This problem has been around for years, IRS has not solved it. It sent out over 3M fraudulent returns for over $5B last year. I'm in the wrong business.

Some guy in the video said he would process 15 fraudulent claims a day at $3K a pop.

I watched this as well as its in my ballpark of what I do (legal tax not illegal) I laughed that they showed almost exactly how to do it along with the guy's sentence, 3.5 years....for stealing 3 million dollars?! I'm sure bank robbers wished they could get that kind of sentence.

Anyhow, tax fraud is the new medicare fraud. The lesson for a regular joe is to file your tax return as soon as possible in any tax year. If you file first and and a scammer files, their return is rejected. If you file second...you get to go through the identity theft process.
