Yeah for sure but it shows you what the potential is when they graduate to a higher level in social class, nutrition, American dentistry etc. Give it a little time, and also wait and watch for the deadly white-Mexi blends. It will be as if someone turned on a spigot and the sickest pussy imaginable is streaming out of it and there is no end to it.

So they are going to rise classes with everyone having part time jobs and no benefits? Don't see it happening. More jobs will be marginalized with automation, the squeeze will only get worse as we add more people.

Buy stocks - corporations are running everyone else into the ground.

Asian immigrants have tiger moms.

Hispanic households do not have anything close. A 24yo mom with 3 kids from 2 dad's isn't a tiger mom.

Quote: (11-19-2014 09:44 PM)Matt Forney Wrote:

The most basic measure of a government's effectiveness is the ability to maintain the rule of law, without selectiveness or discrimination. A government that can't enforce its laws, or only enforces them selectively, is a failed state. See: Somalia, or to a lesser extent, kleptocracies like Thailand or the Philippines where bribery and intimidation are an accepted way of doing business.

By ramming this executive order down everyone's throat, Obama has shown that the USA is a failed state.

Earlier today, I was listening to the radio when I heard about a new bill signed into law by New York's Il Duce Andrew Cuomo. The law establishes new regulations for childcare and daycare operators by banning them from serving soda or sugary drinks to kids and making them do a certain amount of exercise per day. The law also bans anyone who legally owns guns from operating a daycare, even if the guns are locked up per pre-existing state regulations.

I was talking about this with a friend and we both asked the same question: how is the state going to enforce this? Either they'll hire a bunch of commissars to do snap inspections of daycares (which is yet another overreach of government power) or they won't enforce it (in which case the law might as well not exist).

The United States has the NSA running a spy operation on every single American hooked up to the Internet, reading your emails and jerking off to your girlfriend's nude selfies. If you forget to carry a digit on your taxes, they have the power to ram IRS audits up your ass. If you forget to return a library book on time, they have the power to seize your driver's license. If they decide you're a "terrorist," they have the power to assassinate you with a drone, without any due process, even if you're on the other side of the world. They have the power to seize your guns because it's for the CHILLLDDDRRREEENNN!!!!1

But they can't deport a few million illegal aliens (and retroactively strip their anchor baby children of citizenship) because, um, they just can't!

It's over. If it wasn't obvious that the United States is a hopelessly corrupt, impotent banana republic, Obama and the amnesty supporters just drove it home. There is no rule of law in this country any more. There are two classes of people: those who have to follow the government's edicts (read: you and me), and those who are exempt (the ultra-wealthy and the Latino underclass). All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

We don't even have the benefits of living in a structurally corrupt country like the Philippines or Thailand: namely good weather, low cost of living and attractive, agreeable girls.

You want to support amnesty? Fine. You want to claim we have "no choice" but to reward lawbreakers? Fine. But don't act like the rest of the world isn't watching us and laughing right now. America is cooked as a world power. A nation that can't enforce the rule of law is a nation that is doomed.

The Chinese in particular are watching us and laughing. Look for the U.S. to become a fully-owned subsidiary of the People's Republic in the next decade. Flipping burgers for $3 an hour (thanks to all those illegal aliens dragging down wages and helping employers circumvent minimum wage laws) is the future for most Americans. They won't even be able to pull rickshaws for their Chinese masters because most of them are too fucking fat.

God bless America! Land of the cowardly, home of the slave!

The shit is super depressing, but there is one ray of schadenfraude I can get from all this: the idea of pushing down wages is laughable, because high wages is what has allowed prices of consumer goods to remain so high in the U.S. for years. Economies are always about balance: weaker economies have lower wages, but generally speaking, a lower cost of living (like a $3 lunch in Peru). By driving down wages, these companies get a temporary boost, but in the long run, they are limiting the amount they can charge for their goods (reduced demand due to weak economic wages).

Henry Ford got a few things right. One was that his employees should be able to purchase the cars they produce.

Are you sure you understand the implications of what you are suggesting here?

Denying certain American-born children birthright citizenship would already constitute a historically unprecedented reversal of the long-standing Wong Kim Ark ruling's interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment's Citizenship Clause ... but retroactively stripping birthright citizenship that has already been legally granted?!?

