Check Out My Podcast Interview with Quintus Curtius

I recently interviewed RVF member and ROK contributor Quintus Curtius about his new book Thirty Seven (my review of it is here), masculinity, the classics and a whole lot more. If you're interested, click here to check it out.

I should mention that there were some technical issues with the recording: I was checking out of my apartment in Davao that morning, and the Filipino who was supposed to settle my accounts showed up two hours late, mid-interview; I was also Shanghaied into helping him drag a mysterious package up from the lobby. As a result, I had to stitch the final interview together from three separate files. I think the results are pretty good though there are some glitches at points.

Let me know what you think.

I don't quite agree - he was an absolute genius of a writer whose moral universe is very "blue pill".

But it's a great discussion to have...I'd love to see more discussion of the classics in our neck of the internet. A book club of some kind would be brilliant.

Dickens fan here as well. I enjoy his work on multiple levels, including the excessive verbosity and - usually hilarious - sentimentality.

Loved the discussion herein of 'Clarity of Thought', which is why I respect Quintus as a writer. Always my problem - mind races in 50 directions at once.

Great intellectual discussion from Quintus who is far more well read than I am and probably most other people. I liked the analysis of masculinity and how it's reflected in the classics.

Also, totally agree that it is within a man's grasp to create and shape their own reality.

Excellent to hear more about this mysterious writer and his ideas. I was intrigued to learn of his interest in Mysticism and Sufism as well. I'm yet to read the book, but will get there!

Seriously deep thoughts, great philosophical views, I enjoyed listening to this while working. Very valid points and very articulate. Also a devil dog and lawyer ? Someone to advantage of life, and you're right, we should read a lot more.

QC definitely sounds like a guy who wears an officer's uniform. So dignified.
