I don't buy the whole "Korean girls are difficult" thing either. Well not entirely. You see, they are just as slutty as anyone, but their culture is a giant cockblock.

In my limited experience, Korean chicks like foreigners just as much as the Japanese do. However, Korean society is still more conservative and Korean men are more effective at shaming their women out of dating foreigners.

Despite this, it's not impossible by any means. I'm no Nick Krauser, but I did get laid during my first week in Seoul. In clubs in Hongdae I did fine and got numbers which I didn't close. I made friends with some young Korean guys who tried to help me out by translating with girls as 90% didn't speak any English. It probably would have been a different story with decent spoken Korean.

HOWEVER, when abroad, there is no other way of putting it - Korean girls become raging sluts. Whenever I find out a girl is Korean, my dick springs to attention as I know the chances are better with them that night than the locals. In Japan, I shagged a number of Koreans speaking Japanese only to them. One was dressed like a tanned Japanese gyaru but with fake branded clothes. My impression was that they were riding the carousel of Japanese alphas in Tokyo but were intrigued enough to sleep with a white guy too.

My friends in London once had a foursome with two Korean students. I actually did the approach on the dance floor but cockblocked myself by being way too drunk. To wrap this up though, I don't think Koreans are worth it for the most part. First of all, they aren't all that hot. Walking around Myongdong you will see a hot girl every 10 minutes. In Shibuya you see 30 hot girls a minute. Simply put, the Japanese and many Chinese chicks stand above Koreans on natural beauty. Second, as discussed their country is too conservative and anti-foreigner to make it worth a long stay. From that point of view, I will take any Koreans thrown my way abroad but there's no need to go out searching for them. Go to a SEA resort or a language school in Japan and you can lay them by the bucketload.

Alright. I was in Korea for just over 3 months this last year. Most of my time was spent in a satellite city an hour away from Seoul, but I also hanged out in Gangnam during the weekends quite a bit.

Connect what dots? I only spent a few days there. Most of my time abroad was in China (check out my China datasheet in my signature if you want to know more about me). We are just trying to change the attitude around here on Travel subforum. We have had an unusual amount of trolling (mostly racial and ballerism) in the Travel section lately and we are getting to the point where we are going to be forced to tell newbies with almost no post count to put up or shut up, especially when they make bold claims.

A simple google search reveals dozens of art galleries, a contemporary art fair that just wrapped in October, at least two symphony orchestras, and numerous concert halls and ballet studios, all in Manila.

Also, the Philippines is just one country in Southeast Asia, a region consisting of 11 different nations. You might consider cities like Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, if you're looking for something more cosmopolitan.

Then move somewhere less polluted...? There are options even within the Phils for that. Davao, for instance.

I've never said the Philippines, Southeast Asia, or anywhere was without fault. I can point out plenty of things I don't like.

My point was and continues to be that NOWHERE is perfect. Every city, every country, every region has distinct advantages and disadvantages which must be weighed. For some, certain advantages will be more important and certain disadvantages will be more noticeable.

Some guys want a country with beautiful women on every corner and will overlook certain things to get that. Other guys would prefer somewhere with breathtaking natural beauty, terrific business opportunities, etc. and will overlook the fact that they have to look a little harder to find the hotter women.

The level-headed among us can say, "this place isn't for me, I'm going to try somewhere else", rather than the "this place sucks, you guys are all losers!!!" reaction I often see regarding SEA.

I didn't call anyone out. I made some general statements about Thailand (and SEA) that evidently hit a nerve in your case.

Well, now that you mentioned it...the humidity in Thailand has made my skin a little more oily than normal.

In all seriousness, I get approached a fair amount here too, by decent-looking girls.

I have to agree with you somewhat. The girls are not hard I think. They even seem to take interest in black men based upon the level of IOI and interaction I saw when I was there for 2 days. I still think the sweet spot are Koreans in the southern U.S. They are down home traditional, semi-religious in a good way, and don't have the west/east coast angst of their brethren. The hottest girls in Thailand i've met usually have OK english in because they were usually Thai-chinese with good education. They just don't like to speak it with people they don't like.
