My own experiences of LOS (land of smiles) from 4 trips and working there one of them:

While Im aware Thais look down on the Indians living in their own country, I can't think of a single episode of feeling this myself (im of indian background). Overall, people were quite hospitable. An aside is that Thais would hate to learn how much of their culture is influenced from India...from the Thai Massage, the temples, down to their names. But that's another matter.

Girls: One of the best in Asia for percentage of hot girls and stunners are not rare. The hottest girl I've been with (at least as a gf) was from BKK.

Nightlife: The usual spots can be lame...i..e. Q Bar etc the names dont change. You have to party where local Thais do...Went to a number of joints (?Klymaxx was one) that were off the hook and I was the only tourist. Karaoke bars can also be a lot of fun.

Food: Amazing. Once you eat in Thailand, you won't be able to set foot into 95% of thai restaurants in north america

A word on fighting: Ill swallow my pride any day of the week. I've got things to do the next day. If you can afford a flight overseas, chances are any dude you tangle with has a lot less to lose than you. Defending yourself is of course another matter.

Upscale after hours - there's Baroque which is right across from RCA, there's a few more places sprinkled around RCA - don't know the names, follow the crowd! Hollywood on Ratchada (more middle class than upper class, but can be quite nice for after hours tho). Narcisuss becomes after hours on the weekends. Scratch Dog on suk 21 (ambassador hotel) is lame in the sense that it's Thai style (no dancing), but gets hot girls and stays open very, very late. Lots of working girls here, tho, and few Westerners, but the girls can be way better than the sleazy after hours in terms of looks. There's another one on Thngolor I cant quite remember the name of, and there's ones that pop in and out of existence. Make friends with friendly Thais at a regular club and they'll show you all sorts of places you never knew existed! Just try not to be tto drunk to remember the way back

Thanks for that. Yeah I did make friends with many Thais but none of them had much idea about after hours strangely. Even when asking randoms people in RCA etc when clubs closed where to go they'd say there wasn't anywhere or tell me Spicy which I already knew about.

Are these places open and busy 7 nights or just weekends?
