What is the best sandbox solution for a Windows 7 machine?
09-23-2014, 06:36 PM
For any of you guys, do you use a quick sandbox solution to test out questionable programs or applications on Windows 7? I do have a vm environment but instead of spinning up a win7 vm, I'd rather use a quick sandbox solution on my Win7 machine.
Thanks.

Create a non-administrator (guest) account and do your dirty there, but realize nothing is as safe as a vm environment. VMWare has a free version I think, while VirtualBox is definitely free.

Sandboxie works well, but it's not completely isolated like a virtual machine.

You looking for free? There are some great cloud solutions that offer real simple vm provisioning. You pay per CPU cycles. Quick and easy to use; setup templates, deploy them using a simple GUI, and bam you've got a VM.