While there are certain countries that practice this in cases where a citizen by birthright acquires another nationality, there are only a few countries that spring to mind when it comes to having stripped birthright citizens of their citizenship even if they didn't acquire another citizenship - and those are the Soviet Union as well as- cue Godwin's law- the German Reich (pre-WWII).

The Soviet Union was notorious for stripping regime critics and dissidents of their citizenship.

In the Reich, you could be stripped of your citizenship if you refused military service, and in the Third Reich, your citizenship could also be stripped if you were Jewish and you left German territory.

Unpopular but sincere statement: every single wave of mass immigration to the US was met with the complaints that people in this thread are making. Those complaints pretty much all turned out to be bullshit, and this time won't be any different. This seems like one of the few net-positive things Obama has done in office. In the long run it's a net benefit for Americans who are already here. And as a bonus, it will break the welfare state faster.

A rising tide lifts all boats dude. Technological progress -- of which you're a fan I think -- means everyone gets to rise in class as far as all sorts of physical things go.

I can tell you that I'm seeing black ghetto bitches with levels of skin and dentition that are scary. I mean bitches that are supposed to be low class and are looking nice in the way low class bitches aren't supposed to look. Want proof? Look at that subway F train slap video and really look closely at some of these hoes. There are interesting things going on with how they look, and there weren't many Queensbridge bitches looking that way 20 years ago.

I never thought about leaving the country except for maybe 1 year abroad.

Birthright citizenship is a pretty outdated idea. Most countries don't have this and require at least one parent to be a citizen. This is a perfectly fair policy because it ensures people aren't taking tours over the border or by plane to drop anchor babies down to get citizenship.

Yeah, as someone who loves Latinas, there's a lot to like about this [Image: smile.gif] Actually, I like most central and south Americans in general. I don't like the way Obammy is doing this - unilaterally. It has the potential to backfire in a big way. You'd think, after ramming Obammycare down our throats and seeing it become so unpopular, he'd learn. I think Hitlary is no sure thing to win in 2016, the way Obammy is teeing things up for her.

Fine with me...I'd like my taxes lowered, and a GOP President and Congress seem the best way to achieve that.

It's really a mixed bag at this point.

While the overall quality of life can still be good, the US has serious SMP imbalance issues that don't make it an ideal choice for a single male. If you are able to learn a foreign language and adapt to living outside the States, it is definitely worth considering.

Again, "birthright citizenship" refers to any citizenship acquired at birth, whether by birthplace (jus soli) or by parentage (jus sanguinis).

What people in this thread actually mean when they talk about abolishing birthright citizenship is restricting or abolishing jus soli.

The assimilation process for Mexican-Americans or any American really goes something like this:

--Immigrant: Native Spanish/Weak English
--First Generation: Good Spanish/Native English (We get Spanglish)
--Second Generation: Weak Spanish/Native English
--Third Generation: Little to no Spanish/Native English

While that is the way it worked in the past, it doesn't necessarily have to shake out that way going forward. A possible outcome would be a general shift towards a fully bilingual English/Spanish culture- much like it works these days in the Nordics and other parts of Northern Europe.

It is simply a part of their culture that kids grow up bilingual in their mother language and in English. Since it's in the culture, it comes naturally and every day, I see Scandinavian kids as young as five years old speak perfectly good English. So if they can do it, there is no reason why Americans couldn't.

True, but that usually only works in more progressive European countries where learning another language is often seen as a leg up. Many people in Europe know like 3 languages and its encouraged by the government.

America tends to go the other way with this and many people make no qualms of keeping America as a strictly English country. Sure there are some communities here or there where you will see Spanish or Chinese or Polish written on businesses, but the institutional structure is still for the most part English. The language of power in the U.S. is English. Back in the early 1900s there was a lot of German immigrants with even schools teaching German and many Americans were worried that everyone will be speaking German. As time went by those German Americans got sucked up in the American culture and the language was lost.

Believe me, I'm all for being bi-lingual and preserving the culture of your roots, but as time goes by it is virtually impossible especially in this country. I can know Spanish now, but history has shown us that my son will probably know a little Spanish and his son will know no Spanish and so on. My father taught me Spanish as a kid, but its still not as good as his. The language gets lost as time goes by.
