I was also in Jakarta recently and I concur with everything you've said. The other times i've been in Jakarta I hung out with a socially well connected Chinese-Indo dive buddy of mine. Unfortunately he's working outside the country now. It was easy to bang off his social circle back then (all Chinese-Indo) and I didn't even do much nightlife or online stuff at all.

Running solo though I have noticed that all my matches on Tinder were still from Chinese-Indonesians and nary a muslim. I get far less quantity of matches in Jakarta compared with Manila or Bangkok though.

I found it a bit of a chore to chat with and get these girls out a lot of them were really working full time.

I'm asian so I didn't get the bule groupies. It appears to me that most of the hardcore groupies are Javanese. I'm here for other reasons as well so I didn't do much nightlife.

Just from online dating bangs the Philippines is still the best for me and next would be Bangkok.

For social circle banging results in the past i'd say Manila and Jakarta are on par though.

The majority of girls I got with online were javanese. Had just 2 or 3 chinese. The Indian ones are a pain in the ass.

Hey guys, I've bought a return ticket to Bali and I've got about 5 weeks to spend in Asia. I had already spent some time in Java before and I've been to Yogya and Jakarta, got the flag etc. I speak a bit of the lingo (Indonesian) and enjoy studying it.

I haven't been to Bali before so I want to check that out and maybe Lombok or Surabaya, but I also want to check out The Philippines (albeit, I got the flag here in my home country already) as I haven't been there yet.

The way the flights work out would make it optimal to spend either 2 weeks or 4 weeks in The Philippines. If you were me would you A. Spend 1 week in Indonesia and 4 weeks in The Philippines or B. Spend 3 weeks in Indonesia and 2 weeks in The Philippines?

Filipinas are more good looking and have better skin.
Indonesian girls flake more, much more than Filipinas.

My experience in Yogyakarta, Indonesia was that the online dating platforms were exhausted pretty quickly (Tinder and Indonesiancupid), in a matter of a few weeks. I did get a few notches there but if you were going to stay there long term you'd have to tap into day/nightgame. The pros of the city is that there are other western foreigners to socialise with and there are Indonesian language schools there to study the lingo. Getting around is difficult without a motorbike as there isn't very good pedestrian foot paths. If you wanted to maximise notches in Indonesia I'd recommend going to a bigger city such as Jakarta (been there) or maybe Surabaya (haven't been there, anyone care to comment?).

Javanese girls tend to have more ass and tits than Filipinas (I haven't been to The Phils, but from what I can compare with images from dating websites), and generally nicer/neater facial features (rounder eyes, smaller lips, pointier noses). They are browner though if that's not your thing. I'm not sure which between Filipinas and Indos are easier though, someone could chime in on that.

It seems as though the expat scene is smaller in Java than in The Philippines in general but I'm not sure. I'd like to set up in a place with a good balance between making western male friends and getting a good number of girls but at a cheaper price than Jakarta or Manila. I think maybe Cebu or Surabaya would be ideal for me.

I beg to differ about Filipino girls being better . I’ve dated more than 8 Filipino girls and some were ok or real good in bed. But all of them had bad attitudes and cared mostly about money. A lot were immature and looks wise was pretty good but personality were mostly crazy. That country is far more poor than Indonesia I noticed too. Indonesian girls I noticed are more curvy , better smiles , great in bed , Gave good bjs. There attitude was little better but most woman are a little crazy in my opinion.
