I can see the obvious money-making potential in a Gaming Site that sells itself as free of SJW thought.

There is a gap in the market for a "Return of Kings" style gaming site. If any of our readers are wordpress ninjas, and good writers with a passion for gaming, this is your shot.

I don't think it'd work. The problems with video games and the industry go far beyond the insidious infiltration by SJW activists.

Indeed, aside from the notable exception of RPG Codex, the gaming websites/communities are generally blue pill beta and omega simp central.

I've seen mediocre looking chicks in forums easily having dozen(s) of dudes wrapped around their fingers with ease. These goofs aren't going to be flocking to a Return of Kings version of "Kotaku".

There's an awful lot of people who refuse to read any form of gaming journalism nowadays. These jaded types can absolutely be reached and they are a golden market niche because they are tech-savvy and often successful, driven people.

I think there is much more behind this. They are hiding something. If we are lucky, we might get to the other side of the rabbits hole.

Most likely that's not how it actually went down. And a girl like this gets it and easily takes advantage of it. It's still not on her, though. In the end nobody else is responsible for a journalists integrity than the journalist himself.

No offence Porteno, but your post is nearly identical to all the apologists posting on The Escapist. They constantly try and undermine the criticism of Zoe by saying "It's not that big of a deal," or "Why are you witch-hunting her for her sex life?" In your case, I'll grant the benefit of the doubt - you do appear to be honest and genuine in your dismissal - and furthermore, you're right that we shouldn't immediately be jumping to conspiracy *conclusions* - but there is a conspiracy going on, and we need to honestly consider various conspiracy theories behind it.

How deep does it go? I'm not quite sure. But as Scorpion noted, there are far too many SJWs in positions of power for this to begin and end with a single woman sleeping her way to the top.

When you're dealing with a Schedule II personality disorder in your life, all of their actions are meant to appear innocent - and to a casual observer, your tale of malign intent will seem conspiratorial. But the reality is that they are plotting against you.

The same goes for these SJWs - they all show signs of extreme mental aberration, and there is enough suggestive evidence of conspiracy that we need to examine this closely and rationally.

I definitely don't mean to say she's in the least innocent. She did sleep around behind her boyfriend's back in order to influence people in her field and get more media exposure, and I wouldn't be in the least surprised if everything else she's accused of (framing Wizardchan, falsely doxxing herself on Tumblr, getting her white-knights to tear TFYC's project apart in the media for no good reason) is also true. All I'm saying is that people are pretty set on what they'll think about her, those who dislike her will continue to dislike her and those who claim she's an innocent victim will always say that no matter how much evidence they are shown. My point is that a RoK article attacking her would do little to influence public opinion (or prospective employers' opinion, as many RoK articles attempt to do), while one focusing on Kotaku's writer could actually hurt. The exception would be if the RoK article about her managed to reach Google's first page, which would help those who come in late to learn what actually happened, but I think a lot of articles from more established sites will soon come out and they would push RoK's article out of the first page. Then again it would still be a good article for the usual RoK readership.

I doubt there's anything that could really be called a conspiracy going on here, just a lot of rabid SJW who will defend Burger and Fries no matter what because that's what feminism is about, an opportunist media riding the wave of outrage and plenty of people who play along because they are too scared to go against the grain and have the mob turn against them. Conspiracies do happen, of course, but at least the posted one about two thirds of all 4chan's mods being replaced overnight is too out there, specially conidering how 4chan does allow open discussion about this (at least since yesterday).

Good point regarding the strategy of attacking the journalists.

As for the conspiracy - there's already a conspiracy! Journalists conspired with Zoe Quinn to exchange sex for recommendations.

One of the conspiracy theories I hold is that the moon-hoaxers, extreme 9/11 conspirators, et al, are a socially engineered group to discredit the whole term "conspiracy theory" in the first place. Granted, idiots are wont to believe idiotic things, but you'd think that the guys who work hardest at this stuff (Mark Dice, for instance - not saying I always agree with him, but I respect his attempts at intellectual integrity) would be able to curb the amount of idiocy here.

