotels are usually Thompson Hotels or Morgans Hotels, however, they are not in MTL.

I know it's an mtl thread but what do think of the Thompson in Toronto? Seems to me like a 905 Woodbridge Gino joint that is worth staying away from....

BigXXX, you are right on. Too many cheesy gino goofs on the weekends. 1812 is nothing special but there is plenty of talent despite the douche bags.

Worth noting, if you really want to seal the deal with girl, the rooftop lounge during the weekdays is money. The main floor lounge has some good talent on a daily basis. In general, I like the energy of the hotel. It has nice rooms as well.

Ya the rooftop view facing east is hard to beat. And if you're with a girl who doesn't know the spot she will be impressed. Best to sip your drink slow cuz it's $15 a martini>>

Well, from what everyone says Montreal is a place where every American should go, since they seem to have a liking for us, black, white or Latino. However, just wondering a foreign country aimlessly. hoping to come across a good spot isn't very good time management. Does anyone know of any specific clubs and spots we should visit? I'm assuming Montreal has certain streets or neighborhoods that have most of the nightlife. Which areas are those? Does anyone know of any particular famous hot clubs? Also, where would the best day gaming be found?

The beauty about Mtl is the downtown area is small and walkable. St Catherine's St is the main strip, but my fave street is St Laurent.
Clubs and bars are always changing so I would ask a "local" what are the happening spots. Usually I would find a nice girl in a shop and ask her what she recommends.

Certainly not an MTL expert, but:

Crescent street....if you are under 25. Mind u the clubs THURSDAYS and SIR WINSTONS on this strip have been here forever and chance of SNL as high as anywhere

Saint Laurent street: hipper, classier

Nota bene, med grill, globe: touristy but guaranteed eye candy Reedonculous waitresses here ESP globe

Random joints: Tokyo, Koko, rouge

Mtl has bruthas already not sure if any extra points here

Doubt extra points for being American either. MTLers have mad style guys n girls. Your average American tourist looks sloppy compared to your average mtl dude. You can usually spot americans a mile away Dont be one of those guys-come correct with your gear. This is a very European city after all.

Thanks for the tips. I figured that there wouldn't be many point advantages for being black. Still, the liberal attitudes will still come in handy. Do you know if the weather will still be tolerable in Montreal during mid September?

UNerd, September would be fine.

Montreal is known for its summer festivals..you can coordinate a visit with something that interests you i.e. jazzfest, just for laughs comedy fest, etc.

interestingly I came across this read below...gives some tips for those looking to daygame in mtl:

Bathurst Station in Toronto is a pretty unusual choice haha, but it does have hotties going through.
I would have thought Yonge station would be more popular, considering I have done a decent amount of approaches there because of how many people there are.

Funny to see all those Missed Connections, so pathetic.

I was thinking of renting out a cool, trendy apt instead of a hotel in a cool area of Montreal as a little fuckpad for the summer in July-August. Anyone know a good place to look for apts and what areas I should focus on to be close to nightlife and day game spots?

My budget is 2,500CAD per month for the apt.

Mixx

Mixx did you even find a good apt?

I will be in the hunt for one when it gets warmer there.

For any of the people that know Montreal well, which hood would you post up in for 1-2 months?
