Because he was an amnesty proponent.

Hopefully the GOP will make up to this message and rally behind Sessions, Mike Lee and Cruz.
Jeb Bush should of course be rolled in tar and feathers and exiled to Puerto Rico.

Haha. Actually if you think about it, amnesty could be a good bargaining chip if it it was traded for reducing LEGAL immigration. Funny how that's never on the table, though.
If only you knew how bad things really are.

Cattle Rustler You mean when this place was just a vast stretch of land and not a nation of laws? Because you are right. Those pilgrims, ans the men that followed them built a nation. Granted its shit now but thats besides the point.

Republicans are going to lose the 2016 election again if they keep on hating on immigrants and make negative rhetoric on immigrants. Republicans always underestimate the Hispanic vote and it keeps biting them in the Ass. The country is changing, its not the old white party of the south anymore, and Cantor knew this.

The GOP is never going to win the hispanic vote. Hispanics are almost to a man more liberal than white conservatives; look at the governments they have down south. You can like or dislike the governments of Mexico and South America, but it's hard to argue that they're anywhere near as conservative as the republican party.
Thus, the only sensible thing for the party to do is try to minimize their numbers as much as possible.

There's nothing to be gained from Hispandering by the Republican party, because Hispanics aren't that sympathetic to Republicans on issues outside of immigration anyway. People like you, i.e. liberals were never going to vote Republican anyway.
Perhaps the only potential for revival of small government over the long arc of the future is secession.

They tried to win the Hispanic vote but gave up after a weak attempt. GOP is dead in another 20 years. Hilary is going to trounce these guys. And if they keep losing these smaller elections, say goodbye to the grand old party. Whats funny is that they still try to sell themselves as fiscally conservative. What a joke.
I completely agree. The GOP is dead because of the demographic tidal wave it aided and abetted. It is a done deal and there is nothing the GOP can do to survive in the long run. The electoral fortunes of the two parties are inextricably linked to American demographics. The GOP is not the "white party," because it does nothing for white people and to the extent it ever ethnically panders, it always panders (uselessly) to minorities. However, it is perceived as the white party, and thus minorities will never vote for it, because it's all about sticking it to whitie these days. This is why you have Asians, the richest racial group in America, voting for the party of wealth redistribution. Sticking it to whitey trumps financial self interest in this country, sad but true.

Hence, the end of the GOP party. In order to win the election, the Republicans need at least 35% of Hispanics to win. Romney and McCain both got 31% and 27% respectfully, way below that number. The only candidate who actually reached that number and more was George W. Bush with a whopping 44% hence, he became president.

Are you sure about that? Ronald Reagan, the Republican God once said, and I quote "Hispanics are really Republicans, they just don't know it yet."
Hispanics generally are Catholics and are very against abortion, they generally hold traditional family values and are very against Gay marriage mostly. Those are true traditional values. They relate more to the conservative party than they do with Liberals, but thanks to the negative racist rhetoric that comes from Republicans, that makes Hispanics flee the other way.

Just saying. Why do so many Americans dislike open borders? Seems like you are basically wanting to stop people accessing places you dont own, just because they are from a different country.
I would go as far to say that countries are not actually legitimate, they are just made up by people conquering each other. Morally you(individuals) dont own a country and it doesnt own you either.

Republican party now is cleverly set up to repel a slightly larger percentage of people that pay majority of taxes as an evil bogey man. This ensures that most taxes get collected from the majority by popular demand. It's a side show.

Look at the level of socialism in South and Central America.
This is one of the huge problems with immigration - just about everyone coming to America is coming from a more socialist country. A small minority understand the significance of a constitutional republic, but most will just vote to make America like the place they left.
I see this all the time in the South, where people from the Northeast come down and vote to make things just like the liberal dystopia they left.
Cuban Americans coming from Cuba are generally Republicans. Yes! Cuba, a communist country. Think of all the Republican Hispanics in Congress! They are of Cuban descent. Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Carlos Gutierrez and many others. The notion that because Latin American countries are "socialist" and therefore their immigrants are liberal is a huge understatement. The Cuban community had been a Republican bloc for decades, but with the anti-Hispanic and anti-immigrant rhetoric coming from the Republicans, Cuban Americans are starting to side with the Democrats now.