Why wouldn't such a site work?

Because gamers and game sites are blue pill? Most news organizations and news junkies are left or SJW types. Before ROK, no one knew a red pill website of that scale would work. Gaming is still a majority male space. Why wouldn't it work?

Let me ask the question a different way. Let's try doing a pre-postmortum. Say we made a red pill game news/review website. It fails spectacularly. What would be the reasons? If we did attempt something like this and it went wrong, how would that happen?

Read my work on Return of Kings here.

I just want to point out that pretty much any forum focused on a particular topic is well within its rights to moderate personal drama.

If I was running a gaming subreddit I would probably mod with a heavy hand, too, while directing people to some other forum for fighting over dirty laundry as a best effort to combat the Streisand effect. Not for the sake of white knighting, just for the sake of not letting one stupid attention whore's drama overwhelm an otherwise productive community.

...It's a subreddit, about gaming. What do you envision was happening there initially that was more productive than exposing dishonesty and breach of ethics within the industry?

The behaviour of sjw mirrors that of the historical infiltration and subversion of the presbyterian church by those kind of people:
http://www.garynorth.com/freebooks/docs/a_pdfs/gncf.pdf

Those people are typically quite sneaky and try to look harmless allies before they enter the group then they start their conspiracies and subversion.

I think a study of such rabbits via this book will also be helpful:

What is the SWJ cause?

To remove all forms of negative judgement from society so it will become A Better Place.

Coincidentally, this also personally benefits them, as they can't compete in either a meritocracy or the free market if something is judged as good or bad.

Their process of making the world a better place is to be a hyper-judgemental moral scold, guilting everyone into putting their work ahead of those with actual merit, which is usually earned through hard work and effort, and they're too incompetent for that.

Feminist-friendly games aren't bought because they're fun to play and addictive. It's bought because it's the right thing to do and it's good for you.

Meanwhile, I've been mucking around in my downtime with Sarah Northway's 'Rebuild 3: Gangs Of Deadsville', and addictive little zombie strategy game she funded through Kickstarter, and there's no stories about her being harassed for being a woman. I suspect it's because she didn't try to fund her kickstarter by claiming to be a victim, that she's offering a good product for a reasonable price, and a product that is an actual game, and addictive for that.

Suspiciously, there's no Kotaku coverage on the game at all for such a vocally-progressive site.

A breach of ethics within the industry is certainly a valid topic for discussion.

Sensational outrage about who slept with who, with all the infighting and accusations and doxxing and lies various bullshit commonly associated with bitch-drama is absolutely not.

The fact that her actions are completely opposite to her stated intentions cuts directly to the heart of why Zoe Quinn's influential position is a problem.

Who exactly she slept with isn't relevant to that story, but the gaming world is so incestuous and cliquey that detailing the relationships involved is essential to explaining how the sordid spider-web connects everything.

I'm not saying she's not a problem. She sounds like a real sociopath and has clearly caused a lot of damage.

I'm just saying that some gaming subreddits listed might have legitimate reasons to remove content.

I am able to draw a parallel with other systems that women infiltrated. Its the same pattern all over again. Its the same as the political system or the workplace. That is why is this important.

Yet again, we have nerds in a position of importance putting their livelihood and professional reputations on the line for a bit of poon. And this one was the king of alpha nerds, the founder of Google.

White knighting is rampant in traditionally-male nerd spaces, and many women are taking advantage of this. The thing is, that not only do they benefit financially without any repercussions, there is a good chance the places they infiltrate suffer as a result, either through chilling effects of sexual harassment suits or the toxic culture that is created.

I have personally seen girls in engineering programs at universities get white knighted to the ends of the earth, with beta nerds doing their homework and letting them cheat. These girls then go on to immediately secure high paying positions at prominent companies upon graduation, while the nerds that helped them have a much more difficult time finding employment.

I'm not sure if the people dismissing this story truly understand. This isn't just one ugly ho sleeping her way to success. This story is highly representative of the larger white knight culture of many tech companies and related industries. And the nerds are welcoming in women like this with open arms while defending their actions to the very end.
