Heh, she still got married to him a month later.
And this is why no one should care.
Why people are white-knighting for a wild broad who gets the tingles thinking about how her man can take care of business and doesn't take shit from anybody is beyond me.
Ironically, the fact that he's had his contract terminated over this is going to severely impact his ability to 'take care of business' and continue to offer her the value she still saw in him, given she married him after this.

Wow, seriously guys? 220 lb of solid muscle NFL stud knocks his fiancee out COLD. She hit her head on the hand rail. If he wanted to send her a message, he could have given her a Sean Connery smack. Assuming this video is 100% legit and untampered with, Rice took things way too far. This is pretty bad and Rice deserves more than just a two-game suspension.
Just goes to show that too many dudes join RVF to hate on women rather than learn how to fuck them...
He did give her a Connery smack and she kept coming. Personally, I'd have never let it get to that point - if a woman had the cheek to put her hands on me in public like that, she can pack her bags and be gone in the morning. Should be screening out girls like that in the first place. Having allowed it to get to that point, Rice should have tried to restrain her. He did use unnecessary force to combat what was an unnecessary response from the woman.
Having said all that, the fact that his livelihood is being seriously impacted by this does not sit well with me, particularly because the NFL is bowing to the usual suspects. They'd already suspended him and now are lowering the boom even though everyone already knew what happened, simply because there is video of it. It's near thought crime territory now, where if you do or think something that doesn't agree with the 'accepted' view, you're removed from society no matter what. Rice is guilty of hitting his fiancee in a heated argument which involved them both assaulting each other. That does not render him unfit to do his work and provide for his family, particularly as his transgressions happened outside of his place of work. The NFL knew the facts and handed out a punishment, and now are severely increasing that punishment only to get out in front of a SJW led mob right at the start of a new season. It's cowardice if you ask me.
Another problem is the larger societal context in which this is happening. The United States will excuse anyone for doing practically anything, from being an accomplice to murder (Ray Lewis), to being a kiddie perv (Roman Polansky) to being openly perverted (Miley Cyrus) to bragging about having an abortion (Gloria Steinem).
There are the calls to accept the transgendered. No one put the banksters in prison. Illegals flood the country. Single moms rule the roost -- no shaming allowed. Newsweek allows porn actresses who were gangbanged to write articles.
There are no laws or rules, apparently. Anything goes!
And in the swirl of all that chaos, they want to tell us that hitting a woman is some sort of mortal sin. Is it wrong? Of course it is. But people are behaving as if this is Victorian England and Rice made some huge societal transgression. He's part of the larger culture -- an outlaw culture by any other name.
You can't tell people "anything goes" and then single out one area where it doesn't go. You either have chaos or an orderly society. We chose chaos, so no one should be surprised at this -- nor should they be too judgmental, since they're the ones that made judging anything unfashionable to begin with.
Roethlisberger has been forgiven for his "sexaul assualt," "false rape" or whatever it was. Its just a matter of time before people forget about this.
What'll sting in the meantime are all the keyboard jockeys proclaiming superiority over athletes, specifically Ray, cause they would never hit a woman.
Roethlisberger was not caught on film, so we do not know if he did assault her or if she was just drunk and lied. Ben was a top tier QB. The most valuable of positions in the NFL. Running Back just happen to be the lowest position in the NFL. They last about 3 seasons. A franchise QB can last around 7-10. If this was Big Ben in his prime punching his wife like this, the Steelers probably would cut him considering the family that owns the team, the NFL would suspend him for 1 season probably, giving him alot of time to make the chitlin circuit giving speeches, crying on camera, apologizing, etc. then another team would grab him immediately after the suspension. No one will ever do this for a fucking running back with alot of mileage on him. Adrian Peterson might be an exception, but that's still a big maybe.
Knocking a woman out cold as a guy who is strong enough to bench press another large grown man, and can squat 2 dudes, is probably worst than killing some damn dogs like Vick did. Mentally sick dog lovers ruining a man's livelihood is one thing, harming another human being is another. He literally could have killed her with that punch. At least she was a human being and not some stinking animal. Ray Rice will never play football again. I'm calling it now. I would be shocked if he did.
This is not like Warren Moon, Big Ben, or others men fucked up before. There was no video. Warren Moon's wife had a big black eye if I remember right, but times were a little bit different and the NFL was only a man's entertainment. Now the NFL is heavily female now, with pink month for breasts, famous performers and singers, superbowl commercial popularity, Fantasy football and the gambling off it are all very female friendly. Football moms will watch it with their sons and husbands as well now. It's not the same as it used to be, like the days when baseball and basketball ruled and football was third fiddle.
