Women to Comic-Con. You need to protect us from all those nerds gawking at us

So, women are really little kids with the need to be protected at all times. Now, Comic-con doesn't do enough to stop harrassment.

Go here

"When the ladies of Comic-Con 2014 hit the convention floor in costume this July some will walk away feeling uncomfortable and violated according to online group Geeksforconsent.org."

The group is now blaming Comic-Con for not doing enough to protect women in costume.

“They’ve been harassed, either sexually with petty verbal harassment, or physical groping, or being followed around the convention space” said Rochelle Keyhan, creator and director of Geeks For Consent
."

Oh no. So it's real geeks and not our IDEA of what geeks should be? Heaven forbid.

"Comic-Con is perpetuating the problem by refusing to create a detailed anti-harassment policy.
She created an online petition with more than 2,200 signatures as of early June
."

2,200!! She might be able to get the constitution rewrtitten with that amount of sigs.

A man speaks. "Comic-Con spokesperson David Glanzer defends current policy, calling it “broad by design."
“The fact of the matter is the broadness of the policy allows us to take more action than if we were specific," said Glanzer who points to the heavy security and police presence as proof Comic-Con doesn’t take harassment claims lightly.

“The reports we’ve gotten have been few and far between."

It's another there's nothing to see here. These bitches dress up in skimpy shit and get pissed when only Bob and Joe the geek stares at them instead of the hottie from whatever stupid mega-blockbuster movie is coming out in two months.

Very Good. The world must take stance on this madness till the very last nerd. No one and no place must be left unscratched. Complete polarization must occur before things go back to normal. The madness of unrestrained female demands must be exposed to every last ignorant religous and political head burying ostrich and drilled into brain of every last video game escapist of the world.

Otherwise things will go in cycles again and again.

Prepare for total war, gentelmen. We have had wars between nations, wars between races and wars between economic classes, but the last war will be war between sexes, this war will cut to the very core of humanity and everyone will have to take a stance. In this war there will be no borders it will cut in the middle of every family and every community. This will be the ultimate war of collected reason vs. unrestrained desire.

I was never much of a comic book type of dude, but what's happened to "geek culture" over the past ~5 years is fucking sickening.

Comic books/sci-fi/fantasy/videogames were 99% created by men, as were the communities that sprung up around them. Most of it deals with subject matter (masculine power/sexual fantasies, violence, war) that doesn't typically appeal to women. There are some definite exceptions, particularly when it comes to fantasy books, but the majority of works in these genres were created for and marketed to males, more often than not adolescent males.

The argument that the women at comic-con and similar events just really love star wars or classic nintendo games or Spiderman comics or whatever is not convincing at all. A few do, sure, but I expect its similar to the percentage of (non-flaming) men who love female-targeted media like hello kitty or romantic comedy movies, i.e. very few. That chubby chick waddling around in the Chun-Li costume isn't there because she's a hardcore street fighter player, but because it's any easy way to illicit slavish male attention.

It's all about ugly/average chicks trying to shoot fish in a barrel, so to speak. The thinking (subconscious or not) is that by focusing on "geeks" (men who have poor social skills and rarely get female attention) they can capture the same peak social status as the cheerleaders and other top-10% chicks that teased and ignored them in high school. "As long as I have a vagina and dress up in some silly princess zelda costume or something, guys will slobber over me like I'm a super model" is the thought process.

Nerdy shit like dungeons and dragons and comic books used to be a way for awkward dudes who couldn't fit in to bond and build at least some rudimentary social skills. Now any kind of convention or videogame tournament or what-have-you is quickly morphing into just another venue for chicks to attention-whore AND then whine and screech about the usual feminist crap. These events have become one more place (like High school, college, work) where under-performing guys are cock-teased by bitchy princesses and then shamed for their supposed "privilege."

what the crap. This is like strippers asking to be protected from the prying eyes of patrons. the WHOLE reason to dress up like a slut at comic-con is to play on the fantasies of nerds everywhere.

I propose they make comic-con 18+, make it dimly lit, put bouncers at the doors, add a stage and overpriced drinks. Get bonafide strippers to wear the costumes, the nerds will be able to get lap dances from Rogue without a consent form and strippers will make a good buck with perhaps the greatest travelling strip club on earth.

Hey Darklight,

That's a really good point about the cock teasing, which popped a thought into my head.

This form of female attention whoring to me is a form of bullying and even a form of passive aggressive humiliation towards so called weaker men. These women are flaunting their sexuality at them like a weapon and dominating these "nerds" as they are low status men who couldn't get a woman like this if they tried.

