Also, what age do you guys put in? I just turned 27 and I find I generally succeed with 18-24 year old girls in my day game approaches. Should I keep my real age or go a bit younger (which I can get away with as girls have told me I look younger than I am)?

26-27 is the perfect age for girls in that bracket.

I only swipe girls my age or younger. I didn't realize most guys were swiping and getting matches from big age ranges until very recently, so I'm sure that has cost me pussy -.-

Edit:

I should add that you can tell I'm dressed well in all of my pictures, and in one of them I'm in a suit.

That's a tough thing to pull off and have it look natural. I think it has more downside than upside.

Upside: Pre+selection, might make you look high-status with women

Downside: Might make some women think you're a try-hard douche(if not pulled off very well), might make them think you're a player(even if you are, no need to scare the cat), if the girls in the photo are of a certain "type" such as blondes, a girl that's attractive but looks nothing like the girls in your photos may think she's not what you're into and swipe left.

I think ideally, a photo with a mixed set of diverse, good looking people would work best.

Recently I re-did my tinder profile. Removed the "party pics" and pictures of myself trying to look buff in wife-beaters. Now I use as my profile photo a photo that my dentist took when I got new crowns. Works just about every time and no need to search for "unnatural" photo's with girls as that makes you look too much like a player and tends to attract a lot of spam/fake profiles.

I cant beleive it
Every 200 girl I swipe I get one match
Maybe those guys are too damn good looking, or I'm just fuckin ugly. The only places I can come near a 40% match level is philippines
Some people say they get 150-200 matches a day in NYC
If I swipe the whole day, ill get maybe 4-5

I think tinder limits your matches if you swipe for everyone, no other explanation.

So far it appears the best picture I have that works for me on Tinder is one taken in the middle of the woods standing on my Jeep's front bumper with a river in the background. I prefer not to use close up shots since I'm still cutting and have a little jowl/double-chin.

Evidently I'm better looking than I thought, since I get 1 match every 50 swipes when set to 15 miles (my town). It goes up a little when I include the college town 30 miles away. It's also full of hotties which makes me facepalm and want to move.

Well the thing is, I didn't mass swipe, I left out the fatties, and swiped rest of the girls who were in the normal BMI range. After not getting any matches I went crazy and started swiping everyone, got matched with a gay dude instantly, he was like hey good looking. I don't know if I should be happy the guy was a solid 7, there are a lot of gay guys who set their gender as female to get straight mass swiper matches.

I agree. I'm 6'4, well built, and with an above average face. My main pic is me on the beach. I mass-liked around 15k chicks as well, and probably only got 100 matches. Either girls are selective to the point of insanity, or something is up.

I'm not currently on Tinder. But someone should do an experiment. Swipe right on no more than 30 girls a day and see if your match rate goes up. If it does, then we'll know for sure that mass swiping will sink your profile.

Just a few quick hits to anyone starting out:

-Ask girls you know what they think your best pic is. I just mentioned in the official tinder thread I initially used a headshot as my main pic that made me look movie star handsome. Got minimal matches. Changed it to a full body suit pic where my face wasn't nearly as good - not "ugly," but certainly not what the headshot pic was in terms of aesthetics. Matches doubled. Because although my face looked better in the first, it didn't make for a particularly interesting picture. Nothing about it said "swipe right on me! I'm a fun guy!" I would say, if I had to choose between coming across as model sexy or a fun, social guy, I would pick the latter for tinder. I wasn't smiling in that headshot either which probably made me look more scary than sexy. Still, shoot for fun and casual in your shots.

-Don't worry about your profile. If you're tall, your height should definitely be the first thing you write. After that it doesn't really matter. Maybe one silly/funny/clever line and that's it. They do what we do, swipe first and read later.

-I tried to do a slow burn over the summer because my logistics weren't great. Tried to dip my toe in the water and create some rapport in the meantime before setting up an official date when I had the time. Doesn't work. Or at least it didn't for me. If you're using tinder, you should be using it with the intention of meeting the girl within no more than a 2 week time frame. Anything more and I doubt you will hear from her after that. Just been my experience. Of course ymmv.

-Don't mass swipe. First, it may actually do more harm than good as there is some speculation that swiping on everything makes you look like a bot and your profile may fall to the end of the line. Secondly, it's a bummer when you get a new match notification and it's a girl you're not attracted to. Just swipe right on girls you actually like.

-5 miles didn't work for me, 10 miles didn't work for me. Most of my matches are in the 15 mile radius. I can't explain why that is, but that's been my experience. I don't get matches at 5, 10, or 20 for some reason (maybe too far). 15 seems to be the meaty part of the scale. Just something to keep in mind.

I did a quick google search, and there's a theory that Tinder's algorithm relegates mass-swipers to the bottom of the results (e.g. you'll be the last like a girl sees), for two reasons:

1) to weed out bots. Bots are obviously mass-likers

2) So that mass-likers don't pop to the top of every girl's profile in the city, thereby squeezing out the regular users.

Still need somebody to actually try the experiment like Speakeasy said though

I keep things short and sweet, opener, few flirt/joke lines, close.

Has anybody tried deleting their Tinder profile after doing a lot of auto-liking and then checking the results? I'll probably try it at some point.

So the million dollar question is how many left swipes do you need to do per 100 to make sure you're not screwed?

I don't understand all these theories you guys have about swiping.

I don't think there is an algorithm that puts top swipers up top.

I don't think there is a left to right swipe ratio you need.


Maybe it's my pics but I get matches daily, I can get a 1-3 numbers daily (if I'm on it all the time).


I choose 15 mile radius at home, 7 miles at work. My age range is maxed out and I don't mass swipe, I pick and choose what girls I swipe right and left.

I use all the slots for my cool pics, post a funny, bio, changed my age to 24.

I'm located in large suburb in Southern California which is about 45 mins outside LA (orange county).


Honestly, this thread needs to merge back into the main Tinder App thread.
