I think Asian's undersell themselves and buy into the whole negative stereotype. Sometimes you can be your worse enemy!
If you are Asian, dress well, no accent and carry yourself well there is no reason why you cannot get girls.
I have a good friend in the UK who is Indian (English born) and he has no problem whatsoever with women, point being he does not give a fcuk.
I have met quite a few girls who are really into that whole eastern spirituality/religion stuff, an easy market to tap into if you are asian.
Also alot of girls are into Indian movies! The romance factor!
Alot of sites do not cater for minorities, sometimes you have to read between the lines.

I'm Indian but born/raised in the USA.

I think another problem with Indians (both ones born in India or in the west) is that they typically are mothers-boys. Their moms control their freaking lives. I know tons of Indian dudes who are way too pussy to even approach girls in bars/clubs. It is just freaking sad. Lots of desi dudes never grow any backbone because they have been turned into major pussies by their mothers.

Then there also is the stereotype that Indian guys smell and don't know how to behave around women (both true IMO, at least with repsect to dudes from India). It is fucking sad. A lot of stereotypes you can't alter, but these two about Indians could easily be changed if Indian dudes just behaved better and took showers/wore deodorant. It really sucks that these guys ruin the reputation of all Indian dudes. And I wish that Indian dudes in places like Goa would stop going there so they can walk up and down the beach looking at white women in bikinis. Indians are so fucking repressed it is sad. They need more strip clubs in India. They need to actually have real dating in India so dudes don't have all this pent up frustration their entire lives. It is so counter productive and backwards right now.

The sad thing is that while Asian and Black dudes would have a really tough time altering the stereotypes of their groups, Indian guys could do it easily just by behaving and wearing fucking deodorant.

There were only a couple of guys who could figure out my real ethnicity and one of them was a taxi driver, so he had a lot of experience with tourists from different countries. This will be case in Europe and maybe North America. In South American I am quite confident that I and most North Indians can easily mix with the local population.

Its a different story in SEA. I am in Thailand right now and my first impression is that people think that I am from Iran. Most people can tell I'm Indian I guess cause I have exactly brown skin and large eyes. But I get all sorts of other guesses while traveling. In a few countries people have asked if I'm Israeli (including in Sri Lanka which was weird since Sri Lankans and Indians are indistinguishable). A lot of people ask if I'm Arab, but I'm not sure the really even know the difference between an Arab and an Indian. Anyone with those features to them is Arab I think.

And then there are funny reactions from white tourists. I swear in Thailand there were white tourists who would ask me directions thinking I'm a local. There is no fucking way a normal person could think I'm Thai but I think to white people anyone with darker skin is Thai. I guess it's the same way I look at Europeans. They all sorta look the same to me.

I'd say that in countries that have no Indian populations (like Latin America and the Philippines, basically anywhere not in the British Empire), it is much easier to just blend in. People haven't seen any Indians before. They have no negative vibes about Indians. In South America they even think I'm a local a lot of times. In America though I've never really been confused with being Latino, even though a lot of Mexicans are pretty dark. I suppose a lot of white people might think in their head I'm Mexican since to them everyone who is brown is either a illegal alien or a Islamic terrorist but they never really voice this opinion.

Yeah, Indian guys from India are the worst. They are only one step above a prehistoric barbarian. You should check out Goa during the high seasons. Bus loads of Indian men will go over there and then walk up and down the beach wearing pants and long sleeve shirts while holding hands (men hold hands in India if they are friends). They'll do nothing but stare down white chicks in bikinis, as if they haven't ever seen a women before (they haven't).

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of Indian people live their life in misery simply because they want to conform to the pathetic Indian social code. Whether it's putting up with a crappy spouse, parent, family member, or job they will do it simply because they have a "duty" to do it.

And don't even mess around with Indian women raised in India. They have the mentality of 12 year old girls. I gave up on them a long time ago. Yeah, Japan is a shithole. The cops in Tokyo love stopping brown and black dudes and asking for ID. It was fucking pathetic. I must have been stopped at least a dozen times in six months.

With reference to my recent Polish experience, I must say that Polish officialdom takes a poor view of brown guys traveling thru their country.

I was stopped thrice during my stay of 11 days and subjected to a freaking detailed questioning about why I chose to spend my time in Poland.

The first time, I was with a cool Polish chick at the Wroclaw railway station (just after arriving) and this meathead official saunters out of nowhere, asks to see my passport and my Swiss permit, then runs all details thru his handheld system for 15 minutes, calls his partner and then asks me detailed questions on where I am staying and why I am passing thru. It got to the point where the Polish chick was clearly embarrassed about it and she profusely apologized. I brushed it off.

The second time was when I was leaving Wroclaw for Krakow. Same incident and same mode of questioning. This time it happened outside the railway station when I was whiling away my time waiting for the train.

The third time was in Krakow near the main market square. There was a security cover being put up for the late pope John Paul II's beatification ceremony and I "happened" to be picked up for questioning.

Of course, there is nothing that you can do about it, but for a brief second, I did contemplate questioning their reason to check me. Then of course, I realized that this would make things even more difficult for me and just bore the whole thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if other brown guys reported the same experience traveling thru other EE countries.

Yeah, well I've been backpacking for 14 months now and in my life I've been to over 70 countries. I agree with you generally that brown dudes will get subjected to shit that whites wont in a lot of countries but to be honest I have to admit that in the vast majority of places I've surprisingly had no problems.

Only places that have sucked have been Israel (I'm a fucking terrorist whereever I go), Japan and Hong Kong (Im a drug dealer), and parts of South Africa and Namibia (they just hate anyone who isn't white, they are still living in the 1950's).

And of course most places I go they have white fever. So if I'm in Thailand of the Philippines they will prefer a blind retarded 50 year old white dude over me, on the basis that the white dude will have more money (which is funny because I probably have a higher net worth than 90% of white dudes who travel but that's another issue). I actually dont consider this discrimination because (a) it is so fucking sad seeing non-white ppl not having any self-respect and (b) most of this type of racism occurs in shady types of activities ie girlies bars. I don't really care if a fucking hooker prefers a fucking white dude who is probably a plumber in Ohio over me. That is her deal, not mine. There's a reason she is fucking hooker, cause she is fucking stupid. I don't fucking worry about it.

Anyway, so I agree that being brown generally doesn't have many advantages but in my experience it is actually not that bad. I really benefit from being able to go to a lot of places in the world and be treated like a local. There are Indian people in basically every country that was part of the former British Empire, so I simply don't deal with the BS that white tourists do. Also, I don't have to worry about being jumped by 5 fucking dudes if I walk outside my hotel once it's dark because generally speaking no one wants to fucking rob an Indian dude. Hell, tonight I'm in some shithole city in the Philippines and I just walked outside to get food at 2am at night and I had no fucking worries. If I was blond god knows what would have happened.