I've fucked a couple of these women and they were all insane broads who liked the attention but hated the people giving it to them. They're nuts.

Most "geeks" dress in black or dull clothing so they don't stand out. Women there however are brightly coloured and are doing everything they can to stand out.

The women at these conventions are "peacocking" to a degree.

The predictable stages of any space:

Men form gang and create space.
Man in gang create things that give them status.
Popularity of creations creates community. More men join.
Space creates hierarchy, leading to high status leaders of men.
Women see high status men, and enter space to get their attention.
As more women enter, space is diluted, and not all attention whores can get alpha males.
Women enact rules and fundamentally change space to stop low status men.
Alphas and low status men with ambition start to leave space.
Space becomes feminized and begins downward spiral.
Men form new gang and create space.

This is true of even the manosphere. See: Mark Minter, a guy who didn't even have his own blog being able to marry a groupie. (Insert your own "top that motherfuckers!" joke)

There are a lot of hot girls cosplaying at cons. I got a glare from the "cosplay does not equal consent" booth at one con when I went by with one such girl on my arm. Some of those girls are genuine fans, but with the films being such a huge part of geekdom now, being a fan requires less. On the one hand, comics are considered cool now, and on the other hand, they've also gone mainstream, and like tech, are having all the problems nerdy movements that go mainstream experience.

Unfortunately, the geek community and the tech community were formed by precisely the kind of men who need intellectual creations and the status afforded by them to get women. They don't know how to handle shit tests of this magnitude.

The reason a "geeks for consent" group exists is because there are a lot of guys at cons who behave like the OP's article describes - following girls around, trying to grope etc. I can't tell you the number of guys whose first line to the girl I was with was something "wow, you're really beautiful." They'd ask for a picture with her and her costume, which immediately throws them into the fanzone. I also got a lot of "nice job bro" type comments and would just smile and nod. It all seemed odd to me, but only because my I've conditioned myself not to be impressed by beauty.

And in other news, I drove into the worst part of Baltimore City today in a KKK robe...and could not BELIEVE how much I was harassed and beat up!

I have the freedom to wear what I choose. They had no right to do what they did. Someone needs to write more stringent laws about all of this.

And finally:

Instead of shaming whites for their KKK clothes, teach blacks not to react to them! (It's a variation on this, from an equally idiotic story.)

The real truth is EVERYTHING, without exception, turns to shit once you get a significant percentage of women involved. Men create everything in the world (other than children.) Sports, business, religion, government, the military and all the way down to relatively obscure and specific things like comic book conventions are invariably ruined by female involvement. Two things happen every time:

1.) women attention whore and distract men from whatever the point of the endeavor was. This works out okay for the few men who end up fucking them, but crushes productivity and accomplishment across the board.

2.) Women whine and complain and insist on changing the rules to make things more comfortable and easy for themselves. Most men, being either beta or with their own agenda for capitalizing on "pussy power," go along with these demands. The focus of the institution changes from accomplishing a goal to coddling women.

Absolutely. Actually, I think all women do what you describe. Cosplayer chicks just take it to an extreme.

And they wonder why certain low status men do something terrible to women, its this subtle level of manipulation and aggression that we choose not to see or we aren't in touch with our instincts.

Agree and amplify. Since this is all about dressing provocatively for attention from the right kind of men, then losing their shit when the wrong kind of men likes it, simply cut off the possibility for attention whoring all together.

From 8 to 1, Comic Con is men-only.

From 2 to 10, Comic Con is women-only, with no men permitted in the building.

Make sure the statement is all about taking the sexual harassment concerns of women seriously, and that no woman should be made to feel sexually-uncomfortable, so the space must be made as safe as possible.

No girl is going to spend 6 hours turning herself into a live action version of a computer game character for female attention. You could filter out all the attention whores from Comic Con within 2 years.

Interesting fact: In high school I found an old psychology book and in it, they considered "exhibitionism" on the part of females a psychological disorder. I remember the book saying it originated with girls seeking to get the attention of their fathers.

Now, our society has changed so much that what was once a condition is considered the norm.

My question is: who are the real perverts? The people who get up and spend hours strapping on clothes that stick their private parts in everyone's face...or the people who react to that? When did we, as a society, decide the men who reacted to women were the problem, and women were not culpable for what they did?

Men get in trouble for a glance or a few misplaced words. But no one stops to think that women will take hours -- hours -- to puff their hair, slather on makeup, hoist up their breasts, and get into gigantic heels.

