Will The Islamic State last?
IS still going strong.
WW3 still hasn't started.
So that's some kind of success.

When Obama says ISIL/ISIS are not "true Muslims", should one believe him vs. their leader, al-Baghdadi?

Well, maybe the accreditation of the Islamic University is suspect, who knows...

In 2014, American and Iraqi intelligence analysts said that al-Baghdadi has a doctorate for Islamic studies in Quranic studies, from Saddam University in Baghdad.[23][24] According to a biography that circulated on jihadist internet forums in July 2013, he obtained a BA, MA, and PhD in Islamic studies from the Islamic University of Baghdad.[7][22][25][26] Another report says that he earned a doctorate in education from the University of Baghdad.

If only you knew how bad things really are.
It's only a 'real' university if you end up $100,000 in debt and can only get a job in Starbucks.
It could be wiped out quickly but that's not in the interest of the US, they would rather see ISIS topple Assad regime (Russian ally) and then cut a deal with them. The cold war is pretty much still going strong.
Basically the biggest allies of the US in the region, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Turkey, dislike Assad + Iran more than they dislike ISIS.

Nothing lasts forever.
They've been weakened considerably recently, and lost some territory. They'll never be completely gone I'm afraid but they'll dry up to insignificance soon, hopefully.
Doesn't matter whether the Islamic States lasts. They are just the bad boys of a much bigger 1400 year movement that holds more stamina that the weak west. Saudi Arabia at the end of the day is the bigger long-term threat. They are the ones who have financed the worldwide spread of their backward form of Islam and have spearheaded the regressive form of Islamic identity that is taking place today. They finance these mosques around the owlrd and are creating 300 more in Germany alone. Saudis fund much of the terror. Most of what Iran and Shiites do is work to spread Shiite form of Islam against the Sunni and to fight Israel. Even though Obama identifies as a Shiite, they are not who he is by and large bringing into the government. He is bringing in the Muslim Brotherhood. The Sunnis have the long-term game plan that will eventually rule Europe.

Crazy Gaddafi is right - in the end the war-machine will be coming for each and everyone. The globalists will wipe out not only ISIS, but turn against the Saudis and any other country on the list.
Whether this will be done via color revolutions or outright war does not matter much.
It will be done nonetheless, because no religious Muslim countries will fit into the worker-consumer citizenship.
^ I love how they always say the "version" or in the above, "the backward form" of Islam. No, it's real Islam from the Arabian peninsula, where the religion was founded and has always been, you know the one with all the pilgrimage sites? That other forms exist, and that this form is growing is due to the fact that it better encapsulates the historical understanding of Islamic motives and the example of their prophet. Thus, it continues to succeed because it has all the supports of the religion's fundamentals and texts.
Think about it: Suggesting that it is "just a form" is a nuanced way of saying that there can be others, diminishing again how dangerous the religion is in general to human freedom and sanity. But look around, there clearly can't be, and the other forms don't win, which is what, again, Islam is about, thus reinforcing the point.
Calling it for what it is, is indeed the only way to maintain the right frame of mind regarding Islam and thus, creating solutions in defending against it.
