I was under the impression gatekeepers were there to fend off unwanted sales calls and to help the 'decision maker' not waste time. But a lot of these so called 'gatekeepers' are employees who just go about doing the bare minimum to get paid. Thus potential important calls are not fed through, people details are not passed on and so on such that the business fails to take full advantage.