Why does no one stop to think that's not normal behavior? Especially when you get on Facebook in the morning and before you've had your Wheaties, there are already a dozen women with photos of cleavage in push-up bras?

Even outside the realm of Comic-Con, this seems more like women's daily routine is more like prepping for a costume party than getting ready for the real world. With the way society has gone, it seems like women have cultivated a "rape-me" culture by making themselves all about sex. This would be fine if it were for the clubs, but it's everywhere all the time, and now at Comic-Con of all places.

And while this doesn't excuse guys groping, it needs to be called out. If I went around in a t-shirt saying "Fuck you, prick! I dare you to punch me!" would I bear some responsibility when I'm hit? Same goes for women.

I'd like to see pics of these bitches complaining about being gawked at. My guess is they're 4/10s.

This is female attention whoring 101 and humble bragging.

They want the world to think they are hotter than they really are, and how it's such a troubling "burden" that so many guys desire them.

Truly hot women don't mind bring gawked at, and in fact seem to enjoy it.

Take care of those titties for me.

Hey Doba,

This bit is brilliant,

"Interesting fact: In high school I found an old psychology book and in it, they considered "exhibitionism" on the part of females a psychological disorder. I remember the book saying it originated with girls seeking to get the attention of their fathers"

after reading that, i thought, the state is their "father"

They are calling out for the eternal love of a government that really is just an abstract thought. Regardless how hard they shout and scream of how the world is too hard/evil/full of hate. The government will give them everything but never ever love them.

Girls don't dress up and attention-whore by pretending to be characters who are immature physical-and-sexual power fantasies because they're confident and emotionally-secure with the reality of who they are.

Getting angry over guys then objecting you as a sexual power fantasy? That's just classic Millienial Dismissive-Avoidant behaviour: wanting to attract attention, but trying harder to push all attention away.

Truth.

Having been to these cons, the women at the "consent" themed booths are always 4-6 and the better cosplay models often 7-9.

I'm a geek and I'd be the first to admit it. Yes, I've been to cons like Comic-con and the likes, mostly when I was still an ignorant Beta, but even now after taking the red pill I still like going to these cons. However, I stay the fuck away from the chicks there. They're almost all damaged goods and fucking attention whores looking for nothing else than attention and validation. They put THEMSELVES on a pedestal and bless the Beta geeks with their mere presence (or so they think). The geeks should feel honored to be even allowed to look at her magnificence, while mentally jerking off. But don't think you have a shot with these cosplaying girls fellow geeks, because they will tell you you're out of line and not worthy of her companionship. They will even go as far as to accuse you of harassing her, perhaps even raping her. Then what we see in the OP happens.

Fuck these women. They're not worth our time. Well, maybe for a quick pump 'n dump, but you need hella tight game to pull that off with these bitches, because their egos are so insanely huge and their hamsters spin so hard it's gonna take some serious tight game to get these chicks in your bed.

I actually once ended up fucking one of these chicks. I walked straight into the trap. Before I knew it, I was hers. I actually dated her for 9 fucking months. Biggest mistake ever. But I should thank her though. My twisted and insane relationship with her is what woke me up and made me swallow the red pill.

Women cosplayers want a place where they can slut it up without having to face male attention.

Then, theyll denounce female objectivization by their portrayal in comic books. Then they boicot, and win, the fight for "realistic" female superheroes.

Nobody, of course, will buy a copy of "Body-Positive Girl" or "YesAllWomyn"... but they characters will be the most popular in cosplay, since theyll have no need to hide their rolls of fat to do the costume.

Geeks will then go back to the garage, where they are most happy without any interactions with the treacherous ways of the female mind.

I've gotta say this is totally bewildering to me.
I go to a bunch of cons like this, though not Comic-Con. I take photos of a lot of the girls, and they're always happy to pose for me. I don't think it's because of my awesome alpha attitude or movie-star good looks, because I have neither of those things. It takes a lot of work to put together a cosplay costume, and the girls who do it generally do it to show off. Why would you spend the hours and hours of tailoring and sewing and fitting to put one of these outfits together and NOT want people to see it?

This is the usual tempest in a teapot, where a couple of idiots are clamoring for something that's already happening. Look at their complaints:
“They’ve been harassed, either sexually with pretty verbal harassment, or physical groping, or being followed around the convention space”

All of this shit is banned already at every convention, and indeed, every public environment in the United States. If someone is physically groping your breasts at a convention, go get a cop. He's committing sexual assault, and they'll arrest him. If somebody is following you around the convention floor, go get security. They'll kick him out in an instant. None of this shit is new, and everybody knows it.
