Short-haired "rape advocates" are, of course, stepping in. They're calling it "modesty shaming" and saying this how rape "starts."

Is it just me or does the second picture look like a completely different person?

"modesty shaming"

Is it not the exact opposite?

You dress like a whore, you get your picture edited to become less whore-like. Seems like "slut-shaming" to me.

A lot of people in the comments were confused by this. They were showing these two different girls side by side to highlight how two students wearing the same thing were treated differently (one edited, one not).

They are. Article was trying to compare how two similar outfits got treated differently.

This is great. I love how the school handled this.

They set the expectations and adjusted the photos to comply. No big argument. No one found out until the year book came out and it was already too late.

Of course, one of the comments claims this is evidence of America's clandestine conversion to Sharia law.

Yeah didn't make it down to the comments but that makes sense.

Looking at the examples I imagine the first thing they looked at was a low cut shirt and from there if they noticed anything else (shoulders not covered) they would fix it while they were at it. Though this is speculation as we don't know what the girl in the second photo set looked like in the before photo.

Gavin McInnis is on Red Eye on Fox News right now talking about this.

He said "she isn't a sex object to me. She is only a 6 out of 10. If she was a 8 or 9, then maybe I would have a problem making her out to be a sex object. But she isn't hot enough so she can just wear what she wants and I don't care"

Host "yea, but you are a 3"

Gavin: "Yea, true. But I am rich and famous so it doesn't matter. We are not the fairer sex"

Holyshit, this on main stream news. Go Gavin!

Granted Red Eye doesn't come on until 3 AM EST on Fox News, so they can get away with more.

But Gavin McInnis always brings it when he is on TV.

This isn't shaming. It's just editting to achieve normcore.

Conciously practiced normcore is the opposite of attention seeking.

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

First time I've ever seen "normcore" used outside of the fashion trend.

How old are these women? If the hamster is this strong to get attention after being thwarted then I can only imagine the results after college.

A firm hand is needed when they push too far. Editing the yearbook isn't that firm hand IMO. Should have told them to go home or not get into it.

Imagine the work they put into this.

This means that students can now go and take photos in underwear and pajamas because the proper clothing will be added on them digitally. So much for promoting decency.

Maybe it will save someone some money on a suit or dress.

If this were a private school I would say "go ahead and let the school do whatever they want."

However, this is a public school and therefore receives federal and state money. Such an institution should not be doing this sort of censorship under any circumstances. The school should not have published the photos at all due to an explicitly stated statement on photo day that "Anyone violating school dress code will not have picture published nor their photo taken."

We have enough damn censorship and I don't care if its a girl showing slightly too much cleavage, I cannot agree with a public institution doing this sort of censorship.

It's a slippery slope. One day you're using the photoshop "fill" tool, and the next you're naked except for a trenchcoat, lurking in the bushes outside a college dormitory.

I for one am glad that these vigilant watchdogs are working against the photoshop menace.
