How A Plus-Size Girl Navigates the Pin-Thin World of Fashion

https://www.yahoo.com/style/plus-size-mo...67668.html

It is just some article about a fat chick and how hard it is to shop.

What caught my eye is...
Quote:Quote:

If they did, they’d see that the average woman today wears a size 14 (In 1985, she wore a size 8.)

Fuck...

“Let’s stop shaming the situation,” he says. “A 14 is beautiful. She doesn’t always want to be a 12. Women want to have boobs and butts. They love having curves, and the designers should be embracing that too.”

Quote:Quote:

With celebrities like Lena Dunham, Christina Hendricks, or Sofîa Vergara on the red carpet nowadays too, there are more opportunities for designers to show off what they can do with different body types besides Jennifer Aniston’s. “These celebrities need to be dressed, and sometimes it’s a one-off made specifically for them by the designer,” Dakin says. “It gets them great exposure. Women can say, ‘Lena wore this, and I want it.’”

That was a cheap move to try and equate Lena with the other two. Hendricks and Vergara should be pissed.

This doesn't seem photoshopped.

would be totally bangable, possibly even hot if she just dropped 40 pounds. What a waste. WNB because she is too fat. And yeah, she has the average american attitude and is enjoying the average american diet. the real problem is that she isn't entirely wrong about that.

Sadly, there are millions of women that would kill to be that "small"

Disgustingly, there are millions of men that would wife that chick up

This girl is good dry-spell breaking material.

Sadly, if she lost only a couple dozen pounds she'd be much more than that.

Nothing puts on the pounds like the hamster. If she's written this article, you can bet she'll hit the wall very hard.

It's incredible how chicks like this won't put in a little work to get massive payback. It's like if you had an office job paying $50k a year, and I said, hey, I'll double your salary if you wear a sharp suit to work every day. What kind of lazy bumfuck would say no? These chicks are crazy, certifiably demented. But no, you can't put away the cupcakes and the soda.

Actually she's got a good gig. My guess is if she lost weight she'd be just another skinny hot chick so I don't exactly blame her for keeping the pounds on.

The same way Pluto navigates the solar system: Just orbiting on the far side, sometimes even being part of it when they allow it.

Really, no matter how much fatties want to push acceptance on other people, the fact is that they all wished they could be at least 10 sizes smaller but are too lazy to do anything about it.

"Women should accept their bodies nomatter what size they wear. But only if they are fat like me. Because real women have curves"

Thats a pretty face, shame to have it wasted on such a shapeless body.

Sofia Vergara, by the way, age 42:

[Image: 2014_05_26_1235_1401122147_436400905_original.jpg]

Lena Dunham, age 28:

I had to google her, what is she famous for?

I always like that when I read articles like this, they inevitably show up on RVF.

In addition, I noticed the same things you did. The whole size issue, that a 14 is beautiful, and last but certainly not least, equating Dunham to the other two.

Do feminists now think that we don't have the power of sight?

The promotion of obesity as healthy and attractive is insane. That it is accepted and any questioning of it results in being ostracized is absolutely mind boggling.

I feel like we are in a post apocalyptic survival film, where a large (pun intended) group of people have taken over and are spreading lies that are accepted as truth through some sort of brainwashing. Think Soylent Green or They Live.

The hamster is strong in this one - and the commentators are equally in La-La-Land:

Quote:Quote:

When I turned 25, my boyfriend (now husband) gave me a gift card for Victoria's Secret for my birthday. I was happy about going shopping there, until the saleswoman looked me up and down and said pointedly, "We do not make anything in your size." Humiliated, I bought an umbrella there and left feeling horrible. (At that time, I wore a size 14.) Although I knew I was not overweight for my body size and height, I was basically dehumanized in that store and never shopped there again. I know I'm not a supermodel, but I'm also no an orca whale, either. I hope this store does not still treat customers that way anymore.

This is by the way a realistic depiction of the average size 14 in a bikini - and not with the wobbly bits in a tutu:

[Image: article-2071870-0F1C048F00000578-621_196x485.jpg]

Now this article has 2 distasteful and even shocking statements:

1. All women are supposed to look like the one above
2. There is an equalities minister in the UK - Newspeak is here

Sofia Vergara regrets not working out

OFIA Vergara (pix) has confessed she regrets not exercising more in her younger years and prefers her 42-year-old body.

The 'Modern Family' star has confessed she only realised the importance of regular exercise when she hit her landmark 40th birthday two years ago.

The brunette beauty told Shape magazine: "Well, everyone knows that I've never been into working out.

"Then I hit 40 and I started seeing a softness everywhere on my body. I read a lot about how your metabolism drops when you age. I knew it was time to do something, so I did.

"I wish I had worked out more when I was younger and taken it as seriously as I do now."

Sofia, 42 - who is dating hunky actor Joe Manganiello - added that although she was "happy" with her body as a youngster, she prefers her new shape after putting in the hours at the gym.

She explained: "I was always very happy with what I have. I mean, like any woman I'd complain that my thighs were too big or whatever, but I felt comfortable with my curves - people expected me to have them.

"My body is looking better than it used to." – Bang Media

Of course not. That isn't the point. But it's simple to see that very few women of above average ['conventional'] attractiveness are ardent 'feminists' or harp on these causes. There's no need or reason to indulge in a negative worldview when the world caters to your whim because you're attractive. Sure there are the ['damaged'] outliers or exceptions that prove the rule.

But, having posited this, it's simple to understand that for the remainder of less than average attractiveness, there are some aspects of attractiveness that can be controlled (weight) and some that simply cannot (body somatotype, facial attractiveness/symmetry etc.) and things like weight require some degree of discipline. Which is hard work, and who in Western society is really going to go to that kind of effort?

When you boil it down, it's simply a sexual marketplace strategy to mitigate flaws and maximize value under adverse conditions by redefining basic metrics with the minimum amount of additional expenditure of effort.

Lena Dunham is wasting away her physical prime "potential" (if there is much of a potential in any case) to prove to herself (AND SOCIETY) that she doesn't need to be beautiful to be happy in this world. Well, that's fine and well, except one has to wonder what the fuck her boyfriend is thinking. What's his deal?

My guess is that he's using the fame that rubs off on him to bang other chicks. As geeky as this guy looks, there's no way in hell he's getting his rocks off on her.

She wears brands like Lanvin and Helmut Lang...Duh..........

Obviously thinner girl with $20 H&M clothes will look better than her (without clothes too)

She has that cocky fashion mind. 'I have to wear A list designer clothes' but she refuses to make herself fit into those clothes......

She can go to ghetto mall and swim around plus sizes clothes but wants to stay on Rodeo Dr....LOL
Hell, just being fat on Rodeo dr is unacceptable. people try to look perfect in every way possible.

He's an advocate for gay and lesbian rights, and has obvious issues with his masculinity. From an interview:

Quote:Quote:

People identify with other people for different reasons, and I personally am really comfortable around lesbians because, in some ways, we view women the same way. I've never really identified with the way a typical alpha-male views women. It's always an awkward forum for me to hang out with another guy and talk about girls, because I can't really find a way to fit in. I've never really had those big macho alpha qualities.

So a lot of my lesbian friends have this way that they talk about women, and in the way they connect with them I just feel a little bit more comfortable. Which kind of makes me think that maybe I'm a straight man with, like, lesbian chemicals. I think you can be a man who loves a woman but love someone the way a gay man loves another man or a woman loves a woman.

These women disgust me.

I live next to a huge university here in the UK.

What depresses me is that even the "slim" 18 year old girls here still have jiggly legs and flabby untoned bodies.

Yuk.
