Kerry Washington/Allstate Raise Awareness of Imaginary "Financial Abuse" Crisis

Another day, another allegation that men are abusing women in new and exciting ways.
This time around, it comes from actress Kerry Washington, who has teamed up with Allstate Insurance for something called the "Purple Purse Initiative." It's named that because Washington helped design an actual purse to combat violence against women.
While that might sound like a satire, it's real: it's designed to raise awareness about "financial abuse," something feminists have long alleged takes place in relationships, but no one took seriously.
Till now, I guess.
The article states: "Financial abuse occasionally involves the abuser limiting a victim’s access to cash, which can prevent them from leaving the relationship."
I state: The real financial abuse is women scamming men out of dinners when they're "dating" or scamming men out of houses and savings after they're divorced.
Also, here is a link that states women carry more debt than men. They also make the majority of purchases. So if a husband tries to put the brakes on his wife's spending and save the family from going under, that's now "abuse."
If you wanted yet another reason never to co-habitate with a female, there it is.
To be fair, I'm sure what they allege goes on. But I'm also sure that unfair divorce settlements for men go on far, far, more. And I don't see any campaign to raise awareness about that. The cash-strapped, divorced Alan character from "Two and a Half Men" resonates with people because we all know someone like that. Talk about financial abuse.
What I find really disturbing about these "campaigns" is the cumulative effect is giving women an impression of the average man that's way off base, and it's further eroding trust between the sexes. Which, of course, is what feminists wanted all along.

My condo insurance is with Allstate. Geico, who I have car insurance with, has been bugging me to switch to them. When this year's policy is up in Oct., I'll be switching over and I'm gonna let Allstate know this anti-man campaign is the reason. They don't like men? Fine, they don't need to be dealing with this one.
