Starting to get good at game....then found a girl

I have to play devils advocate here.

To not roll the dice on a new relationship with a chick you really like, to work on "game" instead, is retarded.

What's the point in getting good at game if not to use it to be with one you really like?

It sounds like you're currently at one of the best stages in the life of a ladies man; after the initial learning curve, but still before the icy veteran stage. You still have the gift of the beginners mind. After that goes away and you get good at this shit, finding another chick you really like again could take many months, even years.

The game isn't going anywhere. It will still be waiting should things not work out with this 1 girl.

Plus relationship game is still game. You have to put in work regardless. Just a different type.

Do whatever it is that makes you happy.

That said, you'd do well to heed the advice given here warning against the dangers of pedestalization (oneitis).

Don't do that, and you'll be straight.

I felt that way when I was 17 and lost my virginity. Got my heart broken and the words "you're skinny like a twig still resonate with me til this day" which is what got me into lifting in the first place.

My story is similar to yours. I knew her when I was 7, was too shy to talk to her. Lost contact, met up 10 years later, lost my v card.

The reason why I felt "special"? I felt that I "finally" "achieved" my "goal" and got the girl. Boy was I wrong.

You're still reeling from the emotional high you get from the validation you've received from "getting the girl". There's nothing wrong with this, just make sure that it doesn't cloud your judgment in any way, look out for red flags, don't bend over backwards.

Godspeed.
