How often do you get pulled over by the cops?

In 15 years of driving, I've been pulled over 3 times. Once because I had a newly transferred car with no plates visible from back (after driving like that for a month), another for missing the classic speed reduction speed trap on a highway (got warning for being out of state), and then another not sure if it counts, but was lost in Buffalo, driving around, didn't like the road I was going down late at night so slowed a lot, then pulled over to let the tailgater on my ass pass so I could turn around, turns out he pulled over too and the lights came on... (Does that count?)

So all I guess what you could call, "real" reasons, never just being hassled it seems.

I'm a very cautious driver but I'd say once every 3-5 years. I've gotten off with mostly warnings because of that.

Every once in a while I come upon places where the speed limit is far too low based on the actual grade and curvature of the road. The speed limit may change from 50 to 35 without you noticing it if you're tired. These are the spots where they usually get me. Cops will wait at the bottom of hills, too, where your speed tends to creep up.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

I've been pulled over somewhere between 20 and 25 times in the twenty-one years that I've been driving. I bought a new car in April and haven't been pulled over since then. I've been given tickets no more than five times, only two of which were for speeding. I think every time I've gone to court, the charges have been dropped. I've posted before about how to act when you come into contact with the police. I'd estimate that about 99% of the world says and does the completely wrong things when they get pulled over.

Too often.
I've been pulled over 10 times in the past four years, only once did I get a ticket.

About two years ago I was pulled over two Saturdays in a row pulling out of the same gas station. The second time I was a little pissed off and asked the officer, "So hey, just what did I do?" The response I got was priceless:
"Are you trying to say I pulled you over for no reason?" As someone who's been in law enforcement, what a dumb fucking thing to say.

The best was when I was in a car with a white girl who was driving, she got pulled over and he had me get out of the car.

I'm not saying DWB is a thing, but to brothers coming to MN, watch your ass.

If you are going to impose your will on the world, you must have control over what you believe.

On average about once every two years, normally for something stupid other than speeding because I rarely go more than 5 mph over the limit. Only one ticket, which was some speed trap bullshit in Texas like 10 years ago. I'm always polite to cops, no reason to get pissy, not because I respect them particularly but because pissing them off with an attitude sure isn't going to help matters. It might help that every time I've been pulled over I either had a military ID or veteran plates.

I've been pulled over several times for having an illegal tint on my truck windows, which I did eventually remove; it was the same cop each time, on campus, who said he pulled me over because he couldn't see if I had my seatbelt on. Each time I just played dumb about tint laws and he didn't ticket me. I removed the tint because I was sick of being hassled and it honestly was kinda dangerous in that it wasn't easy to see if a car was right next to me on the right side at night.

Never in a car, multiple times on foot.

OP, being in a canadian car in a border state is a high risk to get pulled over.
